Not Being a Trainer This Time

”What on earth is going on?”

Looking at the data displayed on the screen, Professor Kuroki couldn’t help but mutter.

Could it be a machine malfunction?

Thinking of this, Professor Kuroki quickly began checking the machine’s status, his hands swiftly typing on the keyboard. Five minutes later, the computer indicated that everything was functioning normally.

This means... this Cyclizar has been bred to an unimaginably perfect level, even surpassing the limits of what a Cyclizar as a Pokemon can achieve!

Professor Kuroki turned his head and stared blankly at the Cyclizar with a clueless expression: ”This is truly unbelievable...”

Even globally, there are very few people who can train a Pokemon to such an extent.

”You are a very outstanding trainer!” Professor Kuroki exclaimed, looking at the young man in front of him.

Naoki, however, was focused on the Cyclizar’s data on the computer screen.

There, the increase in power and speed was especially noticeable.

”Did the birthday cake improve Cyclizar’s species strength in power and speed?”

As for defense and special defense, Naoki suspected it might be influenced by the ”Dragon’s Armor.”

And the exaggerated stamina was likely due to the long-term consumption of Life Sheep Milk.

Life Sheep Milk, comparable to Holy Ash, is infused with the aura of the World Tree. Regular consumption greatly enhances a Pokemon’s physical fitness, making them healthier and more robust.

In terms of game terminology, Cyclizar’s HP maximum has significantly increased.

Hearing Professor Kuroki’s words, Naoki smiled slightly but didn’t say much.

”And Cyclizar’s own effort,” he said.

After all, Cyclizar used to battle Koraidon every day to become stronger, and Koraidon consistently guided it diligently.

For Cyclizar, Koraidon was both a mentor and a friend.

Although Koraidon occasionally gets jealous over trivial matters in life, it doesn’t pose much of a problem.

Overall, Koraidon is still a ”considerate” Pokemon and won’t alienate or bully Cyclizar over such things.

Koraidon is so intelligent that sometimes Naoki almost falls into a misconception—it’s not an ancient Paradox Pokemon, but rather a modern Pokemon with rich life experiences.

However, Koraidon is a Legendary Pokemon, even if it’s an ancient Pokemon, its intelligence and status are top-tier within the ecosystem.

”Whew—looks like I need to update Cyclizar’s data.”

With that, Professor Kuroki planned to adjust Cyclizar’s data, but he quickly realized something.

Not all Cyclizar would exhibit such characteristics; maybe this Cyclizar is special, an individual case, too scarce to serve as experimental data, and can only be regarded as a rare unique individual.

Thinking of this, Professor Kuroki stopped his actions.

After confirming Cyclizar’s physical condition, there was no need for Naoki to stay in the research institute any longer.

He prepared to say goodbye to Professor Kuroki, leave Porto Marinada Town, and return to the ranch.

But just as he was about to take Cyclizar and Koraidon away, the research institute’s door suddenly swung open.

Soon after, a boy around ten years old ran in excitedly.

Although the boy was sweating profusely from running, it didn’t affect his mood or the excitement in his voice at all.

”Professor! I’m Komatsu, I’ve finally turned ten years old today, so I’ve come here to receive my first Pokemon and start my journey with it!”

”Ah, Komatsu?” Professor Kuroki stood up, took out three Poke Balls from another room: ”Your Pokemon, I’ve already prepared it for you, come choose one from the three!”

Seeing this scene, Naoki stopped with interest.

Professor Kuroki threw out three Poke Balls.

As streaks of white light flashed, a Fuecoco, a Sprigatito, and a Quaxly appeared in the research institute.

The boy immediately set his eyes on Fuecoco; he had already made up his mind before coming.

”I choose Fuecoco!”

”Fuecoco, huh? Then from now on, this little guy is entrusted to you to take care of!” Professor Kuroki handed Fuecoco to the boy with a smile and gifted him five Poke Balls.

After listening to Professor Kuroki’s instructions, the boy excitedly took Fuecoco and went out for an adventure.

”Ah, so full of energy!” Professor Kuroki exclaimed with a smile.

Naoki was a bit surprised and asked, ”Do the kids in the town come here to receive their Pokemon?”

Professor Kuroki nodded.

”When I first arrived here, the Paldea League approached me and asked if I could help distribute initial Pokemon to the town’s kids,” he said.

Naoki nodded; indeed, such things are typical of what Geeta would do.

”But yeah, this kind of thing is quite normal, whether it’s in the Paldea Region or over in the Kanto Region,” Professor Kuroki said with a smile.

”Kids who turn ten in various places are registered in the population system. When they turn ten, the leagues will prepare initial Pokemon for them and have them distributed by research institutes located in the towns.”

”I had barely settled into the Paldea Region when I was given such a significant duty, it’s really overwhelming...” Professor Kuroki remarked, touching his head with a hint of bewilderment.

Naoki: ”...”

Poor professor, he had just moved to the Paldea Region and was already being eyed by Geeta.
