A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Aren’t you Zhou Lifen’s substitute?

”Dragon Soaring” is a film about imperial power struggles, with the palace scenes shot on a film set.

The movie mainly narrates the story of the Emperor of Great Chu, Dragon Soaring, as he faces increasingly rampant power struggles in his old age, reflecting on his life journey from humble beginnings to attaining the highest position.

When Mu Yan and the others arrived, a scene depicting a court struggle was being filmed.

Officials petitioned the Emperor to appoint a Crown Prince, and factions of the Eldest Prince and the Second Prince began to argue directly in the court.

The atmosphere on set was somewhat heavy. After seeing Song Cheng’an’s business card, the staff took them to the resting area.

The aging Emperor, the well-armed princes, the power struggle had almost reached a boiling point.

Mu Yan sat in the resting area, watching the old Emperor on the dragon throne.

Though he was old, his authority remained.

He seemed like an outsider, coldly observing this struggle that would decide the world, as if everything was under his control.

Even if he said nothing, all the focus was on him.

”Cut!” Suddenly, a middle-aged male voice rang out, ”This take is done.”

In an instant, the entire set became lively, and the staff began preparing for the next scene.

Mu Yan regained her senses, the oppressive feeling in her heart disappeared. Is this the acting skill of a film emperor?

She exhaled slowly and then heard Song Cheng’an say, ”Come with me to meet Director Chen.”

”Okay.” Mu Yan nodded, looking towards the monitor, where a thin middle-aged man was talking to someone beside him.

The man appeared to be in his forties or fifties, with a serious expression, not smiling.

She patted her face, trying to perk herself up.

”Don’t be nervous,” Song Cheng’an said this and walked forward.

Mu Yan took a deep breath and followed in his footsteps.

”The next scene needs to be a bit dimmer,” Director Chen Zhou asked one of the assistant directors, ”Is everything okay with He Jianzhou’s side?”

”No problem,” the assistant director replied.

Chen Zhou nodded in satisfaction and then heard the assistant walking over, saying, ”Director Chen, the actress for Princess Qingcheng has arrived.”

”Hello, Director Chen,” Song Cheng’an greeted proactively.

Chen Zhou turned around and saw Song Cheng’an and Mu Yan. His eyes landed on Mu Yan, and he asked, ”Have you memorized all the lines?”

Mu Yan hadn’t expected him to be so direct. She nodded, ”I have memorized them.”

”Good,” Chen Zhou said to the assistant next to him, ”Take her to get changed into costume.”

”Yes,” the assistant turned to Mu Yan and said, ”Miss, please follow me.”

Mu Yan looked at Chen Zhou in surprise, ”Is that all?”

No audition needed?

Song Cheng’an thought Mu Yan was nervous and reminded her, ”Go change. I’ll wait for you here.”

Mu Yan came back to her senses and said to Chen Zhou, ”Hello, Director Chen, nice to meet you. I’m Mu Yan. I’ll need your guidance in the future.”

She bowed and then followed the assistant out.

Chen Zhou seemed not to hear, continuing to talk with the person next to him.

However, Song Cheng’an gave her a glance of surprise, thinking she was quite smart.

In the dressing room, several actresses in heavy costumes were touching up their makeup.

Mu Yan’s entrance inevitably drew their attention.

She took the initiative to greet, ”Hello everyone, I’m Mu Yan. Please take care of me in the future.”

The actresses sized her up, and no one spoke, seemingly pondering who Mu Yan was and which company she belonged to.

Suddenly, a female voice chimed in, ”Aren’t you Zhou Lifen’s double? What are you doing here?”
