Chapter 105: Chapter 105: T2 Starship vs. T3 Starship

The appearance of this Mechanical Race T3 interstellar warship shattered all of Zhao Chen’s original plans!

”Young man...” Smoking Uncle sent a communication, his face tense with anxiety.

”Uncle, you continue handling things here. I’ll take care of the T3 starship,” Zhao Chen said solemnly.

Smoking Uncle thought for a moment and nodded. ”Alright, I’ll leave it to you.”

He didn’t ask Zhao Chen to support his battlefield.

Compared to the seven remaining Mechanical Race starships on his side, half of which were already damaged and had reduced combat capability, the threat of a single T3 interstellar warship was clearly far greater.

Meanwhile, he could still hold out a little longer on his end.

”Boss, this... T3 interstellar warship... can that Noble Young Master handle it?” the Adjutant cautiously inquired.

Smoking Uncle took a deep drag of his cigarette and exhaled a smoke ring.

”Report, the database has identified the model of that T3 interstellar warship. It is the Mechanical Race’s T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer!” a subordinate reported.

”T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer... Even though it’s just an interstellar destroyer... it’s still a T3 starship!” Smoking Uncle said gravely.

Zhao Chen had also received data on the enemy ship.

”The T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer is an interstellar destroyer within the Mechanical Race’s T3 series starships, one of the most common starship types at the T3 level. It is 700 meters long and equipped with a T3-class medium pulse laser cannon as its main weapon. Its speed is average, and its hull armor strength is inferior to that of the T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigate, but it has a star shield,” Zhao Chen said with a serious expression.

Now, looking at the cards in Zhao Chen’s hand: one T2 Queen Bee-class Heavy Carrier Starship and five T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigates.

Six T2 starships against one T3 starship.

Although there have been records in starship battle history of T2 starships destroying T3 starships, such instances are extremely rare and often occur only in large-scale battles where opportunities are seized.

Under normal circumstances, not to mention six T2 starships, even ten or twenty might not necessarily be a match for a single T3 starship.

”There’s no escaping. We can only give it a try!” A thought formed in Zhao Chen’s mind—a very crazy and risky idea.

But there was no other choice. Zhao Chen ordered Lilith to relay his combat strategy.

The captains of the five T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigates received their orders and began combat deployment.

”To deal with a T3 starship, we must act swiftly! If we get dragged into a prolonged battle, our T2 starships will be picked off one by one,” Zhao Chen said firmly.

”Report, the enemy’s T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer has entered the threat range. It will enter weapon range in two minutes and can launch an attack on our T2 Queen Bee-class Heavy Carrier Starship!” a subordinate reported.

”Take action!” Zhao Chen commanded.

The five T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigates immediately set out.

”The armor strength of the T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigate is formidable, but it won’t withstand many hits from the main cannon of a T3-level starship. The gap in technological levels is significant.”

The advantage of the T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigate lies in close-quarters combat, but the main cannons of the opposing T3 Starship might not give them the chance to get close!” Shen Bing, positioned at the rear, was closely monitoring the battlefield.

She watched as the five T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigates advanced, her expression grave.

Zhao Chen’s battle directly determined their survival!

”Can we really not win?” Liu Lili asked anxiously.

Shen Bing closed her eyes, simulating combat strategies in her mind.

No...

This won’t work either...

This still won’t work...

What should we do? How can we possibly win?

Is it truly impossible for T2 Starships to fight against T3 Starships?

Suddenly, a wild idea flashed in Shen Bing’s mind. She immediately typed out her thoughts and sent them to Zhao Chen.

He replied quickly.

Two words.

Thank you.

Shen Bing was taken aback. Why did his response sound so dismissive?

”Look! Those five T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigates have formed a strange linear combat formation!” Liu Lili suddenly exclaimed.

Shen Bing turned her attention to the screen. The five T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigates had arranged themselves in a ”Five-Star Chain” combat formation, advancing toward the T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer.

At that moment, the medium pulse laser cannon of the T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer fired, unleashing a pulse laser beam!

Laser weapons are primarily divided into two types: beam lasers and pulse lasers. Of course, aside from these two main categories, there are also some minor variations.

Pulse lasers charge briefly before firing a laser beam at the enemy. They have short firing range and moderate damage but are fast-firing with short cooldown times.

Beam lasers require longer charging times before firing a sustained beam laser attack on enemy ships. They have longer firing range and higher damage but slower firing rates and longer cooldown times compared to pulse lasers.

The former are more common and are mainly equipped on interstellar frigates, interstellar destroyers, and stellar cruisers.

The latter, with their greater power, are primarily equipped on stellar battlecruisers and interstellar battleships, targeting stronger ships in enemy fleets, such as flagships and core starships!

They are exceptionally destructive against energy defenses like star shields.

Although the T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer was only equipped with pulse laser-type main cannons, it was still a T3-level ship!

At that moment, a pulse laser struck the first T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigate in the formation!

”Report! Comprehensive damage to front hull armor strength has reached 50%!”

”Report! Comprehensive damage to port-side frontal armor strength has reached 65%!”

”Report! Three close defense cannons have been destroyed!”

The Captain of No. 1 ship, relieved that they had survived the attack, took a deep breath and issued the command: ”Clear the position!”

”Yes, Captain!”

The T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigate No. 1 moved aside, retreating to the rear of the five-ship battle line.

The second T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigate then took the lead at the front.

”He actually thought of it too!” Shen Bing exclaimed in surprise.

”Thought of what?” Liu Lili asked curiously beside her.

Shen Bing said seriously, ”Just now I mentioned that although the armor strength of the T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigate is high, it may not withstand several rounds of attacks from the T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer.

However... if five T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigates can form a line, consistently keeping only one T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigate at the forefront to withstand the attacks of the T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer,

then perhaps, with the coordinated rotation of the five T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigates, they could close in on the T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer!

Although the T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer possesses a star shield, it is only a unidirectional area star shield and does not provide full-range protection for the T3 Black Iron-class medium interstellar destroyer.

As long as the five T2 Black Rhinoceros-class interstellar heavy assault frigates attack from various directions, even with a star shield, it would be impossible to defend against all of them.

Earlier, I wanted to share my idea with Zhao Chen, but it seems he thought of this somewhat crazy tactic before I did, and he even implemented it directly!”

Thinking of this, Shen Bing was even more amazed by this former bookworm classmate.

Should it be said that he has changed too much, or that he hid too deeply during his three years at the Academy?
