The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 252: Chapter 250: Slapping the Apocalypse Rebirth Girl 31

Nana’s mother decided to give Nana her medication after Anning left.

The relatives accompanying others in the same hospital ward advised her, ”You shouldn’t administer medicine carelessly, your daughter is still so young, what if something goes wrong?”

Nana’s mother smiled and replied, ”This medicine was given by her best friend, she won’t harm her. Besides, the hospital can’t cure her condition either, so we can only hope for the best.”

The other families fell silent upon hearing this.

Nana’s mother and Nana’s father prepared some water to dissolve the pill and gradually fed it to Nana.

After returning, Anning checked the time and called Xiao Yuan, ”Pack up your daily necessities and move over here.”

Xiao Yuan happily agreed, ”Okay.”

Anning added, ”Let Ke’er skip school for the next few days, and Uncle and Auntie shouldn’t go out either. All of you move over here.”

Xiao Yuan knew something must be happening.

Without asking further, after hanging up the phone, he asked his whole family to pack their belongings. It didn’t take them long to move to Anning’s place.

After calling Xiao Yuan, Anning then phoned Yin Baichuan, ”Uncle Yin, would you be interested in staying in the Capital for a few days?”

Yin Baichuan knew Anning well enough to understand her words weren’t without reason.

”Sure, when should I come?”

”Today.”

Anning checked the time, Uncle Yin should go buy the plane tickets now, you’ll likely reach the Capital by this afternoon. Once you have bought your tickets, send me the flight number and I’ll arrange for Xiao Yuan to pick you up.

Anning had deliberated before making the call.

Yin Baichuan and his wife were decent people, having helped Anning quite a bit in the past.

Moreover, this couple had always been involved in charity work, accruing notable merit. Helping them would also be building up her own good deeds.

The Yin family quickly started packing as well.

They booked their flight online; Mrs. Yin and Yin Xiaoxing had their luggage packed, and without having lunch, they went straight to the airport.

When Xiao Yuan’s family moved, it was time for lunch. Anning was preparing lunch in the kitchen when she heard noises and quickly turned off the stove to greet them.

She was still wearing an apron, and her hair was a bit disheveled, but she greeted Xiao Zhiyuan and his wife with a smile, ”Uncle, Auntie, hello.”

Xiao Zhiyuan and his wife had long known about Anning and Xiao Yuan’s relationship, although Anning had not officially visited before. This was their first time seeing Anning. Mrs. Xiao responded with a smile, ”We’re intruding. You’re busy with cooking, need a hand?”

Xiao Ke’er had already taken off her jacket and was heading towards the kitchen, ”Sister-in-law, let me help you.”

Anning nodded with a smile, ”Sure.”

She then told Xiao Zhiyuan and his wife, ”Please have a seat.”

Xiao Zhiyuan gestured, ”Don’t mind us, carry on with your work.”

Anning then joined Xiao Ke’er in the kitchen.

She nearly finished cooking, and Xiao Ke’er helped with things like carrying plates and serving rice. Soon, the meal was ready, and Anning called Jixiang and Ru Yi to eat together.

At the dining table, Xiao Zhiyuan had some questions, but he did not ask Anning.

It wasn’t until after the meal, when Xiao Yuan went to wash dishes, that Xiao Zhiyuan finally found the time to ask Anning, ”Is there some kind of disturbance?”

Anning poured a glass of water and handed it over, ”There’s a minor disturbance, but don’t worry, I asked you all to come over so I could look after you better.”

Xiao Zhiyuan nodded, ”We’ll be troubling you for the next few days.”

”It’s no trouble.”

Anning smiled and invited Xiao Ke’er to sit besides her, ”Uncle and Auntie, try to stay indoors these next few days. I have stocked up plenty of food and drinks at home. I’ve also bought mahjong and playing cards in case you get bored.”

”Sure.”

Xiao Zhiyuan agreed with marked seriousness.

In the afternoon, Yin Baichuan arrived with his family.

Anning arranged rooms for them, and in the evening, Mrs. Yin and Mrs. Xiao prepared dinner together.

Both were very warm and amiable individuals, familiar with each other, so they easily struck up conversation.

After dinner, Yin Baichuan and his wife joined Xiao Zhiyuan and his wife for some mahjong, while Anning watched for a while before taking Xiao Ke’er out for a walk.

Xiao Yuan watched Anning and Xiao Ke’er leave, wanting to go out too, but Jixiang and Ru Yi kept him occupied, so he stayed home to watch the kids.

The next day, neither of the families went out, only Anning and Xiao Yuan drove out to buy some more items.

