Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

Chapter 438: Chapter 438 - A Happy Morning

The next morning, I woke up early still snuggling comfortably next to Damian. As for my human pillow, he is still dead asleep as an after effect of the potion and honestly, just the fatigue and all. I am not sure if the two young ones have woken up though.

I slowly left the bed and took a quick shower then changed to a normal set of home clothes. I went out of my bedroom and started walking towards the kitchen. Before I could even reach the kitchen, I heard one of the bedroom doors open followed by running footsteps. I was hit by two running young boys and then was immediately hugged on both sides of my waist.

I chuckled at how jolly they were so early in the morning. I asked them with an amused voice while caressing their hair, ”Why are you both up so early? You can sleep more, you know? Even your brother is sleeping.”

Darren then said, ”I already took my pill upon waking up. Now I want to help out in cooking breakfast!”

Daryl on the other hand smiled at me and said, ”Thank you for healing me, big sister. Darren told me all about it. As for big brother, he’s tired because of something else. We aren’t tired that way.”

I rolled my eyes jokingly and then led them to the kitchen. We had a little meeting about what they want for breakfast and what they think their brother would want to eat. The suggestions revolved with lots of meat, anything with eggs and something warm like soup.

I tried my best to keep our meal balanced so we ended up with sausages, a spinach and cheese omelet, mushroom soup and some fruits like apples and bananas for dessert. We all agreed to have bread instead of noodles or rice. We also have a choice between milk or hot chocolate to drink.

I delegated the preparation work but we all decided that I would cook most of the dishes while they watch closely and learn. As we were preparing everything, I noticed how adept they were in moving around the kitchen and even chopping ingredients. They must have been given a lot of household work starting from a very young age.

We had fun doing the preparation and then the cooking and baking. Before long, the whole house is filled with the scent of freshly baked bread, creamy smell of cheese, the scent of sausages, the earthy scent of the mushrooms and the enticing scent of chocolate.

The tranquil and happy atmosphere was broken by a loud thud from the bedroom. The three of us simply looked back in confusion. We then saw Damian running out of the room, all disheveled and filled with worry. He was stunned when he saw the three of us cooking in the kitchen. He stared at each of his brothers then me, then tears started to flow from his eyes. He then sat on the floor limply right where he was standing.

The first thing I did was wave my hand to pause all the cooking since our effort will be wasted if everything burned. I then ran to where Damian was and asked if he was okay. He suddenly pulled on my clothes and hugged me tight. He then kept murmuring, ”Thank you...” over and over again.

I looked at Darren and Daryl in confusion but they just mouthed to me that they don’t have any idea what was happening. I hugged the sobbing guy back and then carried him inside the room. Once inside, I asked him further what was the matter.

He explained between sobs and sniffs that he thought I abandoned him when he woke up alone. He then felt lost because it was too quiet and he does not know how long he was asleep. He then remembered that he had to come back for his younger brothers at the open area. He just felt overwhelmed with everything so he panicked, fell off of the bed, did his best to stand up and then ran out of the bedroom.

I opened his clothes and his whole body stiffened in surprise. I checked him for any bruises or wounds because that thud earlier was damn loud. As expected he got bruised knees and a few scratches on his palms. I used my mana to heal them quickly. He just stared at me wide-eyed, lost for words.

I stared back at him and stole a kiss from his lips. His face immediately turned red. I tidied his clothes again then told him that I immediately picked his brothers after he passed out and it has only been an hour when I went back to the open area with him carried in my arms.

As he listened to me recounting things one by one, he suddenly covered his face. He waited for me to finish then he murmured, ”Everybody saw me unconscious and obviously looking disheveled?”

I looked at him and teased, ”Unconscious, yes. Disheveled, no. You are dressed just like how you are right now. I brought you there just like this.”

His eyes widened and he ran to the bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror. He then looked at me with an accusing glare. I grinned at him. He sighed as he couldn’t even get angry at me and he gave me a helpless smile instead.

Well, he has the right to be angry though. His neck and the rest of his body was full of hickeys. His lower lip was swollen though his skin was practically glowing from nourishment. His clothes are meant for the bedroom though but I was in a hurry to claim the youngsters so I did not think too much about it.

After he calmed down, we came out of the room again and went to the dining area. I continued cooking while the three brothers checked on each other. The breakfast was filled with laughter and a bit of tears after Damian realized that Darren is on his way to recovery while Daryl was fully healed.

As I watched over the three brothers chatting and eating happily until they were full, I realized why I was working so hard all this time. People really meet for a reason. Sometimes, they meant to teach you something while others are meant to accompany you throughout your existence.
