The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 153: Chapter 153: Slapping the Fake Heiress 54

The robot, with its battery installed, opened its eyes and spoke in a distinctly mechanical, cold voice: ”Please name me.”

Anning said two words: ”Xiao Xin.”

”Xiao Xin at your service.”

The robot was particularly responsive, even extending a hand to shake with Anning.

Seeing the robot’s nimble movements, not only Xiao Yuan and the others, but even Zhao Han was stunned.

”Help me tidy up the living room.”

Anning instructed.

The robot immediately started moving around the living room.

A disc extended from its body, which soon functioned as a vacuum cleaner, cleaning the living room floor exceptionally clean.

Afterward, the robot began to tidy up the somewhat messy table, then started cleaning the windows.

The robot worked incredibly quickly and efficiently, cleaning the house very cleanly.

Zhang Ke watched dumbfounded.

He approached Anning: ”I must say, this is too intelligent.”

”I’ve been studying artificial intelligence lately.”

Anning explained, causing an excited Zhang Ke to reach for Anning’s hand: ”Anning, make one for me too, please...”

Seeing this, Xiao Yuan was about to pull Zhang Ke.

But Robot Xiao Xin was even faster than Xiao Yuan.

Its whole body jumped to Anning’s side, then one of the robot’s hand pushed Zhang Ke away, standing in front of Anning: ”Master, Xiao Xin will protect you.”

”This Combat Power is pretty good.”

Zhao Han found it more and more fascinating.

Anning smiled: ”I made this robot especially for single women. Normally, it can clean the house, do household chores, etc., and when going out, it can also act as a bodyguard. It’s truly versatile.”

She thought for a moment, then said to Xiao Xin: ”I’m a bit bored now, and also feeling a bit down. Can you cheer me up?”

Immediately, Xiao Xin began to sing, belting out several popular songs, making Anning laugh.

It seemed to fear Anning was not amused enough, danced a bit, and then started telling jokes.

Not just Anning, but Song Ruyi burst into laughter first.

Zhao Han was particularly interested, whispering to Anning: ”Does this robot consume a lot of power? How long can one battery last? How is it recharged?”

Xiao Yuan also asked: ”If it consumes a lot of power and needs frequent recharging, it might need further improvement.”

The Xiao Family also owns a factory specializing in electronic products, and Xiao Hongyi has invested in artificial intelligence research in the last two years, so Xiao Yuan is well-versed in this area.

He looked at the robot made by Anning, full of surprise and pride.

The Xiao Family had invested so much money and researched for many years, but the robot they developed was no match for the one Anning made in just a month, showing Anning’s extraordinary talent in artificial intelligence.

Having been asked by Zhao Han and Xiao Yuan, Anning naturally gave a thoughtful response.

”It doesn’t need recharging; the robot uses solar cells. Just let it bask in the sun daily, and that should suffice for its energy.”

Thinking further, Anning added: ”Its power consumption is not high. Generally, sunbathing daily, it won’t need recharging for a year.”

Xiao Yuan squinted his eyes.

He saw a business opportunity here.

He pulled Anning aside: ”This battery... could you tell me more about it, I’m very interested.”

Anning nodded.

She instructed Xiao Xin to shut down and then removed the battery from Xiao Xin.

Zhao Han also leaned in to take a look.

The battery in Xiao Xin was particularly small, about just a bit bigger than a button. If Anning hadn’t mentioned that this was the battery of a robot, probably no one would think of it that way.

”This is it.”

Anning pointed to the battery: ”Inside here is the new technology I’ve developed. This battery is extremely good at absorbing solar energy and can fully utilize it. It’s even used to power the robot to do a lot of work, which is why it needs to be regularly exposed to sunlight. If it were used in cell phones or other electronic devices, it could probably last for several years without needing a recharge.”

Xiao Yuan was profoundly shaken.

Zhao Han carefully took the battery and looked it over.

He held it in his hand very cautiously, as if he was holding a priceless treasure.

”Not bad.”

Zhang Ke patted Anning on the shoulder: ”Coming up with such black technology, you’re simply too incredible. Now I understand, the gap between people can be so huge.”

Song Ruyi laughed, making her appear radiant yet frail.

Xiao Yuan was silent for a while, then said to Anning, ”Do you understand what this battery represents?”

Anning blinked, feigning ignorance: ”It’s just a solar battery, what could it represent?”

Xiao Yuan touched his forehead: ”This is not just any battery, let me put it to you this way—just this battery technology alone could bring you nearly a hundred billion in revenue, do you believe that?”

”That’s impossible, right?”

Anning knew it clearly in her heart, but her current persona couldn’t collapse, so she had to play dumb: ”Who would be so foolish to spend a hundred billion on a battery? Besides, who has that kind of money?”

Anning looked Xiao Yuan up and down: ”You haven’t gone mad, have you?”

Zhao Han said seriously, ”Xiao Yuan is right. This battery is incredibly significant and valuable.”

He reluctantly looked at the robot Xiao Xin: ”Ningning, this robot cannot be used in the competition. The technology inside is too important, it’s not yet time to release it to the public. If you want to join the competition, you will have to make a simpler one.”

Anning looked at Zhao Han, then at Xiao Yuan: ”Are you serious?”

Xiao Yuan rarely was this earnest: ”Yes, uncle is right, this robot cannot participate in the contest.”

He then sternly warned Zhang Ke: ”You mustn’t speak of Xiao Xin’s matter, or I won’t forgive you.”

Zhang Ke made a zip-your-lip gesture: ”Don’t worry, I can keep a secret.”

Xiao Yuan pulled Anning aside and whispered, ”You know that smartphone batteries don’t last, right? If you look at your phone all day, it needs to be charged daily. If you could make a phone that doesn’t need charging, that would definitely revolutionize the smartphone industry. If this battery were to be produced, executives from major domestic and international phone brands would seek you out, you would have a monopoly.”

Only then Anning lifted her hand: ”I know, monopoly means huge profits.”

”Yes.”

Xiao Yuan continued, ”Don’t talk about this yet, let uncle help you apply for a patent first, then think about setting up a battery factory. Once the batteries are actually being produced, you can contact various major phone brands. Anning, you will soon become a billionaire.”

Anning didn’t seem overly excited; she tilted her head and thought: ”Troublesome.”

Xiao Yuan waited a moment and then asked seriously again, ”Can this be mass-produced?”

If the battery could be mass-produced, then it would certainly bring Anning wealth to rival a nation.

If only Anning could produce it, then it was a different matter; it could only be seen as a trinket, or possibly be turned over to the national scientific research institutions for study.

Anning smiled, ”It can be done, actually it’s quite simple to make, let me tell you how.”

Xiao Yuan quickly stopped Anning: ”You don’t need to tell me, and I don’t want to know. This is a trade secret; you must keep it confidential.”

Anning rolled her eyes at Xiao Yuan: ”With your intelligence, even if I told you, you wouldn’t understand.”

Being disparaged about his intelligence, Xiao Yuan was quite helpless: ”Okay, I get it, you’re a genius, but you don’t have to attack me personally like that.”