Xiao Yuan also called Xie Yi to ensure they stocked up on food and drinks and advised them to stay indoors the next few days.

Su Leqing had already prepared everything necessary at her end.

On this day, she moved in together with her parents and the Yu family.

Yu Ping did not know why they had to live together, but Su Leqing simply said it was good for everyone to gather together as there were enough rooms at home, and the house could accommodate many people, making it lively for a few days.

Although Yu Ping found it strange, he did not ask further.

That night, just after dinner, Yu Daya and Yu Erya said they wanted to go outside for a walk when they suddenly heard a shrill scream from outside.

Yu Ping hurriedly opened the door to check, and Su Leqing quickly pulled him back: ”Don’t, don’t go out.”

Su Peng had already walked to the window, and through it, he saw a man by the roadside holding a woman and biting her.

The biting man looked up, and Su Peng stepped back in fright: ”What, what is that thing?”

Su Leqing went over to take a look: ”That should be a zombie.”

His complexion was pale, his eyes bulged out, and there were some rot marks on his face, and his movements were sluggish, clearly no longer human.

Yu Daya and Yu Erya were watching the scene, screaming in fright.

”What, what exactly is going on?”

Father Yu was still somewhat bewildered.

Mother Yu was already sitting on the ground, crying and slapping her legs: ”What are these things, how can there be such man-eating things, I said we should stay in the countryside, but you insisted on coming to the city, just look now, we can’t stay in the city.”

Su Leqing was annoyed, she turned her head and glared fiercely at Mother Yu: ”Shut up.”

Mother Yu was so frightened that she immediately stopped talking.

Su Leqing instructed Yu Ping: ”Hurry and lock the door, do not open it for anyone knocking, also...”

Yu Ping immediately locked the door and, to be safe, also barricaded it with a table.

Zhao Su and Su Peng were also terrified, the two of them sat on the couch and remained silent for a long time.

Su Leqing sat next to Su Peng, she called Yu Ping over: ”I heard something was about to happen a while ago, but I never expected it to be the apocalypse, that thing outside is a zombie, there are probably not just that one, I don’t know how many there are in this neighborhood, definitely more outside, we now must unite and cooperate, only then can we survive.”

Father Yu and Mother Yu were at a loss, and Yu Ping was also very scared, now everyone listened to Su Leqing.

After sitting for a while, Su Leqing said: ”Alright, everyone go rest, tomorrow we will go out together and kill the zombies, the zombies are slow now, we should kill as many as we can, otherwise it will be more troublesome once they evolve.”

Yu Ping, having been a soldier, regained his courage after calming down: ”Okay, let’s rest first, tomorrow we go out and see.”

However, in the middle of the night, Su Leqing heard noises outside the door.

She woke Yu Ping, and the two of them took the knives placed in the room and opened the bedroom door to go out.

The lights outside were on, and once out, the sounds grew louder.

Su Leqing recognized it was coming from the living room, she dragged Yu Ping to check, and what they saw truly terrified them.

It turned out that Su Daya and Su Erya had turned into zombies.

Because they were scared, they slept in the same room tonight, it was unknown whether one of them turned into a zombie and bit the other, or if both changed at the same time.

The two zombies were roaming in the room, occasionally roaring.

”Sister...”

When Yu Ping saw his sisters had become zombies, he panicked and tried to go to them, breaking away from Su Leqing.

Su Leqing quickly held him back: ”Don’t, don’t go, they are already zombies, they don’t recognize anyone, if you get bitten, you will, you will become like them too.”

At this moment, Father Yu, Mother Yu, and the Su Peng couple also came out.

Seeing two zombies wandering, these four people were also terrified.

”What, what should we do?”

Mother Yu asked Su Leqing, trembling.

Su Leqing gritted her teeth: ”We can only kill them.”

”No way.”

Mother Yu immediately objected: ”These are my daughters, they...”

”They are no longer human.”

Su Leqing fiercely said: ”We must resolve this quickly, otherwise what if others get infected? Do you want to become zombies?”

Mother Yu fell silent.

Father Yu said even less.

Su Leqing picked up a knife and said to Yu Ping: ”The two of us, one each, let’s finish this quickly.”

Yu Ping nodded.

The two, armed with knives, moved forward, and Yu Daya and Yu Erya charged at them roaring.

Su Leqing, having experienced the apocalypse, was much braver than the others, and she had killed zombies before, she had the skills; Yu Ping was strong and had been a soldier, so killing zombies worked as well.

The two of them quickly dealt with Yu Daya and Yu Erya.
