A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 380: Chapter 380: Hype

In Li Xinyue’s view, Mu Yan only debuted a little earlier than her, but Mu Yan already has over ten million fans, and she’s been in plenty of movies and TV shows, gaining exposure and popularity.

In contrast, besides the title of a singing competition champion, Li Xinyue has nothing else.

Although she participated in some variety shows and did some press, it was like a stone sinking into the sea without a ripple.

”That’s enough, don’t get too greedy. Know when to stop,” the agent reminded her, ”don’t overexpose yourself.”

Li Xinyue didn’t plan to stop so soon; since it’s a publicity stunt, it’s just getting started.

Only by going all out could she rise to fame in one shot.

The next day, Li Xinyue posted a group of backstage photos with Mu Yan, and added, ”In my heart, you’ve always been the best.”

Mu Yan gained a new understanding of Li Xinyue’s shamelessness, but she was too lazy to stoop to her level.

As the saying goes, people don’t hit smiling faces; if someone praises you and you expose them, that’s a bit too much.

If she jumped out to refute, it would definitely lead to another public spat, which would be exactly what Li Xinyue wanted.

Instead, if she ignored it, the heat of the matter would quickly die down.

However, what Mu Yan didn’t expect was that someone compared their live performance of ”If There is a Next Life” on the show.

The majority praised Li Xinyue’s singing skills, whereas Mu Yan’s singing seemed a bit feeble, lacking the essence of the song.

”Li Xinyue sings beautifully and is humble, I was originally looking forward to Mu Yan’s voice, but... it’s passable at best.”

”No comparison, no harm; Mu Yan is still more suited to acting.”

”If Liu Gaosong heard Mu Yan sing now, would he regret having once invited her to join his studio?”

...

Although Mu Yan only participated in two episodes of ”Voice of Dreams” back then, her performance was remarkable and she was the only contestant who made Liu Gaosong consider taking on a protégé.

Now that Li Xinyue sings better than her, does this prove Liu Gaosong’s judgment was off? Or is Mu Yan’s ability overrated?

Of course, the most important takeaway was how outstanding Li Xinyue’s singing abilities were.

For a time, Li Xinyue was in the limelight.

Anyone not noticing she’s riding the wave is a fool.

Fans were extremely unhappy to see their idol being stepped on like this, and they came out in droves to defend her.

”Who is this Li Xinyue anyway? I don’t even know her. Riding on my Yan Bao’s coattails, how shameless.”

”My Yan Bao is an actress; why does she need to be such a great singer? Besides, using a song you rearranged to bully our Yan Bao, is that the character of a singing competition champion? Ha!”

”Back when Mu Yan was bogged down with scandals, why didn’t you say a word to help her? Now that Mu Yan’s career is booming, you’re latching on to her — isn’t that riding the wave? Cunning woman.”

...

Someone directly took a screenshot of Mu Yan’s reaction to seeing Li Xinyue that day at the event. Although she tried hard to hide it, if you look closely, you can see her body language was stiff and unnatural.

Moreover, during interactions with Li Xinyue, their eyes never met, and her smile was polite yet distant.

All signs indicate that their relationship is really not good.

With things reaching this point, Mu Yan had not made any statements, further confirming this.

By not reacting, Li Xinyue couldn’t act either, and as a result, the situation began to turn one-sided, and the heat subsided.

Probably, Li Xinyue didn’t expect Mu Yan to endure so well; even if she denies it and gets scolded by netizens, it’s better than being ignored.

In fact, Mu Chen suddenly had a heart attack, leaving Mu Yan truly with no time to deal with all this.
