Not Being a Trainer This Time

The Dratini enjoying their feast noticed Naoki picking up the skins they had just shed by the reef.

A few little Dratini looked over with their wet, big eyes.

”Huh?”

What was Naoki doing?

Soon, several full little Dratini flew to Naoki’s side, hiding behind the reef to observe his actions.

Naoki said, ”I see you guys!”

Only then did the Dratini fly out, looking at the shed skins in Naoki’s hand, they couldn’t help but let out puzzled growls.

”Huh?”

”Hmm?” Naoki understood the meaning of the little Dratini and replied, ”That’s because they’re very valuable! To humans, these unwanted skins of yours are quite tough and can be crafted into very high-end artisanal products, selling for lots of money!”

Money...

The Dratini originally had no concept of human money, but ever since the Dragonite on the island started going out to work, they inevitably began to encounter this topic.

Although not much, the Dratini knew that money was a good thing, it could be exchanged for many, many delicious snacks!

In an instant, a picture appeared in the Dratini’s minds.

They exchanged the shed skins for money and then exchanged that money with humans for lots and lots of snacks.

Various snacks filled the entire Dragonite Island, cakes and treats were everywhere, turning the whole Dragonite Island into a dream dessert island that could be eaten.

”Oooh!” How happy!

Yet quickly, one of the Dratini thought of something sad for dragons.

Because all the skins they’ve shed before had been casually thrown away...

Their dream dessert island plan was about to be dashed waah waaax X﹏X

Naoki hearing the meaning from the Dratini: ”...”

”Alright, alright, don’t be sad, next time when shedding skin just collect them, and besides, isn’t it just a dessert island? That’s easy, I’ll help you craft one!” He said.

Indeed, upon hearing this, the Dratini’s eyes immediately flashed with excitement.

At this moment, Naoki appeared like a god in their eyes!

”Oooh!” Great!

”So I’ll take these skins back first?” Naoki asked.

The Dratini casually nodded, anyway, they had no use for them, Naoki was so good to them, even if all the skins were given to Naoki they’d be happy.

”Then I won’t bother everyone, see you tomorrow!” Naoki waved to say goodbye to the Dratini, preparing to go back and research the effects of Dragon’s Armor.

The Dratini also cheerfully bid him farewell.

Naoki then rode Koraidon back to the ranch.

However, he did not rush to immediately make these dragon skins into dishes, because in their current state, the leather seemed unsuited for making food.

Therefore, Naoki planned to first dry them, then grind them into powder before crafting.

Now the time had unconsciously moved to noon, after preparing lunch for everyone at the ranch, he started the processing.

First, using the oven, he dried these Dragon Shedding until completely dehydrated, and then placed them in a stone mortar to repeatedly pound until all turned to powder.

At times like this, the Dratini Dragon Shedding presented as an almost-transparent, pristine white.

Naoki fixed his gaze, and the detailed information of this snow-white powder emerged in his mind.

[Dratini’s Dragon Shedding Powder: Special item, material obtained after processing, no longer usable for crafting, but can be used for other purposes, the dishes made with it will have the effect of ”Dragon’s Armor.”]

It’s done!

Next is crafting it into a ”dish.”

He took glutinous rice flour from the cabinet, used for making dumplings, and then mixed it uniformly with this Dragon Shedding powder to make thin dough skins.

Then, he added fillings like strawberry jam, sesame paste, Berry jam, etc., finally shaping them into dumplings and steaming them in the pot.

Naoki set an alarm and then started browsing videos on his Rotom Phone.

Now it’s October, and the Lily of the Valley Conference of the Sinnoh Region begins during this time.

Since entering the internet era, all major leagues hold global live broadcasts when competitions are organized.

One reason is to increase the popularity of league competitions, another is to showcase the trainers’ skills to people in other regions, attracting more challengers.

Sinnoh League is no exception.

However, it’s still night in the Sinnoh Region, with a time difference of almost twelve hours between the places, Naoki couldn’t watch live, only replays.

Just like in the anime, Ash also participated in this tournament, and the beastly man Tobias who defeated Ash with Darkrai was among them.

Tobias swept all the way using only a Darkrai and entered the semifinals.

The previous match was Ash vs. Paul, where Ash defeated Paul and qualified for promotion.

This means anime plot will be reenacted tomorrow.

Ash narrowly loses to Tobias, resulting in elimination.

”Tsk, what a pity, such a sky-descending strong enemy!” Naoki couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for Ash.

This might be the path to becoming a Pokemon Master?

Maybe because of experiencing such rigorous trials, Ash could ultimately defeat Leon in the finals of Eight Great Masters, claim the championship, become a veritable Pokemon Master, and realize his initial dream.
