The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 155: Chapter 154: Slapping the Fake Daughter 55_2

Zhao Han came out of the study and saw Song Ruyi sitting in the living room, talking with Zhao Mingrui.

He walked over with a smile, sat down next to Song Ruyi, and whispered, ”Wife, our daughter is truly amazing.”

Song Ruyi frowned, ”Alright, I already know, you don’t have to get so excited about it.”

Zhao Mingrui must have also known about Anning’s robot-making. He was especially proud and happy, ”Dad, my sis is so cool. With her IQ, her learning ability, and her hands-on skills, do you think I’ll be able to use a mecha that she made for me within my lifetime?”

Song Ruyi slapped Zhao Mingrui on the head, ”What are you talking about? Always talking about your sister. Do you plan to rely on her for your whole life? If you don’t study hard and end up achieving nothing, let’s see if Ningning will bother with you.”

Zhao Mingrui wasn’t upset and laughed, ”Mom, our family only needs my sis, she’s so formidable. She already managed to build a robot after studying for such a short time. Who knows what she’ll achieve in a few more years? Mom, my sis is destined to be a figure who’ll go down in history. I, Zhao Mingrui, will also be remembered in the history books. Although it might just state that I’m Zhao Anning’s brother, I’m happy about it. No matter the reason, I’ll be able to leave my name in history.”

At his words, Zhao Han continued to chuckle foolishly, ”Yes, yes, that means your mom and I will also go down in history.”

”Right, right.”

Zhao Mingrui eagerly nodded, ”The history books of the future will mention that you are Zhao Anning’s parents. Countless parents will envy having such a wonderful daughter.”

Zhao Mingrui couldn’t help but fantasize, ”My sis will be incredibly impressive in the future. No, I must cling to her coattails; I must hold tightly to my sis’s coattails, follow my sis to wealth, and reach the pinnacle of life.”

Song Ruyi: ”Husband, I’m afraid this child has gone silly.”

Then, the pair of parents moved to another room to continue sitting together, foolishly laughing.

Anning sat on the bed, holding a laptop with a video about Liu Mingzhu being transferred by An Xin.

Liu Mingzhu and the Liu Family were taken to the police station.

Mr. Liu hurriedly explained to the police, ”Officer Comrade, this is really... she’s really my daughter. We just went through the procedures a while ago, you can check. This matter started because my daughter was switched at birth; she grew up in the Zhao Family. We only found out recently about the child swap, and quickly switched them back, but she despises our poor household and refuses to return with us.”

Upon hearing Mr. Liu’s explanation, Mrs. Liu quickly pretended to cry a couple of sobs, ”Yes, Officer Comrade, she really is our child. Recently, we wanted to take our daughter home, but she hid from us and we couldn’t find her anywhere. We even filed a report. Now that we’ve found her, we want to take her home, but she just won’t agree. How can we, as parents, leave her alone in the Capital? We don’t have relatives or friends here; if something happens to her, we wouldn’t even have time to cry.”

With their statement, the police checked and indeed found it to be true.

Then a female officer came to speak with Liu Mingzhu.

”Young student, you’re still a minor. We understand your desire to stay in the Capital, considering it’s where you’ve grown up, and naturally, you don’t want to leave. But... you have no relatives here. It’s better for you to go back with your parents for now. If you want to come to the Capital, you can visit during holidays or you can aim to attend a university here and work here later.”

Liu Mingzhu looked down, silent for a long time.

The female officer tried to persuade her again, but Liu Mingzhu looked up and pointed to her face, ”Auntie, have you seen my face? They beat me.”

She rolled up her sleeves, ”Look at the bruises on my body, they also beat me...”

As she spoke, she cried, ”Do you know what the girl who was swapped back to the Zhao Family looked like? My sister was beaten for fifteen years in their family. When she returned, she was mentally disturbed. Because I look like my birth mother, she was scared out of her wits upon seeing me. It was only a little better after seeing a psychologist. My mother... the mother from the Zhao Family said my sister’s health was very poor. She was terrified when she went to fetch my sister. At that time, my sister... ”

Liu Mingzhu pointed at the Liu Family, ”They forced her to attempt suicide by wrist-cutting. They want to take me back, not to cherish me, but to exploit me. I don’t want to end up like my sister. I’m scared, I... If I go back with them, I’ll die for sure. Auntie, please help me. I don’t want to be beaten, I don’t want to miss out on education, or to be sold by them. I want to live; I want to stay in the Capital.”

Liu Mingzhu covered her face and cried, tears falling through her fingers and quickly wetting the floor, ”My dad and mom raised me for fifteen years. I can’t believe they have no feelings for me at all. They love me dearly and treat me very well. I can’t bear to leave them; I want to stay in the Capital. At least being in the same city as them will make me feel a bit better.”

Her crying and obvious sorrow made even the female officer’s eyes turn red.

”I’m telling the truth.”

Seeing Mr. Liu glaring at her with disapproval, Liu Mingzhu quickly moved closer to the female officer, then took out her phone, opened the medical records of Anning she had captured and showed them to the officer, ”Look, this is my sister’s medical record. It’s all clearly written here.”

She also flipped out a photo she had sneakily taken when Anning first returned, ”This is what my sister looked like when she first came back. Look, I’m not lying to you; I genuinely just want to live well. I want to study, get into a good university, and earn money to repay my parents.”

Liu Mingzhu’s actions completely reversed the image of a problematic child that Mr. Liu had portrayed in his mouth.

Now, in the eyes of the police, she’s a well-behaved and kind fairy with great initiative.

Every family has a child.

Several policemen felt especially sorry for Liu Mingzhu.
