The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 163: Chapter 162: Slapping the Fake Daughter 63

Song Ruyi stood up to pull Liu Mingzhu: ”Come with me.”

Liu Mingzhu unwilling to get up: ”Mom, I’m hungry, I haven’t eaten yet.”

Song Ruyi took a deep breath, thought about it, and sat back down.

She took out her cell phone and called Zhao Han: ”Husband, I am now at... you hurry over, there’s something important.”

Zhao Han was almost driven crazy with busyness.

But still, Song Ruyi’s call made him leave his work and drive over immediately.

By the time he arrived, the food had already been served, and Liu Mingzhu was eating.

Her eating manners were not good, almost wolfing down the food, clearly famished.

Song Ruyi didn’t eat, just sat back in her chair staring at Liu Mingzhu.

”What’s wrong?”

Zhao Han came and paused at the sight of Liu Mingzhu.

Liu Mingzhu looked up, swallowing the food in her mouth: ”Dad.”

Zhao Han sat next to Song Ruyi: ”What’s the matter?”

Song Ruyi whispered to Zhao Han what Liu Mingzhu had told her, and pointed at Liu Mingzhu: ”Ask her carefully again.”

Zhao Han’s face darkened: ”Mingzhu, explain carefully, what exactly happened that year? How did the Liu Family find you? What did they all say?”

Liu Mingzhu took a sip of water, she hadn’t finished eating, but stopped to answer Zhao Han’s questions.

She put her chopsticks down, sat upright: ”That year, I went out with friends, while others went to buy stuff, I sat waiting, and the Liu Family suddenly came out and stopped me. They told me a lot, saying I was their daughter, mistakenly taken to the Zhao Family at birth. I didn’t believe them, I was almost going to call the police.”

Liu Mingzhu cautiously looked at Zhao Han: ”But, they said so much, even the birthmarks on my body they described clearly, I... I was afraid what they said was true, so I agreed to a paternity test with them.”

Listening to this, Zhao Han’s face turned uglier.

What does this mean? It means that at that time the Liu Family clearly knew about the child mix-up.

If they remembered the birthmarks on Liu Mingzhu’s body, why would they mistakenly recognize Anning?

They clearly did it on purpose.

Liu Mingzhu lowered her head, hiding the hatred in her eyes.

The Liu Family thought by threatening her, taking her house selling money, they could live freely, how wishful they were.

Now she, Liu Mingzhu, is just a child, she has no ability to get that money back, nor to do anything to the Liu Family.

However, she had always believed in an eye for an eye, she might not be able to do anything to the Liu Family, but she could utilize others to execute her revenge.

She would use the hands of the Zhao Family to make the Liu Family pay.

”Is everything you said true?”

Zhao Han asked again.

Liu Mingzhu nodded emphatically: ”Dad, everything I said is true, I absolutely didn’t lie to you. At that time I was really scared out of my wits, didn’t think carefully, I was afraid you would drive me away once you knew I wasn’t your biological child, so I didn’t dare to tell when I came back. Later... they exploited this and demanded money from me several times.”

Upon saying this, Liu Mingzhu started crying again: ”Now that I think about it, I realize that it was definitely intentional back then... I’m sorry, because of my cowardice, my sister has suffered for so many years, I’m sorry to her, but I didn’t want this either.”

Liu Mingzhu acted very innocently, very pitifully.

She knew, by saying this, Zhao Han probably wouldn’t pursue her responsibility anymore.

After all, she’s just a child, who was a powerless baby when the mix-up happened, you can’t blame her for this.

”I will investigate this thoroughly.”

Zhao Han clenched his fists: ”If this is true, I will not spare anyone from the Liu Family.”

Song Ruyi turned her face away, she dared not look at Liu Mingzhu.

She feared that just a glance would soften her heart, make her think about supporting Liu Mingzhu.

Although the child-swapping incident wasn’t her fault, Song Ruyi could not forgive Liu Mingzhu for hiding this for so many years.

Moreover, the reason Anning was wrongly taken was entirely Liu Family’s fault. If Liu Mingzhu is the child of the Liu Family, if she is treated well, then where does that leave Anning?

Song Ruyi couldn’t bear to stab her own biological daughter in the heart, so she had to give up on Liu Mingzhu.

After Liu Mingzhu finished her meal, Song Ruyi and Zhao Han left.

As they were leaving, Liu Mingzhu also followed them out.

With a reluctant expression, she said, ”Mom, I... I won’t come back to make trouble, I beg you, help me just one more time, please...”

Zhao Han, seeing Song Ruyi’s obvious reluctance, thought for a moment and then said to Liu Mingzhu, ”Sell the necklace I gave you for your birthday last year. It’s quite valuable and should be enough for you to live on for a few years until you come of age to earn your own money.”

Liu Mingzhu was stunned: ”Dad, are you...really abandoning me? Are you not even keeping the necklace you gifted me for my birthday?”

Zhao Han hardened his heart: ”This is the only choice you have.”

After saying this, he pulled Song Ruyi and walked away.

Liu Mingzhu leaned against the wall and laughed for a long time.

She knew it would be like this.

Zhao Han and Song Ruyi look gentle and elegant and seem to have a good temper, but they are incredibly stubborn. Once they make a decision, it’s hard to change.

She had already anticipated this outcome when she approached Song Ruyi.

But she still couldn’t reconcile with it.

She wanted to try again, success or not, she was determined to ensure the Liu Family would never have peace.

Thinking that taking her house would solve everything?

Liu Mingzhu’s belongings are hers to give as she sees fit; if she doesn’t want to give them, forcing her will make sure nobody has a good time.

The things forced out of her will turn from honey into arsenic.

That night, Anning returned from the laboratory, and An Xin reported to her about Liu Mingzhu seeking out Song Ruyi.

Because there were no cameras where Song Ruyi and Liu Mingzhu had their conversation, An Xin didn’t know what they had talked about.

Anning had just finished taking a shower and was drying her hair when she received the report from An Xin.

While drying her hair, she laughed: ”It’s just using others to do her dirty work, a tactic Liu Mingzhu has always been good at, she probably wants to target the Liu Family.”

An Xin pouted: ”You always guess it correctly; it’s no fun.”

Anning laughed and praised An Xin a few times, then said, ”Hand over the evidence of the Liu Family deliberately switching babies years ago to the Detective Agency.”

An Xin immediately went to take care of it.

Anning shook her head with a smile: ”Foolish.”

Zhao Han, a couple of days later, received an email from the Detective Agency containing evidence of the Liu Family’s baby-switching.

Zhao Han was furious.

He immediately reported it to the police.

If the baby-switching years ago was accidental, nobody could be blamed.

But if the Liu Family had intentionally taken Anning away, it would be considered human trafficking, a serious crime.

After reporting to the police, Zhao Han still felt unresolved.

He called the Liu Family’s ancestral home to find out about their current circumstances.

Zhao Han thought the Liu Family, having taken Liu Mingzhu’s house-selling money, must be living comfortably.

To his surprise, after finding out the situation, he couldn’t help but laugh and praise, ”Heaven has eyes.”

Life for the Liu Family was not easy.

Initially, after receiving the house money, they indulged in extravagances, buying lots of luxury items, and Liu Qing also began to spend money recklessly, buying whatever he wanted.

But that money was quickly gone, and they had to return to their former poor lives.

If they hadn’t experienced wealth, they might have endured the poor life, but after sudden wealth, returning to poverty is something even Mr. Liu, Mrs. Liu, and especially Liu Qing, the first to disagree, found unbearable.
