A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 903: Chapter 903: Looking Back

The film crew of ”Dragon Soaring,” led by Chen Zhou, boarded a special car together, heading to the film festival opening ceremony.

As an internationally renowned director, Chen Zhou’s arrival immediately attracted widespread attention, with foreign media cameras focusing on them even before entering the venue.

Lin Jiamu and the others arrived around the same time as Mu Yan’s group. After the two directors exchanged greetings, the actors began their lively conversations.

Lin Jiamu walked over to Mu Yan, hiding his amazement and complimented, ”You look beautiful today.”

”Thank you, you’re handsome as well!” Mu Yan chimed in.

Immediately, both of them laughed.

”Are we just exchanging commercial flattery?”

”I’m speaking the truth.” Lin Jiamu said with a serious tone.

They both laughed again.

Lin Jiamu asked, ”Have you been enjoying yourself in Venice these days?”

Mu Yan thought of the car accident the day before yesterday, her smile faded a bit, ”It’s been alright.”

Lin Jiamu noticed her change in mood, ”What’s wrong?” he asked.

Mu Yan pondered for a moment, ”Let’s talk about it while we walk. We’re falling behind.”

”Okay.” Lin Jiamu nodded.

As they entered the venue together, Mu Yan took the opportunity to describe the car accident.

Lin Jiamu’s face turned slightly grim, ”Was it really just a careless involvement with you?”

He suspected it was a premeditated murder.

”That’s what the police are saying at the moment. I went out yesterday afternoon and didn’t notice anyone tailing me,” Mu Yan replied, ”but I’ll be careful.”

”Okay.” Lin Jiamu nodded, ”After the opening ceremony ends, you should come back to the country with me.”

With him there, he could ensure her safety.

”No need.” Mu Yan immediately responded.

”Hmm?” Lin Jiamu looked at her, puzzled.

Mu Yan whispered, ”Jing Heng came over.”

Lin Jiamu realized, given such a significant incident, Jiang Jingheng wouldn’t just stand by.

He chuckled, ”No wonder you didn’t come out for dinner yesterday.”

Mu Yan admitted frankly, ”Yes, he hardly slept the past couple of days and had to communicate with the local police about my matters, he’s very exhausted.”

”Hmm.” Lin Jiamu replied, looking ahead, and didn’t speak further.

Some domestic reporters saw them and immediately clicked the shutter.

Their friendship had been publicly known for a long time, but it was rare to see them together in the public eye.

At the red carpet entrance, Mu Yan separated from Lin Jiamu as she needed to walk the red carpet with her film crew.

Although it wasn’t her first time on the red carpet, this was her debut at an international film festival abroad, and it was impossible not to feel nervous.

The sound of camera shutters continued around her, and Mu Yan just wanted to quickly finish the red carpet walk and enter the venue.

Suddenly, she heard a commotion behind her and instinctively turned back, only to see Zhou Lifen in a striking red gown walking toward them under the gaze of many.

After just a moment, she turned her head and continued moving forward.

What she didn’t know was that her glance had already been captured by someone.

Having finished the red carpet walk, Mu Yan stayed beside Wang Linjia.

Wang Linjia looked at Zhou Lifen, who was still on the red carpet not far away, and chuckled, ”Do you believe it? She’ll definitely be one of the longest-staying female stars on the red carpet in this festival.”

Mu Yan estimated that Zhou Lifen still had half the red carpet left to walk, completely reveling in the cameras.

She nodded in agreement, ”She’ll probably dominate tomorrow’s domestic entertainment headlines; she’s going to be famous.”

Wang Linjia remarked sarcastically, ”Indeed, well aware that she’ll be criticized for it, but she’s chosen notoriety over obscurity. Never thought the proud Zhou Lifen would fall to this level one day.”
