A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 904: Chapter 904: Blind!

Zhou Lifen turned back with every step, fully displaying her charm in front of the cameras.

Ever since her role was revoked last year, directors have stopped approaching her for films.

She even personally offered to lower her pay, but was tactfully rejected.

After collaborating with a few investors to make two lukewarm films, she completely faded into silence.

Of course, that doesn’t mean she’s given up. She’s just waiting for the right opportunity.

The annual film festival always causes a great sensation in the country, attracting the attention of countless netizens, so this is her chance to make a comeback.

Reluctantly walking the red carpet, Zhou Lifen signed her name. Just as she was about to enter, she saw Wang Linjia and Mu Yan standing right in front of her.

A flash of jealousy crossed her eyes. Isn’t it thanks to these two that she’s ended up in this position?

”Well, isn’t this Miss Zhou? Long time no see.” Wang Linjia was the first to speak.

She looked surprised, ”I saw online some time ago that you became a nun. What, did you return to secular life just to attend the film festival?”

Mu Yan almost couldn’t suppress her laughter; Sister Lin Jia was being too mischievous.

Indeed, some time ago, someone photographed Zhou Lifen meditating in a temple, wearing a nun’s hat, leading to speculation that she had become a nun.

Of course, that couldn’t possibly be true.

If someone like Zhou Lifen could have a heart inclined towards Buddhism, maybe the end of the world was imminent.

As expected, Zhou Lifen’s face looked somewhat unpleasant.

She glared fiercely at Wang Linjia, ”You’re just being arrogant because of your family’s influence, aren’t you?”

”Yes, my family does quite well in Beijing.” Wang Linjia shrugged her shoulders with an innocent look, ”Can’t help it, I’ve been this lucky since birth.”

Mu Yan: ”...”

She was a bit worried about a potential fight breaking out here, with her as a witness.

Zhou Lifen trembled with anger, unable to refute a single word.

Indeed, some people are winners from birth, achieving heights others can’t match even with a lifetime’s effort.

Wang Linjia was the insurmountable mountain for Zhou Lifen.

That’s why she really disliked Wang Linjia.

”I remember Sister Lin Jia didn’t even get a nomination this time,” Zhou Lifen sarcastically remarked.

”As if you have one,” Wang Linjia scoffed lightly, ”At least I was officially invited, unlike some people who got invitation letters from who knows where.”

Zhou Lifen snorted coldly, ”Sister Lin Jia is the lead actress, so since Director Chen and Li Yushen were invited, it’s expected to bring you too. But what’s the deal with the person next to you? A female extra coming to cling to the red carpet?”

She emphasized the words ”female extra” heavily, aiming to belittle Mu Yan.

Mu Yan smiled calmly, ”This time, I owe my chance at the film festival to Director Chen’s support, but it’s also because ’Dragon Soaring’ is a good film that gave me this opportunity. Unlike Miss Zhou, who doesn’t even have a nominated work. Of course, Miss Zhou is impressive in her own way—without a nominated work, she still managed to get an invitation letter.”

”Who knows how she got it,” Wang Linjia chuckled lightly, ”But Miss Zhou does have experience with such things.”

The two of them sang in harmony, infuriating Zhou Lifen, and if it weren’t a public setting, a physical fight might have erupted.

”Don’t gloat too soon,” Zhou Lifen retorted harshly.

Wang Linjia raised an eyebrow, ”You’re wrong there, we’ve always been proud.”

Zhou Lifen bit her lip and turned to leave, unwilling to listen to them anymore.

Wang Linjia watched her back, curling her lip in disdain and saying, ”Someone like that; how ever did you once feel so devoted to her!”

Mu Yan was somewhat helpless, ”Probably blinded.”
