A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 83: Chapter 83 Did I Sleep with Your Dad, or Your Mom?

Mu Yan followed the assistant director towards Chen Zhou, and as she got closer, she heard the producer’s exaggerated voice.

”President Jiang, rest assured, this movie has gathered Director Chen, Li Yushen, Wang Linjia, and other outstanding directors and actors. Its box office appeal will be truly extraordinary, perhaps even becoming a box office legend.”

Mu Yan wasn’t impressed, as there were plenty of cases where films featuring famous directors and actors had flopped.

Not every movie directed by Director Chen was a hit either.

Who can guarantee any movie will be a big hit until the very end?

The assistant director walked ahead and said to Chen Zhou, ”Director Chen, Mu Yan is here.”

Mu Yan quickened her pace and walked over, staring straight at Chen Zhou, ”Director, were you looking for me?”

Chen Zhou said, ”Mu Yan, this is President Jiang.”

Mu Yan looked at Jiang Jingheng and said calmly, ”Hello, President Jiang.”

Jiang Jingheng’s handsome face had already returned to its usual coldness, his light brown eyes showing no emotion, exuding the aloof and detached demeanor of a superior.

He extended his hand and said indifferently, ”Hello, Miss Mu.”

Mu Yan shook his hand naturally, then stood aside as a backdrop.

The producer laughed and said, ”Mu Yan, just now President Jiang happened to see your scene and complimented your acting. You must work hard and not let him down.”

Mu Yan was a bit taken aback, then nodded and said, ”I will, thank you, President Jiang.”

Being complimented by Jiang Jingheng felt strange to her.

It’s not that she looked down on him, but what does a domineering CEO know about acting?

The producer added, ”Since it’s President Jiang’s first time visiting the set, why don’t I take you for a tour around?”

Jiang Jingheng nodded almost imperceptibly and followed the producer, leaving with a large entourage.

Mu Yan watched his back, thinking she had guessed correctly.

Director Chen’s side began filming, and Mu Yan returned to the rest area.

Luo Yao came up, pulled her to sit down, and winked, ”So, are you super excited and happy now?”

Mu Yan looked at her teasing face and replied somewhat perfunctorily, ”It’s alright.”

Luo Yao gave her a peculiar look, could she be overly surprised?

She thought for a moment and asked, ”Are you upset because Young Master Jiang came to the set for business purposes?”

Mu Yan, ”...”

Does she have the right to be so sentimental?

Luo Yao suddenly looked at Mu Yan with an ambiguous expression, ”I suspect Young Master Jiang invested in the entertainment industry because of you. Is that right?”

Mu Yan was drinking water, and with a ”poof,” the water sprayed out of her mouth.

Could her imagination be any more vivid?

Aside from the fact that her marriage with Jiang Jingheng is not what it seems, they didn’t even know each other when Jiang Jingheng decided to invest in the entertainment industry.

Mu Yan noticed two actresses approaching and softly reminded, ”Alright, stop talking.”

Luo Yao followed her gaze and immediately fell silent.

One actress looked at Mu Yan and said sarcastically, ”Someone must be very proud now. Who knows where she got the luck to even get to speak with Young Master Jiang.”

The one beside her chimed in, ”Who knows, maybe she’s hoping to climb up to Young Master Jiang and reach the top.”

”Isn’t it said online that she gets her resources by sleeping with men? With so many people he’s met, how could Young Master Jiang fancy someone like her?”

Mu Yan acted as if she hadn’t heard, opening her thermos to drink water.

Luo Yao couldn’t hold back and angrily said to the two, ”Watch your mouths.”

”If you don’t want people to know, then don’t do it,” one of them sneered. ”Doing shady things and still afraid of being talked about? With her status, if she hasn’t slept with men, could she get a magazine cover? Could she join Director Chen’s crew? Could she have Song Cheng’an as her agent?”

”Who knows, maybe Song Cheng’an is also her lapdog. I really don’t know how her parents taught such a shameless daughter.”

”You’re talking nonsense...” Luo Yao was fuming.

Suddenly, a cold voice overshadowed hers, ”Did I make you so angry because I’ve slept with your dad or your mom?”
