Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

Chapter 444: Chapter 444 - Leaving People Behind is Getting Harder and Harder to Do

I only stayed for one more day in Kolyer. I chose to spend this day making sure that Damian, Darren and Darryl have a nice place they could call home. We used one of the rooms on the ground floor of the inn and I used the same time and space spells as what I did to my wagon to give them a spacious and complete home.

I also put some time in personally supervising the employees we have hired for different areas and made sure that certain instructions and manuals are available for reference whenever they need it. I have also helped with creating the curriculum for the learning classes that will be starting soon. It will be open for everyone and would only require a small fee to enroll. Lastly, I started posting things that are available for sale and items that other people wanted to buy in the trading post to launch the service.

I also spent time cooking a lot of food intending to keep my family’s kitchen well-stocked. Since the magical machines I placed in the kitchen can keep everything I have cooked fresh for an indefinite period of time, it doesn’t matter how much I cook in advance. The three boys can just pick what they wanted to eat anytime they feel hungry.

I also spent some quality time with my two brothers-in-law, cooking, sharing stories and teaching them some essentials for their roles in the business and I also reminded them to attend all the learning classes that will be available soon. In the evening, I spent some quality time with my husband since we won’t be seeing each other for quite some time once I leave for further north.

The next morning, as I opened my eyes, I can’t help but feel sad. It is the day of my departure from Kolyer and the day that I need to say goodbye to simple but incredibly happy life with the new members of my family. As I tried to leave the bed, Damian moved and held on to me tighter as if his subconscious mind knew that I was going to leave him soon. I tried to pry his hands open but it was tightly closed as if it was super glued. I had no choice but to patiently wait for him to awaken naturally and I simply spent my time watching him sleep.

It took about at least an hour more before Damian woke up naturally from his sleep. I did tire him out so I don’t have the right to complain. I was quite surprised when his eyes suddenly flung open like he was frightened by something then he started looking around the room as if he was lost. When his eyes met mine, they started to water then he hugged me even tighter. Did he perhaps have a nightmare earlier?

I tapped his back while whispering, ”Good morning, my dear husband. What seems to be the matter?” which made his whole body flinch. My fingers traced circles on his bare back and I even teasingly grabbed one of his butt cheeks. I got a seductive grunt and another flinch from him because of it. I chuckled at how his body is so responsive to me.

I disentangled myself from my clingy man and sat up from the bed. I walked across the room towards the bathroom with no clothes on, much to the surprised look on his face. It is funny how he is still surprised when I do this when we have been sleeping every night naked in bed for the past week or so.

After I got inside, I immediately turn on the shower to wash up and it did not even reach minute when a certain someone hugged me from behind to join me in the shower. I turned around and stole a kiss from his lips then we continued washing each other’s bodies. I tried to behave as much as I can or else we will end up taking too long in the bath again.

After washing up, we put on our home clothes and went straight to the kitchen for breakfast. The two little guys are also digging into the pantry as they noticed the ton of cooked food that was placed there. I called for them from behind and told them that we will cook something fresh today and the food they saw was for when they are feeling lazy to cokok. They nodded their heads happily and the four of us started dividing the tasks to prepare our food. We decided to have another balanced breakfast though I know that there was nothing in their minds but meat. We had fun cooking and having a meal together.

Once we are done with the meal, I pulled them towards the living room for a quick meeting. Damian sat beside me and held my hand tight. He was looking down and hiding his face from his brothers.

After being comfortably seated, I announced that I will be leaving Kolyer in a few hours to continue my journey to the northern war camps. The eyes of the two young ones widened and then started to turn red. Their faces scrunched up as tears started to fall from their eyes. I sighed due to helplessness and gave the little guys a tight hug each.

The eldest brother who was quiet a while ago, hugged his brothers too. We stayed like that for a while until all the sobbing stopped. I started explaining to them that I will come back once I am done with my tasks in the north and even when I am back in Hoffen, I wi still visit as much as I can.

The two boys demanded for a pinky promise which I easily obliged to. I heard a chuckle from Damian after we finished are promise to each other. As for my guy, he looked at me with a hint of confidence in his eyes, showing that he knows that what we have is for keeps.

I helped the three boys move all their things to their room at the inn. Afterwards, at exactly an hour before noon, I was again on my way to the north.
