The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 291: Chapter 288: Cinderella’s Comeback 33

Ming Hao was feeling annoyed inside and had a particular distaste for Zhao Haichao.

And Ren Jiayao kept nagging him not to target Zhao Haichao, which really angered Ming Hao.

He is a young master spoiled by his family, and although he didn’t have malicious intentions, he could be terrifying when he really got angry.

At that moment, Ming Hao swept all the dishes on the table to the ground, his eyes bloodshot as he viciously stared at Ren Jiayao: ”What do you know, babbling nonsense here. If you help him again...”

He pointed at Zhao Haichao: ”If you speak up for him again, then we’re breaking up.”

Zhong Boyang understood Ming Hao’s feelings.

He shook his head silently, repeatedly sighing as he looked at Ren Jiayao.

Zhao Haichao’s face was ashen. He stood up and aimed a punch at Ming Hao.

Ming Hao dodged and started throwing punches towards Zhao Haichao.

Ren Jiayao screamed in fright.

This only annoyed Ming Hao even more.

He held down Zhao Haichao and beat him up, then tidied up his clothes after finishing: ”Zhao, don’t let me see you again, or I’ll beat you every time I do.”

He and Zhong Boyang stepped over the mess and left.

Ren Jiayao wanted to help Zhao Haichao get up, but hesitated looking at Ming Hao.

Lying on the ground, Zhao Haichao groaned and slowly stood up.

He looked at Ren Jiayao with great pain.

Ren Jiayao handed him a tissue, and Zhao Haichao wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, a sharp light flashing in his eyes.

He didn’t linger and turned to leave.

The students from Shengzhe witnessed everything and didn’t dare breath too loudly, afraid of becoming the target of these people’s rage.

Ren Jiayao stood awkwardly for a while, then bit her lip and left as well.

Zhao Haichao entered the rest room.

But he didn’t close the door, and after a while, Ren Jiayao came in too.

”Are you okay?”

After closing the door, Ren Jiayao asked Zhao Haichao with concern.

Zhao Haichao was disheartened: ”Aren’t you afraid to deal with me? Why care about me now?”

Ren Jiayao walked over to Zhao Haichao, squatting down with a sad face, and gently took his hand: ”I was just terrified. I didn’t expect him to lose his temper like that, really.”

Zhao Haichao saw the concern in Ren Jiayao’s eyes and his frustration dissipated.

He looked at Ren Jiayao: ”He doesn’t really love you, can’t you see that? If he truly loved someone, how could he bear to let her suffer? Ming Hao scolded you in front of so many people, showing that he doesn’t care about you at all. Yaoyao, don’t you understand? Besides, he has violent tendencies, you... If you really end up with him, you’ll suffer a lot. Aren’t you afraid?”

Tears streamed down from Ren Jiayao’s eyes.

She cried and shook her head: ”No, that’s not true, it won’t be like that. He likes me, he’s never been false with other women, he’s only ever been good to me, he must like me. He just has a bad temper, as long as I’m careful not to make him angry, he won’t...”

Zhao Haichao seized Ren Jiayao’s hand: ”Yaoyao, it’s not like that. Did I provoke him today? Yet, didn’t he turn on me just like that? He was born with that temper, no matter who it is, as soon as he’s not pleased, he’ll vent his anger on you. Yaoyao, look carefully, it’s me who truly loves you, never him. I’m no worse than he is, I will love you well, and I can give you no less than he can.”

Ren Jiayao was still crying.

But she didn’t reject Zhao Haichao’s intimacy.

”No, I love him, I really love him so much, no matter what his temper is like, I love him.”

Zhao Haichao became frantic.

On top of being beaten up by Ming Hao today, his hatred for Ming Hao deepened.

Listening to Ren Jiayao stating her love for Ming Hao word by word, Zhao Haichao couldn’t take it anymore.

Anning and Wu Linna stood in the corridor talking.

Wu Linna asked Anning if she had any plans for Saturday: ”If you’re free, come with me to buy some clothes. The ones I bought last year are a bit small now.”

Anning thought for a moment: ”I’m afraid I can’t, I have Olympiad Mathematics classes on Saturday and Sunday.”

Wu Linna seemed disappointed: ”Alright, then you go to your class. I’ll ask someone else.”

Anning was about to say something to Wu Linna, but An Xin appeared.

”Ningning, there’s a situation.”

Anning then smiled at Wu Linna and said: ”Let’s go back to the classroom, I need to finish my homework quickly.”

Once inside the classroom, Anning sat down and asked An Xin: ”What happened?”

An Xin said with a hint of boastfulness: ”I’ve found out who the real culprit is behind the scenes.”

A glint of killing intent flashed in Anning’s eyes: ”Who is it?”

An Xin said pridefully: ”It’s a girl named Ren Jiayao. She’s Qin Minghao’s girlfriend, and Zhao Haichao likes her.”

That explained why Zhao Haichao was targeting her.

Ren Jiayao must have noticed something; she complained in front of Zhao Haichao, saying that Zhao Haichao loved her too much, and that’s probably why he targeted the original Anning, to make Ren Jiayao happy.

Moreover, Ren Jiayao must have done it deliberately for Zhao Haichao to hear.

Otherwise, Anning didn’t believe Ren Jiayao would have been unaware of the original Anning being bullied at school.

If Ren Jiayao were truly kind-hearted, she would have stopped Zhao Haichao, but she never said a word to stop him.

Anning sneered coldly, she would not let either Ren Jiayao or Zhao Haichao off the hook.

An Xin showed Anning the surveillance footage she had gathered.

From Qin Minghao getting angry at lunchtime to Zhao Haichao and Ren Jiayao kissing in the lounge, Anning watched everything without saying a word.

She stood up, went to the office, asked the teacher for a leave, and then went home.

In the residential complex, Anning bumped into Xiao Yuan.

Xiao Yuan must be about to travel far again; he wore a black coat, with Zhang Yongxing following him carrying his suitcase.

”Are you going out?”

Anning approached to greet him.

Xiao Yuan nodded: ”I’m going to Shanghai for a few days.”

He noticed Anning’s complexion wasn’t very good: ”Why did you come back early? Are you sick?”

”No.”

Anning shook her head, but Xiao Yuan had already grabbed her right hand, his fingers resting on her wrist.

After a moment, Xiao Yuan finally breathed a sigh of relief: ”Indeed, nothing’s wrong, but you need to rest more. Your complexion looks very poor.”

”Okay.”

Anning agreed with a smile.

Xiao Yuan leaned in and whispered in Anning’s ear: ”I’ve left the key under the doormat in front of the door; remember to take it.”

His warm breath on Anning’s earlobe made her feel ticklish, and she couldn’t help but shrink her neck and take a couple of steps back, putting a little distance between them.

Xiao Yuan looked quite disappointed.

Anning smiled at him: ”Okay, I’ll remember. You have to treat me to a meal when you get back.”

”Sure.”

Xiao Yuan stretched out his hand to ruffle Anning’s hair, his eyes filled with doting tenderness: ”It’s cold outside, hurry back.”
