Journey to Planar World

Falna reflects various abilities and possibilities of adventurers in the form of numerical values, much like in a game.

After engraving the Sacred Text on Charlie’s back, Hera’s lips formed a beautiful smile.

”My guess wasn’t wrong; Otherworlders are truly special.”

She felt a bit of nostalgia upon seeing the emblem of her Familia, which she hadn’t seen in a long time.

The Hera Familia emblem depicted a crowned woman adorned with flowers.

Returning to her senses, Hera was astonished by Charlie’s status.

On the other hand, Charlie could feel his body becoming stronger and something awakening within him.

”It’s done. Charlie, you’re even more impressive than I expected.”

*BZZZT*

As she said that, Hera took a parchment, placed it on his back as the paper glowed when she did so. Then, she handed the parchment to him.

”I’m sure the other Gods and Goddesses will fight over you once they see your status.”

”Really?”

Having put on his clothes, Charlie read the parchment with a skeptical attitude.

”You’re not satisfied?”

Hera was confused when she didn’t see any signs of excitement on Charlie’s face.

”Happy? Of course, I’m happy. It’s just... Isn’t this a bit too much?”

Charlie was only slightly surprised to have awakened Spirit Art and Prodigy Swordsman. He considered it normal, given that this was the body of Karasuki Rio. After receiving Falna, the latent potential within this body was now awakened.

This potential wasn’t his; it belonged to Rio. Charlie didn’t feel proud of things that weren’t truly his.

”Looking at this, you meet the criteria to become a hero. You know, the gods have been waiting for the emergence of the Last Hero.”

”Every hero has a spirit that accompanies them through the joys and sorrows of life. For example, the Strongest Hero, Albert Waldstein, had the Great Wind Spirit as his companion. They even fell in love and had children. Moreover, you have the skill [The Chosen Savior], which implies your worthiness as a hero.”

Hera was confident that once the other gods learned of Charlie’s status, they would feel a wave of excitement. The hero they’ve been waiting for has finally appeared.

Even during the peak era of Hera Familia, with dozens of First-Class Adventurers, Hera had never seen Skills and Magic as outrageous as these when an adventurer first received Falna.

It must be said, heroes are existences that defy logic and astonish the Gods.

”Sorry, Goddess Hera, I must disappoint your expectations. I’m not interested in being a hero at all.”

”Oh, why? You know, countless people yearn for the position of a hero, but they can’t achieve it. In this world, heroes are highly respected and admired by almost every race. Particularly for women, they go crazy for heroes and dream of becoming the hero’s lover.”

Hera listed many benefits of being a hero. But her plan to entice Charlie failed; he wasn’t impressed at all.

”A hero is someone who bears a heavy burden. Those who perform great deeds often meet tragic fates, eventually losing everything. Goddess Hera, allow me to ask, can you name a single hero who lived to old age and died a natural death?”

”...”

Reflecting on Charlie’s rhetoric, Hera found it made sense.

From the era of Hero of the Beginning to the era of the Strongest Hero, none of the heroes met a good end.

Heroes always sacrificed themselves for the safety of others and to save the world.

”You have an interesting ideology, Charlie. Honestly, but do you really not want to try being a savior to everyone?”

”I’m not interested.”

”Can you give me a reason?”

”Of course, being a hero means I would have to save many people as if their lives were my responsibility. When I can’t save one of them or arrive late, they will start blaming me, saying I’m unreliable. In this world, strength is everything. If you are weak, you must be prepared to die. But if you’re strong, you can survive. So, to survive, power is necessary in this world.”

Not every mission he undertook went smoothly. In fact, Charlie had also experienced failure. Every time he failed, the victim’s family would blame and scold him for the death of their loved one.

In this life, he no longer wanted to play the role of a volunteer worker who helps others selflessly.

”I understand. Let’s stop discussing this topic. Next, I’ll explain the basic information for you, so pay close attention.”

Unlike other Gods who anticipated the emergence of a hero, Hera wasn’t too interested. After all, the person before her was an Otherworlder, rarer than a hero.

Even though Charlie met the criteria for being a hero, since he himself didn’t want it, Hera had no intention of forcing him against his will.

”Yes, Goddess Hera.” Charlie responded after sitting back down in the chair.

”It should be noted that Magic comes in two types: Inherent Magic, which can be gained based on an individual’s abilities and race, and Magic that is obtained through training or via a Grimoire. A person naturally has between one and three slots for Magic, and usually can only learn one Magic per slot, although most people tend to never have Magic appear in their Magic slots. You are very fortunate to have Inherent Magic.”

Considering the description of Spirit Art, Hera believed that Mages would be extremely envious once they learned that Charlie didn’t need a magic circle or chanting to use Magic.

”While someone can use Magic even if they do not have Falna, Magic used while having Falna tends to be stronger than normal Magic without Falna. You can try it later.”

”Next is Level.”

”Basic Abilities are divided between Strength, Endurance, Dexterity, Agility, and Magic Power, each displayed with a rank and number from 0-999.

”0-99 is I, 100-199 is H, 200-299 is G, 300-399 is F, 400-449 is E, 500-599 is D, 600-699 is C, 700-799 is B, 800-899 is A, and 900-999 is S. But not many people know there are ranks above S, which are 1000-1099 is SS, and 1100+ is SSS.”

Hera Familia once stood at the top of the hierarchy, and Hera knew more secret information than the Gods with weaker Familia. Furthermore, some of the First-Class Adventurers in her Familia had SS and SSS ranked basic abilities.

”Basic abilities are reset to 0 at each level-up, although abilities gained before each rank-up will still become an invisible foundation. To level up, an adventurer must have at least a rank of D in one basic ability and gather enough high-ranked Excelia until their container is filled, allowing them to level up.”

”Next is Skills—”

”Sorry to interrupt, Goddess Hera, I have something I want to ask.”

Like a model student, Charlie raised his hand and requested permission to ask.

”What would you like to ask?”

Asking meant he was paying serious attention; Hera was pleased to have a child who didn’t feel arrogant just because he awakened great Skills and Magic.
