A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 352: Chapter 352: I’m afraid the paper can’t cover the fire

Mu Yan looked at Ruan Xinyu with a face full of confusion. Who is Ah Ning?

Wang Linjia glanced at Mu Yan, seeing her bewildered expression, and knew that Ruan Xinyu had mistaken her for someone else.

She turned to Ruan Xinyu and introduced, ”This is my friend, Mu Yan.”

Ruan Xinyu snapped out of it and immediately apologized to Mu Yan, ”Sorry, you look very much like someone I know.”

Calming down and thinking about it, she realized there was quite an age difference between her and Ah Ning.

But still...

Mu Yan smiled slightly, ”It’s okay.”

Ruan Xinyu asked again, ”What is your mom’s name?”

Mu Yan slightly frowned, wondering why this person was asking that?

Ruan Xinyu also realized she was being too abrupt, so she quickly said, ”I’m sorry, I just...”

”Her name is Xi Zhen,” Mu Yan suddenly said.

Ruan Xinyu looked a bit disappointed, so it wasn’t Ah Ning.

She turned to Wang Linjia, ”You guys go around and shop.”

”Okay, I’ll treat you to tea later,” Wang Linjia said with a smile.

”Alright.”

Wang Linjia left with Mu Yan, and Mu Yan quickly put the matter out of her mind.

After all, there are many people in the world who look alike.

After returning home, Ruan Xinyu couldn’t help but tell her husband about it.

”That girl looks really similar to how Ah Ning looked when she was young. Do you think there really could be such a coincidence in this world?”

The man said in a deep voice, ”Do not spread this matter for now, or the old man and old lady will start making a fuss again.”

Ruan Xinyu nodded, ”I know what I’m doing.”

Her father-in-law and mother-in-law had stirred up the family quite a bit over the years because of that child.

Not to mention the situation over with the second branch.

Causing a storm within the family over someone unrelated would be more trouble than it’s worth.

”I’ll go downstairs to keep Mom company,” Ruan Xinyu said and then left.

The man watched her leave, took out his phone, and searched for the name Mu Yan.

Looking at the girl in the photo, he sighed, ”Ah Ning, it seems the truth cannot be hidden any longer. That child is bound to come back here eventually.”

In a few days, ”Cold Night” was released. Although it missed the Chinese New Year slot, the box office did well during the winter holidays, earning over 200 million on the first day.

As the second female lead, Mu Yan’s performance was outstanding.

Her portrayal of the female cop was not only righteous but also clever and tricky, skilled in disguise, which she brought to life vividly.

The overall movie score was 9 out of 10, with some viewers giving Mu Yan a perfect 10.

Even with an acclaimed actress like Wang Linjia in the lead, Mu Yan’s talent couldn’t be overshadowed.

As the movie gained popularity, Mu Yan was kept busy with various promotional activities.

She had a high exposure rate during this period, and with Wang Linjia’s support, she was often placed in the center of attention at events.

Initially, Wang Linjia’s fans were displeased, thinking that Mu Yan was opportunistic, but Wang Linjia came out to refute all rumors.

She stated that her relationship with Mu Yan was like sisters, she didn’t mind these things, and even asked fans to pay more attention to Mu Yan’s works.

With their idol’s remarks, the fans settled down.

But a few days later, a sudden news broke out online.

”New idol abandons old love to climb the ranks through unspoken rules.”

The M-named actress comes from a poor family, with both parents deceased, her only brother suffering from a heart condition. Doctor X, sympathizing with their plight, took care of her brother. Before M became famous, her relationship with X was widely recognized and acknowledged, until she met Y. She used Y’s connections to rise to prominence as a popular young actress and immediately kicked X to the curb, causing X to nearly lose his job. A girl named Z, who liked X, pleaded for him, only to be set up by M and forced to resign. All in all, M maintained an innocent outward appearance but was actually incredibly scheming, favoring the rich over the poor.

Online users quickly deduced that the M-named actress was Mu Yan.
