The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 295: Chapter 292: Cinderella’s Comeback 37

Anning suddenly became very busy.

Every day, she was busy attending various Olympiad classes.

In addition, she couldn’t neglect other aspects; she had promised Teacher Li that if her grades slipped in the final exams, she would have to drop two Olympiad classes.

While Anning was busy all day, the Gu Family’s steamed buns shop had its opening.

On the opening day, Anning distributed discount cards to all her classmates, who could use these cards to get a 10% discount on the buns.

Her classmates still remembered how delicious the Gu Family’s buns were.

They had been looking forward to the shop’s opening for a while and now that it had finally opened, they definitely wanted to support it.

On the first day of the Gu Family’s buns shop, there was already a queue early in the morning.

It was mainly the parents of her classmates who were lining up.

There was no helping it; their children were clamoring for Gu Family’s buns, and besides, it was their classmate’s family’s shop, so they definitely had to visit.

The students had gone back and told their parents that the Gu Family’s buns certainly didn’t have any additives, that the oil used was high quality, and the dough and meat were the best quality Mr. Gu could find, so they could feel secure about eating them.

To speak of the taste, finding a reliable restaurant nowadays is quite difficult.

The parents thought since their children and the Gu’s children were classmates, they definitely wouldn’t deceive their own children in this regard.

So, these parents waited early in the morning to buy buns for their children’s breakfast.

Even before the shop opened, it was already looking prosperous.

Then, many people who were up early to buy breakfast saw the queue and went over to ask, ”What are you selling here that everyone lined up so early?”

The parents replied, ”They are selling buns. Their buns are exceptionally good, very clean and hygienic, and guaranteed without any additives, so one can definitely eat with peace of mind.”

Those who were curious, and those who were tired of their usual breakfasts, decided to buy some to try.

As a result, the queue grew longer and longer.

Mr. Gu and Mrs. Gu steamed several pots of buns, and once they opened the door, wow, there was already a long line outside.

Mr. Gu was delighted when he saw it.

Mrs. Gu hurriedly took the buns out of the steamer, got everything ready, and let the staff start selling the buns.

Before the door was even opened, the aroma wafted out, truly making everyone’s mouth water.

”Smells so good.”

”How can it smell this good?”

”Where is that smell coming from?”

The passersby followed the delicious scent and found their way here.

The queue grew longer and longer.

Customers who bought buns started eating them right away.

Once they started, the buns they bought were not enough even for themselves, so they finished and got back in line to buy more.

That day, when Anning came back from school, she saw Mr. Gu and Mrs. Gu counting the day’s revenue.

Anning put down her backpack and went over to help.

Nowadays, counting revenue doesn’t require handling cash, as most people pay through WeChat and Alipay, and one only needs to check the amount in the mobile wallet.

Of course, Mr. Gu and Mrs. Gu still counted each transaction to see just how many they had sold.

”Ningning, Ningning...”

Mrs. Gu called out to Anning with a smile on her face: ”I never thought selling buns could earn so much, just today we made nearly ten thousand yuan, and it’s only the first day we opened. It’s only going to get better from here.”

”Uh-huh.” Anning, seeing the pale golden Qi Fortune around Mr. and Mrs. Gu, knew their financial luck was definitely booming: ”You should prepare more for tomorrow, and make sure to maintain strict quality control, don’t get sloppy.”

Mrs. Gu nodded: ”Of course, the key to selling food is that it has to be tasty and clean, we can’t lack in either. We’ll definitely keep the shop spotless and only use the best ingredients.”

Mr. Gu had Anning sit down to discuss with her: ”You know, if we were to expand our bun shop, we’ll definitely need a lot of meat. Buying it from outside isn’t very reliable, so I was thinking, how about we set up our own farm?”

Anning thought about it: ”That could work, but do you guys even have the time? If we are to build a farm, we definitely need reliable people.”

That was also true.

Mr. Gu went through a list of his relatives and friends, and dishearteningly found none were particularly trustworthy.

Mrs. Gu thought about Second Aunt Anning’s character and also sighed.

”Let’s not think about that for now. Let’s focus on running the bun shop well first, make a name for ourselves, and we can think about the rest later.”

Anning stretched her back and said with a smile to Mr. Gu: ”Dad, I’m hungry.”

Mr. Gu hurriedly stood up: ”I’ll go cook something for you.”

Mrs. Gu stopped Mr. Gu: ”No need, I’ll do it. You’re not that strong and you’ve been working all day, you should rest early.”

Mrs. Gu went to the kitchen and busily clanged around; soon, a table full of delicious dishes was ready.

Anning was really hungry and started eating as soon as she sat down.

While eating, she spoke to Mrs. Gu: ”The weather is getting colder, I was thinking besides selling buns, we could also sell some millet porridge and egg soup. Though it won’t earn much, it’ll definitely attract more customers.”

Mrs. Gu thought it made sense; selling just buns was a bit monotonous. As a staple, buns are dry food, surely some soup is needed to accompany them.

Mr. Gu also felt Anning’s idea was sensible: ”Then we could add some pickles. Millet porridge with buns, and a bit of pickle on the side, that would make a complete meal.”

That could work.

Anning put down her chopsticks: ”You guys are too busy, let me handle the pickles. I’ll go to the countryside on Saturday to get some radishes and make pickles.”

”Are you sure you can handle it?”

Mr. Gu was still worried.

Anning smiled: ”Don’t worry, I may not be good at other things, but making pickles? That I can manage. You both are such good cooks, and I am your daughter, I can’t tarnish your reputation.”

Mrs. Gu laughed along.

Thus, the family discussed as they ate. Anning let Mr. and Mrs. Gu rest while she went to the kitchen to wash up.

The next day as soon as Anning entered the classroom, her classmates surrounded her.

One said: ”Anning, your family’s buns are really delicious.”

Another said: ”Anning, is there a home delivery for the buns? Also, can we place pre-orders?”

Others asked: ”What else does your family sell besides buns?”

Anning smiled and answered each question.

Once the classmates dispersed, Anning sat down and considered developing a few new fillings.

Anning thought about it; Mr. and Mrs. Gu might not be suitable for other industries, but when it comes to the food industry, they can succeed. Since they are destined to be tied to buns their whole lives, she decided to strive to expand and strengthen the bun shop into a national franchise chain.

Additionally, Anning was contemplating whether to also make frozen buns like some brands do.

If that’s the case, then they’d need to set up a factory, which could be quite a hassle.

Her thoughts wandered for a while.

Meanwhile, Jiayao finally went to find Qin Minghao, setting aside all her concerns.
