A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 390: Chapter 390 We Are Family!

Hearing Mu Yan’s voice, Zheng Shufen and Wang Cuizhi instantly turned around.

As soon as she saw her, Wang Cuizhi immediately accused, ”Yanyan, what kind of people have you hired, stopping us from visiting Chenchen.”

Zheng Shufen pinched her sister-in-law’s arm and smiled at Mu Yan, ”Yanyan, it’s been a few months, and you’ve become even more beautiful.”

Mu Yan glanced at the two of them and said indifferently, ”The hospital is not a place for your drama, please leave.”

After saying that, she headed towards the ward.

Zheng Shufen’s expression changed slightly and she immediately stopped her.

”Yanyan, what are you talking about? We are Chenchen’s aunts, isn’t it proper for us to come and show some care for him?”

Mu Yan looked at her with a half-smile, ”Have you ever seen anyone visit a patient in broad daylight?”

Zheng Shufen’s face stiffened a little; visiting patients in the afternoon is considered unlucky. She had come in such a hurry today that she had forgotten this.

She immediately changed the subject and asked, ”Yanyan, why did you move without telling us? My uncle and I originally wanted to invite you and Chenchen home for the New Year.”

Mu Yan didn’t believe for a second that she’d be so kind, as the saying goes, unsolicited attention often hides ill intentions.

She said coldly, ”Why do I need to inform you about moving?”

”What are you saying? We are family!” Wang Cuizhi said discontentedly.

Mu Yan knew these two had thick skins and didn’t bother arguing with them.

She moved forward, and Zheng Shufen and Wang Cuizhi blocked her path.

Mu Yan said in a stern tone, ”What do you plan to do?”

”Yanyan, I know we’ve been wrong in the past, but no matter what, we are family, we are Chenchen’s blood relatives,” Zheng Shufen said.

Mu Yan was a bit impatient, ”Speak plainly!”

Wang Cuizhi said directly, ”Now that you’ve made it big and are loaded, you shouldn’t forget about us poor relatives; one should remember the source of the water they drink.”

Mu Yan nodded, looking very much in agreement, ”That’s right.”

Before Zheng Shufen and Wang Cuizhi could show joy, Mu Yan added, ”This Qingming Festival, I’ll burn more paper money for Uncle Mu.”

Wang Cuizhi was infuriated, ”Mu Yan, you...”

Zheng Shufen pushed her, cutting her off.

She pleaded with Mu Yan, ”Yanyan, if it weren’t for the big trouble at home, I wouldn’t be begging you. Your Brother Shi Jun has taken on high-interest debt, if it’s not repaid, those people won’t let him go.”

A glint of sharpness flashed in Mu Yan’s eyes, ”Is that so? Then he’d better be careful.”

She pushed Zheng Shufen aside and walked towards the ward.

”Yanyan, Yanyan, you can’t just watch and do nothing! Your Brother Shi Jun, he...” Zheng Shufen shouted while chasing after her, but a carer stopped her.

Mu Yan ignored her, entered the ward, and closed the door, blocking out the noise outside.

She looked at Mu Chen and said in a deep voice, ”Chenchen, they didn’t come in to bother you, did they?”

”No.” Mu Chen shook his head, ”The carer kept them outside.”

Mu Yan felt relieved and, thinking of Zheng Shufen and Wang Cuizhi’s shrewish behavior earlier, she made a decision in her heart.

”I’ll arrange for you to be transferred to another hospital in the next couple of days.”

Outside, Zheng Shufen and Wang Cuizhi were still making a fuss. Soon, security came and dragged them away.

That evening, Mu Yan went back to the villa and talked to Jiang Jingheng about Mu Chen’s hospital transfer.

Jiang Jingheng had already learned about the afternoon incident from his subordinates, and he asked, ”Were those families particularly bad to you?”

Mu Yan didn’t want to elaborate on past events, and Jiang Jingheng didn’t press her further.

But that night, Mu Yan had a nightmare.
