Not Being a Trainer This Time

Professor Oak’s summer camp?

Upon hearing this, Naoki immediately thought of the summer camp that Ash and Serena attended in the anime.

But on second thought, Ash has already gone on his travels to the Sinnoh Region, and that storyline is already past.

According to Professor Oak, he plans to hold a new summer camp at his ranch?

Seeing Naoki dazing off, Professor Oak continued: ”Of course, we will bring our own tents and food, and we will also cover the venue costs.”

Naoki then snapped back to reality, and with a helpless smile said:

”There’s no need for that, it’s just a summer camp, you’re welcome anytime. I was just thinking that the Kanto Region and Paldea Region are so far apart, coming here is quite time-consuming.”

Professor Oak immediately beamed with a smile: ”Then we’ll intrude. I’ll bring the kids and we’ll fly over, it shouldn’t take long.”

Actually, he wanted to take this opportunity to visit Naoki Ranch to observe those rare and uncommon Pokemon.

Not long ago, Professor Oak saw on his social circle a photo posted by Naoki.

In the photo are four mysterious Pokemon that he’s never seen or heard of, and they aren’t even recorded in the Pokedex.

As a Pokemon researcher, nothing is more attractive than unknown Pokemon.

”So, when do you plan to come?” Naoki asked with a smile.

Professor Oak replied: ”In a week.”

A week later? Isn’t that May 27th?

”Alright, I’ll make preparations in advance.” agreed Naoki.

After the two made plans, they ended the call and each went on to prepare for the upcoming summer camp.

To avoid revealing his identity, Naoki found the Farfetch’d sharpening its scallion in the Scallion Garden, and asked it to swap its giant scallion for an ordinary one, to disguise as an ordinary Farfetch’d.

Then, Naoki decided to temporarily close the ranch’s entrance to the Reversed World, and visited the World Tree to instruct the Dragonites to temporarily use the sky route to travel between the ranch and the Land of Dragons.

Finally, Naoki found the group of Eevees, asking them whether they wanted to stay at home or play at the World Tree during the three days from May 27th to May 30th.

Upon hearing this, the Eevees all asked what was happening.

Thus, Naoki informed them of the news that many human children were coming to the ranch to see the Pokemon.

Hearing this, partner Eevee immediately got excited.

”Ee-eevee?!”

With so many humans coming to the ranch, is it just like those trainers who came for the trial challenge?

So thrilling, can it battle with those humans then?

Using its recently learned Extreme Evoboost, just like Gogoat would treat those challengers, it would defeat them all resoundingly!

Just the thought made partner Eevee already excited.

Naoki: ”...”

He helplessly patted the small head of partner Eevee, saying:

”Those people are still kids, they haven’t become official Pokemon Trainers yet, and they don’t have their own Pokemon partners, so they can’t battle with you.”

”Ee-ee...,” partner Eevee immediately felt disappointed.

”However, someday when there’s an opportunity, I’ll host a [Special Trial for Eevees] at the ranch, and by then trainers will come to challenge, then you can have a showdown with them.” Naoki added.

Upon hearing this, partner Eevee’s ears, which were drooping due to disappointment, suddenly perked up again.

”Ee-eevee!”

At the same time, inside Professor Oak’s Research Institute.

After hanging up the phone, Professor Oak went to the living room.

On the sofa sat a handsome teenager, around thirteen or fourteen years old, radiating a calm and collected demeanor.

”Gary, do you want to come with me to attend the summer camp?” Professor Oak looked at the boy and asked with a smile: ”Just so you can stay with me a few more days.”

Gary glanced at Professor Oak and shook his head, politely declining: ”Though I’d like to stay home a few more days, Professor Rowan still needs my help.”

Since finishing his travels in the Johto Region, Gary had stopped his trainer training and transformed into a Pokemon researcher, and went to Professor Rowan’s lab in the Sinnoh Region to assist with research.

This return is because he wanted to see the Pokemon he raised at the institute, and having seen them, Gary plans to return to the Sinnoh Region to continue his researcher training.

Upon hearing his grandson’s words, Professor Oak showed a look of regret:

”That’s such a pity. Do you know the destination of our summer camp this time? It’s a dreamy place inhabited by many rare and uncommon Pokemon!”

Gary: ”...” Grandpa is trying to entice him again.

Don’t think he doesn’t know; previous summer camps have always been held in the forest near Pallet Town.

The wild Pokemon there, no matter how rare, would only be a Farfetch’d or a Scyther.

However, Professor Oak continued, disregarding any caution, ”It’s the Land of Dragons, home to dozens of Dragonite!”

Hmm? Gary raised an eyebrow slightly, dozens of Dragonite? This sounds too exaggerated. Grandpa wouldn’t be planning to hold the summer camp at the Dragon Taming Clan’s Dragon’s Holy Sanctuary, would he?

Professor Oak added: ”Not only that, but it’s also inhabited by incredibly rare Legendary Pokemon and mysterious Mythical Pokemon.”
