A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 258: Chapter 258: Coming to the Door!

Shortly after Mu Yan returned to the villa, she saw the clarification statement from the IOC Group.

IOC Group V: We solemnly declare that our president, Mr. Ning Shishen, and Miss Mu are not lovers, nor is there any unspoken rules; they are simply in a business relationship, and everything is purely media speculation. We have issued lawyer’s letters against harmful media and are determined to protect the reputations of Mr. Ning and Miss Mu.

Mu Yan immediately posted on Weibo, attaching evidence to prove her innocence.

Mu Yan V: Are today’s news stories based only on speculation? Is this world only capable of same-gender communication now? Just because a man and a woman talk, it implies a romantic affair? As for Mr. Ning buying me a diamond ring, it’s utter nonsense—if you’re so bold, why didn’t you dare to take a picture of me wearing it?

In fact, I attended an event, needed accessories, and coincidentally ran into Mr. Ning while buying a necklace. Here are the necklace and the receipt, plus photos from the day of the event [Image][Image][Image].

To prove she paid for it, she didn’t even hide her bank card number.

Attentive netizens checked the bank card, verifying it was indeed Mu Yan’s number, and the necklace wasn’t expensive.

Soon after, someone confirmed that Mu Yan did have an event that day, and the clothes she wore in that photo with Ning Shishen were identical to those she wore to the event.

Also, the necklace she wore was indeed an IOC product.

Mu Yan’s Weibo post quickly went viral, with comments rapidly accumulating.

”Yan Bao rightly clapped back! Some media outlets now have no professional ethics at all in order to get views.”

”So since Ning Shishen is the president, Yan Bao can’t talk to him? No matter how high one’s status, isn’t everyone human?”

”I just want to know if Mu Yan hasn’t cleared up the plagiarism issue; does she admit to it by default?”

...

Mu Yan browsed Weibo for a while; her rumor with Ning Shishen was about to end, but the plagiarism issue was unresolved!

The soft spot for all women boils down to three things: family, love, career.

What about Jiang Yuan and Cen Juan?

Song Cheng’an was handling that matter, so she wasn’t too worried.

Unfortunately, despite having a rare free day, she couldn’t go to the hospital to see Mu Chen, fearing she’d be blocked by reporters.

In the living room, Cen Juan was on the phone.

”Don’t worry, I haven’t said anything. I know what’s at stake.”

She hung up the phone, looking at the baby in the crib, her emotions a complicated jumble.

Of course, she knew she was being unfair to Mu Yan, but for this family’s sake, she had no choice.

”Ding dong,” the doorbell suddenly rang.

Cen Juan got up to answer the door, hesitating, could it be Mu Yan again?

She opened the door and saw several men in suits standing outside.

Her expression changed slightly, ”Who are you looking for?”

”We’re looking for you!” the leading man said coldly.

Cen Juan tried to close the door, but it was too late; they seized her and entered the house.

Similarly, Jiang Yuan was dealing with a similar situation.

”This is my home, what are you doing here?” Jiang Yuan shouted angrily, ”Get out! Do you know who my boyfriend is?”

”We do know, and he’s on his way here.”

Jiang Yuan looked at them with shock and suspicion, ”Who are you really?”

Unfortunately, no one answered her.

Later that evening, another news story broke online.

During the IOC advertisement shoot, Mu Yan encountered the senior she supposedly plagiarized from. Due to her grudge from dropping out, she got Ning Shishen to fire her.

And Ning Shishen indeed did so.

Online, a wave of people criticized Mu Yan for being ruthless and Ning Shishen for not discerning right from wrong, claiming the two were in cahoots.

In her apartment, Li Shangjia read the news with a vague sense of unease.

She was fortunate that although her necklace theft was exposed, no evidence was left behind.
