A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 396: Chapter 396: The Jar of Jealousy Is About to Tip Over Again!

As everyone knows, aside from Qin Xi, Lin Jiamu basically has no female friends, making him practically immune to women.

But now he’s actually speaking up for Mu Yan, which says a lot about their relationship.

Lin Jiamu is a super popular male singer with both looks and talent.

Meanwhile, He Jianzhou is just a pretty face with no noteworthy work to his name.

When the two go head-to-head, He Jianzhou is destined to lose badly.

With Lin Jiamu’s influence, netizens fiercely criticized He Jianzhou for trying to gain fame by dragging his life-saving benefactor into a scandal.

Even some of He Jianzhou’s fans switched sides; after all, Lin Jiamu is also their idol.

The biggest question on netizens’ minds at the moment is what exactly the relationship between Mu Yan and Lin Jiamu is.

Mu Yan hadn’t expected Lin Jiamu to publicly support her.

At that time, she was still on her way to the film set, so she immediately called him.

”Why did you suddenly go public about our relationship?” she asked.

”Didn’t like seeing people slandering you,” Lin Jiamu replied bluntly.

He paused for a moment, then carefully asked, ”Are you upset?”

”Of course not, just a bit surprised. Why didn’t you tell me in advance!”

She and Lin Jiamu weren’t in a relationship that couldn’t see the light of day, so there was nothing to fear about people knowing.

Besides, times have changed, and she’s no longer an unknown little star.

Lin Jiamu seemed relieved and said, ”If I told you in advance, you’d just make excuses again. Even Qin Xi can be openly friends with you, so why can’t I? Is it because I’m male? That’s definitely gender discrimination.”

Mu Yan laughed, ”Who dares to discriminate against you, little king? I’ll knock them out for you.”

”Alright, stop joking around. Tell me what’s going on with you and He Jianzhou?”

”Nothing much, we just don’t like each other,” she replied.

Lin Jiamu chuckled, ”I knew your taste wouldn’t be that bad. After all, you even turned me down.”

”I wouldn’t dare not to like you. If your fans found out, they’d drown me in a sea of spit,” Mu Yan laughed.

She paused for a moment and said, ”Thank you!”

”We’re friends. Why be so formal with me?”

Mu Yan smiled slightly, wanting to thank him for saving her, a complete stranger, back then.

After chatting for a while, Mu Yan hung up the phone.

”Do you need PR for this situation with Lin Jiamu?” Song Cheng’an suddenly asked from the front.

Mu Yan thought for a moment and said, ”We’re just friends. There’s nothing to hide.”

”But netizens might not see it that way.”

Mu Yan said seriously, ”Should I stop being friends with Lin Jiamu just because netizens have wild imaginations? I can’t do that!”

Song Cheng’an neither agreed nor disagreed. He didn’t mind, but Jing Heng on the other hand... might get jealous again!

Outside the recording studio, Lin Jiamu finished his call and posted a Weibo update before heading in.

Xie Feng walked over and began scolding, ”Are you crazy? Posting a Weibo to support Mu Yan at a time like this, aren’t you afraid of stirring up a scandal with her?”

Lin Jiamu glanced at him and said, ”Stirring with me is better than stirring with someone else.”

Xie Feng was speechless with frustration. What kind of logic was that!

Lin Jiamu remembered something and said, ”By the way, prepare to release the new song MV.”

Xie Feng looked at him, hesitantly saying, ”You’re not planning to use the MV to promote Mu Yan, are you?”

”Why not?”

Xie Feng felt like punching him, ”Do you realize how important this album is?”

This album is his tenth and the commemorative work for his fifth anniversary since debut. The company had already decided to package it well, so how could he be so casual about it?

Lin Jiamu looked at him intently and said, ”Compared to her, it’s not just one album, but even ten that I’d be willing to part with!”

With that, he turned and entered the recording studio.

Xie Feng took a deep breath as he watched his back—this was madness, absolute madness!
