Chapter 128: Chapter 128: Blizzard Extreme Cruise Mode

”Preparing to activate ’Blizzard Extreme Cruise Mode.’ Preparation phase: 100 seconds,” reported the bridge crew member responsible for this starship module as he operated the controls.

At this moment, Chu Xuan noticed through the surrounding holographic images that changes were beginning to occur on the hull surface of the T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruiser.

All the starship weapons that had originally been exposed outside the hull were now retracting inward, subsequently covered by a layer of starship armor.

The bow cannon, main cannon, secondary cannons, missile launch silos, close defense cannons—all were retracted and concealed.

If viewed from the outside, one would find that the hull surface of this T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruiser was now almost entirely a smooth, streamlined plane, with no protruding areas or weapon systems exposed.

”All starship weapon modules retraction complete. Initiating starship acceleration,” the bridge crew member reported.

At this very moment, a new data panel appeared before Zhao Chen.

The data panel primarily consisted of flight trajectory, flight speed, and a starship hull model.

The current flight speed was 210 knots stellar speed.

From this moment onward, this speed began to continuously increase.

In just ten seconds, it surged from 210 knots stellar speed to 400 knots stellar speed!

Chu Xuan widened her eyes beside him. She had seen starships capable of extreme acceleration before, but doubling the speed in the blink of an eye was unheard of.

The starship engine was simply terrifying.

Wait... this acceleration showed no signs of stopping.

430... 450... 470... 490...

Chu Xuan couldn’t help but swallow hard. She instinctively asked, ”What exactly is the maximum speed?”

Zhao Chen glanced at Charlotte beside him.

Charlotte shook her head and said, ”The theoretical data suggests more than three times the original speed, but we haven’t reached this stage in our trial voyage mission yet.

So, this is the first time we’re sailing at such a high speed.”

”F-first... first time?” Chu Xuan exclaimed in surprise.

Wait, did she just say it could sail at more than three times the stellar speed?

If she remembered correctly, the previous cruising speed was 210 knots stellar speed. That meant the conventional engine speed of this T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruiser could exceed 600 knots stellar speed!

Good heavens!

To her knowledge, among all the T3 series starships in the entire Stellar Glory Empire, not a single model had a conventional cruising speed that could break through 400 knots stellar speed!

Just then, through the data panel’s display, Zhao Chen and the others could already see a dark, dense mass appearing ahead.

Without a doubt, those were the Interstellar Zerg!

”Activate the forward energy shield! All crew members, prepare for impact!” Zhao Chen issued the command.

Lilith immediately relayed the commander’s orders.

A semi-transparent star shield appeared in front of the bow of the T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruiser.

”Alert! Alert! Star shield under impact. Star shield under impact. Energy level decreased to 99.99%.”

Accompanied by the starship shield system’s alert tone, Zhao Chen and the others felt as though something flashed past in the video feed.

It might have been a T1 Flying Insect or a T2 Spike Snake.

But that no longer mattered, for they had already been reduced to Zerg Remnants.

Chu Xuan’s heart was pounding as if it were racing in sync with the red numbers on the data panel, climbing straight upward.

600 Knot Stellar Speed!

Oh my god, it’s still accelerating!

”I’ll take charge of operating the starship’s navigation,” Deputy Captain Charlotte volunteered to pilot the T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruiser, her eyes fixed on the starship radar.

The starship radar of the T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruiser was already running at high speed, continuously updating information about objects detected by the scan.

At this maximum speed, relying on visual observation of the external video feed was risky—an asteroid that appeared far away one moment could suddenly loom right in front of them the next.

Thus, they had to rely on the starship radar to plan their trajectory in advance.

Although the star shield could protect the starship, it was necessary to minimize star shield energy consumption as much as possible before reaching their destination.

After all, who knew what awaited them there!

”Report! A T2 Hive Mothership detected ahead, accompanied by several Interstellar Zerg Flying Units!” the crew member assisting with navigation reported to Charlotte.

Charlotte glanced at the starship radar and quickly determined the optimal flight path.

The bow pointed directly at the T2 Hive Mothership.

This scene felt all too familiar.

Only this time, the imagery was even more gruesome.

The T2 Hive Mothership, drifting through space in search of its next planetary hunting ground, suddenly shuddered as if struck by a massive impact. Its body split in two, scattering chunks of flesh onto the surrounding T1 Flying Insects and T2 Spike Snakes.

The T1 Flying Insects and T2 Spike Snakes stared blankly at the T2 Hive Mothership, now severed from its neural link and reduced to a lifeless carcass. They hovered motionless, utterly bewildered about what had just happened.

All they sensed was a massive dark shadow whooshing past—and then... their mothership was gone...

”Alert! Alert! Star shield collision detected. Star shield collision detected. Energy level reduced to 96%.”

Colliding with the T2 Hive Mothership caused the T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruiser’s acceleration to slow slightly, but it quickly resumed speeding up.

The red speed indicator now displayed: 700 Knot Stellar Speed.

”How fast can this starship actually go?” Chu Xuan couldn’t resist asking Zhao Chen out of curiosity.

Zhao Chen shrugged. ”Let’s find out.”

The speed he knew was only theoretical; as for how fast it could truly go, there were no detailed specifications.

Let’s find out?

Hearing this somewhat nonchalant response, Chu Xuan really didn’t know how to react.

She only knew that within the Galactic Alliance, the Divine Radiance Empire possessed a T4 Divine Radiance-class Light Interstellar Cruiser, whose maximum speed under conventional engines was rumored to reach 950 Knot Stellar Speed.

And that was the fastest limit achieved only after removing engine restrictions!

So far, no starship had ever broken through the 1000 Knot Stellar Speed barrier!

Chu Xuan stared intently at the flickering red numbers. Could this T3 interstellar warship possibly surpass the speed of a T4 starship?

Her intuition told her it was impossible, yet she couldn’t help hoping for such a thing to happen.

750 Knot Stellar Speed!

One minute later, 800 Knots Stellar Speed!

It was still accelerating!

Chu Xuan held her breath, her hands clenched tightly without her realizing it.

850 Knots Stellar Speed!

A Starship Crew member beside her reported news of a Swarm ahead, but Chu Xuan no longer cared. She just stared at that speed.

900 Knots Stellar Speed!

The originally dense Swarm was directly blasted open, creating a Vacuum Zone!

From a god’s-eye view, it felt as if a clean trail had been dragged across a dirty floor.

930 Knots Stellar Speed!

Chu Xuan stared fixedly at that number, as if nothing around her mattered anymore.

940 Knots Stellar Speed!

Was this T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruiser really about to create a miracle!
