Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

Chapter 403: Chapter 403 - Sparks and Tension

As Quintin joined the group, he smiled cordially at everyone. Damn, he looks good now that he isn’t scruffy with his clothes and hair. I peeked only for a few seconds then I looked away again. I found myself swallowing a bit though.

I have recently discovered that the more I experienced resonances, the more my body becomes weaker in terms of avoiding it. Doing the deed with someone you are highly resonant with is also bliss that I can never explain in words. As I said before, it makes the person have that sweet, enticing and addicting scent too. You add to the fact that my body is already meant to make children, the pull is even stronger to take in the men in question.

I already planned to just take seeds, their owners are not supposed to be included. I only need the seeds and place them in the room of beginnings for incubation then my father will take care of everything. I haven’t made it official with the one in Bragen yet and now we have a town chief’s son here in Ersha. Ugh.

I tried to distract myself by just doing my job. I continued guiding the foragers on the useful plants around the lake. As for the hunters and fishermen, they all started casting their fishing rods and nets to try their luck. I secretly helped them with a simple spell to attract fish.

I casted a protection spell on everybody before I sneaked away towards the cave. Besides the area of the treasure room and the main path, I haven’t really checked on anyhing else inside the cave so might as well do it while I still have the time.

Honestly, I also just want to avoid that constant staring of someone back in the group. If he is in his right mind, he won’t follow me since he has to protect the group.

As I entered the cave, I did not follow the original path and simply tried to take the other paths. It led me to some rooms used for cooking, storing food and a lot of them simply used for debauchery judging from how they looked inside. I took everything that can still be used.

I am not a squeamish person so I still went inside the rooms for debauchery. I destroyed all the things that are too dirty to salvage while all the usable furniture and home items, I plan to sell to whoever is interested.

I stayed inside the cave roughly for about half an hour. When I came out and went back to the lake, everybody was seated happily and grilling some meat and fish. They just turned this whole outing to a picnic, I guess.

Well, let them enjoy themselves. It is indeed liberating that there are no longer any bandits in their area. They have been living in fear for who knows how long before I got here.

After about another half an hour, the townspeople started packing up and carrying their loot for the day. I walked at the back of the group just observing the surroundings for safety reasons. As for Quintin, instead of doing the same, he is observing only me but I always made sure that my eyes do not meet his.

As we were walking back, I noticed him trying to slow down his speed hoping that after some time, we will end up walking side by side. Well, not happening. When our group is only less than 100 meters away from the gate, I suddenly sped up my walk towards the front of the group where the chief was to discuss some supposedly improtant things.

When he saw me appear right in front to talk to his father, his face looked sad in my peripheral vision but he did not dare to disturb our conversation. I ignored his presence up until we entered the gates of Ersha again. I went straight to my wagon to sneakily send the items in my storage to people that can help me sell them.

Afterwards, I went to the trading post to send its very first letter addressed to the magic tower in Hoffen. I asked help from Grandpa Mage to create the farming machines that I want to give to Ersha. I told him that the machine plans attached to my letter can be shown to the farmer’s guild for patenting and to let them help out in its creation. I also sent my reports and plans for Bragen and Ersha through a letter directly to Aurum which will then be delivered to our parents in the palace.

As I was exiting the trading post area, a strong sweet scent entered my nostrils. It was so strong that it suffocated me a bit and made me cough. I went straight to the chief’s house to ask where his son was but surprisingly, the chief said that he did not see him and Quintin did not come with us when we entered the gates earlier.

This situation had me wondering what was he even thinking staying in the forest alone. The only reason why no stronger animals were seen was because of me which means that when he stays there all alone, he is up for grabs to any carnivorous animal out there. And if he is in the state that I think he is in, he is not in a position to be able to defend himself from any attacks.

I clicked my tongue in annoyance at the current situation that we are in. I think the effects on him are already as severe as when Ioannis barged in my room the first time. I was cursing in my head constantly while walking briskly out the gate to look for the stupid guy.

I closed my eyes and used my mana to sense him instead. After a few seconds, I sensed him in one of the secluded areas by the lake. He was leaning by a huge rock panting heavily. He has removed most of his clothes and he is all wet from soaking himself in the cool water. I definitely know why he had done this since resonance effects make one burn up right as if one’s body is about to explode.
