Not Being a Trainer This Time

The special training of Pokemon is something Naoki is already very familiar with.

Exercising the body, sharpening the mind, gaining actual combat experience through Pokemon battles, and complementing it with Life Sheep Milk and assorted meals, even a Pokemon with poor talent can be improved.

It’s just a pity that no recipe has been developed yet to strengthen Sylveon... Naoki felt a bit regretful.

An afternoon of special training left Sylveon exhausted, collapsing onto the grass, panting with its pink little tongue out.

Naoki handed it a bottle of Life Sheep Milk and asked, ”Can you still hold on?”

Sylveon drank the Life Sheep Milk, feeling its stamina and energy quickly recovering, and once again stood up with determination: ”Vee!”

Naoki smiled: ”Very good, let’s call it a day!”

At that moment, a boy wearing the Paldea Academy uniform arrived at the ranch.

Naoki turned around when he heard the sound and saw the person standing at the entrance to the ranch, looking up at the sign above, and muttering the words written there.

”Tree’s House, huh? Mr. Naoki, you changed the ranch’s name?” the boy asked.

”That’s right, because the previous name was made up randomly, so now it’s changed to this one,” Naoki nodded.

”Not just here, even the online store’s name changed to this!” The boy took out his Rotom Phone, opened the Naoki Ranch’s online store, and said in surprise.

Naoki smiled slightly.

The boy put away the phone, then took a Poke Ball from his waist: ”Mr. Naoki, I’m here to challenge you again!”

”Very welcome,” Naoki remembered this boy, who had come to his ranch before to challenge Pawmot’s Thunder Trial, but each time ended in failure.

However, the kid had great perseverance, summarizing each experience after failing, and would come back to challenge again within ten days to half a month.

”Let me see if you’ve improved over these days!” Naoki said.

”Go, Kilowattrel, show Mr. Naoki our might!” The boy threw out his Poke Ball with enthusiasm.

Five minutes later, Kilowattrel was knocked down by Pawmot with a single hit, eyes rolling back, and fainted on the spot.

Little Indeedee blew the whistle in her hand.

”Whew!”

Kilowattrel lost the ability to battle, this match won by Pawmot!

”Phew—looks like you guys have failed again!” Naoki stretched a bit and looked at the boy with a cheerful smile.

The boy retrieved Kilowattrel into the Poke Ball, carefully recalling the just-concluded battle, summarizing his shortcomings, and then said, ”We will definitely come again!”

As the boy turned to leave, Naoki suddenly remembered something and hurriedly called out to him.

”Wait a moment!”

”Hmm? What’s the matter, Mr. Naoki?” The boy turned back, asking with a puzzled face.

”Recently, there’s a new trial at the ranch suitable for beginner trainers, this trial doesn’t require a Gym Badge, even new trainers can participate. Could you help me spread the word to those trainers who aren’t qualified to challenge the Thunder Trial?” Naoki asked with a smile.

Sylveon wants to get stronger, but lacks combat experience, isn’t this a great opportunity?

”A new trial?” Hearing this, the boy was immediately interested.

”That’s right, I call it the Hero’s Trial,” Naoki said.

Since Sylveon wants to become a hero that defeats the Evil Dragon, then naming this trial ’Hero’ seems fitting.

Moreover, most heroes are very weak in the beginning, only becoming stronger after countless challenges, gaining the strength to defeat the ”Demon King.”

The Hero’s Trial suits Sylveon perfectly.

The boy wanted to try it immediately but Naoki looked at the time and shook his head:

”Let’s not do it today, it’s too late, I have to pick up my wife from work, maybe next time!”

Mr. Naoki’s wife... wouldn’t that be the Levincia Gym Leader, Lono?

But Porto Marinada Town and Levincia City are so far apart!

Under the boy’s astonished gaze, Naoki said goodbye to him, then rode on Koraidon’s back and disappeared into the sky in the blink of an eye.

Such, such speed!

At 4:30 PM, Naoki picked up Lono from the Levincia Gym on time.

This was also the first time Naoki knew that the Paldea Region Gym Leaders finished work so early.

Lono happily ran over carrying two bags.

When she got in front, Naoki reached out and took the two bags, curiously asking, ”What are these?”

”Mom sent them to the gym today, told me to bring them back for you to try, they’re famous snacks from Levincia City.” Lono giggled: ”Mom really likes you!”

”Is there anyone who wouldn’t like a son-in-law like me?” Naoki said with a smile.

”Hm.” Lono lightly punched him on the shoulder: ”Alright, let’s talk when we get home! Koraidon, did you eat well today?”

”Aga-ssii~” Koraidon answered happily.

The two of them rode on Koraidon’s back, heading back to the ranch.

Naoki asked, ”How are your parents? I saw them crying so sadly at the wedding before.”

”They probably still can’t bear to let me go,” Lono said.

Naoki silently noted that on his mind: ”Then let’s find some time to visit them with some gifts.”

Lono grinned widely, responding happily: ”Alright!”

The two returned to the ranch, Naoki went to prepare dinner, while Lono helped feed the Pokemon in the ranch.
