The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 254: Chapter 252: Slapping the Apocalypse Rebirth Girl 33

Anning saw a long queue of people outside her house when she returned to the neighborhood.

She approached them with confusion and learned that these people were there to collect medicine.

It turned out that many people in the neighborhood had turned into zombies.

At that time, the communication devices were still intact, and people could talk normally. A few in the neighborhood took the lead in proposing to deal with these zombies collectively.

However, Xiao Zhiyuan stood out and mentioned that a zombie was found at his home, but it had recovered after taking the medicine.

Those whose family members had turned into zombies, not knowing whether to kill or to tie them up, immediately rushed to Anning’s house to get the medicine.

Since these people had turned into zombies, and it seemed incurable, they thought it was worth trying the medicine as a last resort. If the medicine worked, it would be incredibly fortunate; if not, killing was the only option left.

With this mindset, many families came to get the medicine.

Xiao Yuan did not hide it; before Anning left, she had given him a large bottle of medicine, enough to distribute.

After determining which families had zombies, he dispensed the medicine accordingly.

The first group of zombies who took the medicine quickly regained their senses. This news spread far and wide, attracting even those from distant places to come and get the medicine, including those whose relatives’ homes had zombies.

After understanding the situation, Anning made a phone call to Xiao Yuan.

Soon after, Xiao Yuan came out of the house, looking very happy to see Anning: ”You’re back.”

Anning smiled, stood beside Xiao Yuan, and loudly addressed the bustling crowd: ”Everyone, please, don’t panic, and don’t queue up for the medicine. I have already passed the prescription to the government. The government is accelerating the production of the medicine. It won’t be long before it is delivered to every household. Please just wait patiently. Moreover, I don’t have much medicine left, and it’s possible that not everyone in line will receive it.”

Upon hearing that the national production of the medicine was organized, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

At this point, people still had great confidence in the credibility of the government.

And everyone knew that when the nation takes action, it would be swift.

In such a crisis affecting the whole nation, the government would not waste a single minute and would surely produce and distribute the medicine as quickly as possible.

Hence, after contemplating for a while, those in line dispersed.

It was also fortunate that at this time, the zombies were particularly slow and clumsy, and had not evolved any superpowers yet, which somewhat reduced people’s fear of zombies. They thought of tying them up for a few days and waiting to get the medicine.

Not only did Anning urge the community not to panic, she also helped maintain order along with the Xiao Family and the Yin Family. The government also began to promote calm.

Laboratory pharmacists worked overtime to produce a batch of the medicine as quickly as possible. Following that, the government reached out to several existing pharmaceutical factories to assist in the production.

Within a few days, batches of the medicine were distributed.

Of course, it was not distributed from the Capital. With communication devices in perfect order and government institutions still intact, upper administrative departments organized local governments to produce and distribute the medicine directly.

The government acted very swiftly.

In this dire crisis, no officials behaved irresponsibly or deceitfully, and even the pharmaceutical plant owners did not dare to cut corners. With everyone’s concerted effort, within a few days, those who had turned into zombies began to recover.

Even patients in hospitals who had been in a comatose state began to recover one by one.

The emergency was lifted, and the Xiao family moved back to their own residence, while Yin Baichuan’s family stayed a few more days before returning to South City.

Meanwhile, a sum of money was deposited into Anning’s account, and the government also awarded her a medal of honor.

Anning instantly became a hero to the people, while Su Leqing faced tough times.

When the medication was distributed, and those who had turned into zombies returned to normal, Father Yu and Mother Yu started causing trouble.

After all, it was Su Leqing who had insisted on killing their daughters, Daya and Erya, when they turned into zombies.

But now what?

It turns out zombies can be cured; it’s just a disease, affecting those with low resistance to the Zombie Virus, and they can quickly return to normal after taking the medicine.

If Daya and Erya had not been killed, they would be well now.

Thinking that their living daughters died under Su Leqing’s knife, Father Yu and Mother Yu almost hated her to death.

Even though they favored sons over daughters, those were still their own daughters; even if they valued their son more, they didn’t wish for their daughters to die, as parents, they at least had a bit of love for their daughters.

Yu Ping saw Su Leqing differently now too.

He thought about his normally loving sisters who died like this, feeling self-blame and regret.

He hated Su Leqing for her ruthless and decisive actions, not clarifying the situation before killing his sisters.

Several households in the community also had relatives who became zombies, but they couldn’t bear to kill them and instead tied them up; just enduring for a couple of days until they got the medication, those people then returned to normal.

If he had also tied up his sisters at that time, they would still be alive today.

Yu Ping grew to hate Su Leqing, and with his mother whispering complaints in his ear, his hatred for Su Leqing only intensified.

It wasn’t just the Yu family that hated Su Leqing.

Su Peng and his wife, Zhao Fang, also blamed Su Leqing.

What nonsense apocalypse, didn’t the country get it under control in just a few days?

If they hadn’t listened to Su Leqing back then, hadn’t sold off company shares and property and jewelry, they would still be the prominent Su family, not left with nothing like now.

Don’t tell them that Su Leqing still kept a stash of supplies.

What use were those supplies?

Were they lacking food or clothing, with no apocalypse and the country stable and peaceful, what use was there for supplies?

However, Su Peng was still contemplating selling the items from Su Leqing’s stash over time, thus he did not express his grievances outwardly.

And at this time, several families in the community whose relatives were killed by Su Leqing thinking they were zombies, were now blocking Su family’s house demanding accountability from Su Leqing.

They saw other families’ zombies reverting to normal.

Thinking about their own dead relatives, they were nearly crying to death.

They blocked the entrance to Su’s house, crying and repeatedly accusing Su Leqing of her crimes.

A few sharp-tongued women held banners while shouting: ”Let Su Leqing come out, murderer, killer, why don’t you go die? We want to call the police, make you spend your life in jail.”

”Murderer, are you heartless? You killed your own relatives, how dare you interfere with our family? I said not to kill, yet you threatened us, barged into my house and killed my sister, my own sister is gone, I will not let this go...”

”How dare you kill my mother, come out, you must pay for what you’ve done.”

Su Leqing didn’t dare to come out, she hid inside her house, covering herself with a blanket, shivering.

”How could this be? How could this be?”

She cried and exclaimed: ”The apocalypse has been going on for years, but why did it just start and then end now? Where is the apocalypse? Where is Yu Ping’s superpower?”
