A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 913: Chapter 913: Will You Take the Role?

To be precise, Chen Zhou plans to invite Mu Yan to play the female lead in his new film, but Mu Yan has yet to respond.

As an internationally renowned director, Chen Zhou has always been strict about selecting his leading actresses, and Mu Yan, being noticed by him repeatedly, certainly has exceptional acting skills.

The day after returning from the Venice Film Festival, Chen Zhou accepted an interview with journalists.

The interview involved questions about casting the female lead and male lead for his new work.

The reporter heard Chen Zhou say that the female lead hadn’t been decided yet and asked further, learning that this great director was determined to use the young and highly popular actress Mu Yan.

She joked, ”Director Chen selecting Mu Yan this time, isn’t it also because your wife is on good terms with Mu Yan?”

”Not really, Mu Yan is just very suitable for this role, but my wife indeed quite likes her.”

”Why do I sense a bit of jealousy here? Director Chen and his wife have a good relationship,” the reporter asked with a smile.

Chen Zhou said nothing.

The reporter asked again, ”So, this time Director Chen will take Mu Yan to the Venice Film Festival, in hopes that someday she’ll win the Golden Lion Award?”

”Sort of, although essentially I just hope to make good movies, but I think actors need something to motivate them to produce great works, especially young actors.”

The reporter asked again, ”It seems Director Chen has high hopes for Mu Yan. Do you think she has a chance to win the Golden Lion Award?”

”I’m merely a director, my focus is on how to shoot a good film, and whether she can win an award depends on the actor’s talent. In short, it’s a collaboration between the director and the actor, and I hope we can create a good work. However, as of now, Mu Yan hasn’t agreed to star in my new film yet.”

After this interview was reported, netizens immediately understood why Chen Zhou was taking Mu Yan to the film festival.

Originally, those who were sour about Mu Yan vanished without a trace.

Naturally, many netizens became fans of Director Chen and his wife, especially interpreting Chen Zhou’s line ”my wife indeed quite likes her” as jealousy, with his wife being lured away by a third party.

Some netizens went onto Mu Yan’s Weibo, asking her to leave Director Chen’s wife alone, not to ruin his family, and to be careful about Director Chen getting jealous and giving her a hard time in the film crew.

Mu Yan was a bit surprised upon seeing the comments, thinking, is Director Chen really that adorable?

Soon Wang Linjia called and brought up the matter, laughing uncontrollably.

”It’s been so many years, Old Chen is still so petty, even getting jealous over women. Let me tell you, when I usually invite Sister Wen out to eat, he calls one time after another as if I’m going to steal his woman away.”

As the conversation went on, she talked about the story of Sister Wen and Chen Zhou.

Sister Wen was a wealthy heiress who liked idol-chasing. She saw Chen Zhou, a penniless but passionate intern director on set, and they fell in love at first sight. To be exact, it was Sister Wen who liked him and pursued him.

Chen Zhou had a good impression of this lively and lovely girl but kept his distance due to the significant age difference between them.

Unable to withstand Sister Wen’s advances, he eventually surrendered, and the two fell in love.

However, due to age differences and family backgrounds, Sister Wen’s family opposed their relationship and even humiliated Chen Zhou.

In anger, Chen Zhou suggested breaking up with Sister Wen and disappeared.

Sister Wen didn’t seek him out, but fate is peculiar, and the two met again after twists and turns, this time with the successful Chen Zhou pursuing her.

Eventually, they convinced their families and walked together.

Mu Yan hadn’t expected Sister Wen and Chen Zhou’s relationship to be so turbulent, but she understood why Chen Zhou’s gaze was always filled with love when he looked at Sister Wen.

Lost and regained, no one understands the importance of love more than he does.

Wang Linjia suddenly asked her, ”By the way, are you going to act in Chen Zhou’s film?”
