Chapter 346: Chapter 226: Depressed Pokemon

Naoki: ”...”

All right!

Compared to Great Tusk and Scream Tail, Koraidon is definitely the most powerful Pokemon.

Naoki simply sat down beside Koraidon to bask in the sun together.

Koraidon comfortably squinted its eyes, while Naoki began to recall which ancient Paradox Pokemon existed.

Donphan’s paradox form is Great Tusk,

Jigglypuff’s paradox form is Scream Tail,

Amoonguss’s paradox form is Brute Bonnet,

Misdreavus’s paradox form is Flutter Mane,

Volcarona’s paradox form is Slither Wing,

Magneton’s paradox form is Sandy Shocks,

Salamence’s paradox form is Roaring Moon.

In addition, there are the ancient forms of the three Pokemon from Ho-oh’s guard.

By the time he traveled through time, two forms had already been announced: Suicune’s paradox form, Walking Wake, and Lei Gong’s paradox form, Raging Bolt.

Only Entei’s paradox form hasn’t been announced yet; its name and image are unknown.

”I wonder how powerful these Legendary beasts’ ancient forms can be...” Naoki murmured to himself.

They were surely summoned by the Time Machine like many other Paradox Pokemon.

If that’s truly the case, then it means he might have a chance to encounter them in the Paldea Giant Pit.

After lunch, Naoki went to the Berry Garden to check on the injured Pokemon.

The Berry Garden was very quiet, with almost no sounds from the Pokemon, contrasting sharply with the laughter of the Alcremie and Naclstack on the meadow outside.

Looking inside, Naoki saw that all the Pokemon were hiding in the wooden cabin, seeming like they hadn’t yet emerged from that shadow.

It was now 1 PM, nearly thirty hours since the fire incident occurred.

Although they were now in a safe environment with no worries about food and shelter, their spirits still appeared extremely downcast and listless.

Seeing Naoki approach, some Pokemon poked their heads out of the cabin.

Naoki made eye contact with them, giving a slight smile: ”I’m here to check on how your injuries are healing.”

”Chii!”

The lively Greedent was the first to hop out of the small cabin.

Its fluffy big tail wagged behind it, looking absolutely adorable, provided you could overlook the patch of burnt, bald fur.

Greedent cradled its injured tail, presenting it to Naoki for inspection, looking pitiful: ”Chii chii...”

Naoki examined it carefully and couldn’t hold back a smile: ”You’re fine now, the burn has healed, and by the end of this winter, the burned-off fur will regrow.”

”Chii!”

Upon hearing that the fur would regrow, the carefree Greedent immediately stopped worrying.

Turning around, it waggled its big tail and ran back to its little cabin.

Following Greedent’s path, Naoki spotted a pile of berries behind it.

Those must be the ones Greedent stored for the winter, right?

Because this Pokémon’s habits are very similar to squirrels in reality, hoarding food for later.

Thinking of this, Naoki couldn’t help but think about the scorched, barren forest on the hill in the back.

Could one of those trees have been filled with berries by Greedent?

But if those areas got burned down, Greedent would likely be very upset, wouldn’t it?

Greedent was indeed very upset.

It was sad for an entire day yesterday until it stashed another batch of berries in its nest this morning, which made it feel better.

Seeing the piles of full berries in the wooden cabin made Greedent feel incredibly happy.

Sheltering the berries with its tail, it then lay down on them, looking utterly delighted.

Seeing that Greedent was fine, Naoki moved on.

The first was the Wattrel on the tree.

Its wings had been burned yesterday, causing it to lose its ability to fly, and this Wattrel had been despondent for quite a while.

It kept trying to flap its wings to fly, but all attempts failed.

Seeing this, Naoki stepped up to lift it down, examining its bandaged wings.

Sure enough, he noticed even more severe injuries.

Naoki frowned and called his brother, Indeedee, to bring the medical kit while reapplying medicine to the Wattrel, saying:

”Until your wounds are fully healed, you shouldn’t fly. Every flap of your wings worsens the injury, and continuing like this might mean they’ll never recover.”

Upon hearing this, a flash of fear appeared in Wattrel’s eyes, and it immediately settled down, hanging its head to show it wouldn’t do it again.

Naoki stroked its head and said: ”I know flying is your nature. Without your wings, you’re scared you might not be able to fly again, which is why you’ve been trying so hard.”

Wattrel looked up at the human.

”I promise you that as long as you don’t flap your wings like before, they will heal. Before long, you’ll be able to fly in the sky again. Will you trust me?” Naoki asked.

Wattrel stared into his deep, dark eyes and hesitated before nodding.

”Good.” Naoki smiled, patting its head: ”From today, I’ll come to apply medicine to you twice a day.”

Naoki placed Wattrel back in the cabin and continued forward, seeing the figures of Petilil, Hoppip, Shroomish, and Surskit under several Berry trees ahead.

These Pokemon generally had very gentle dispositions. Even though they seemed dispirited, they greeted Naoki proactively.

Naoki smiled and approached them, checking their bodies: ”Your injuries have improved a lot. With a good sleep, you should be fully recovered.”

”Tala!”

Upon hearing this, the three Shroomish happily circled around Naoki.

The two Hoppip also began to float around Naoki.

Surskit and Petilil watched this scene with smiling faces from the side.

Seeing smiles return to these Pokemon’s faces finally allowed Naoki to breathe a small sigh of relief.

He glanced at the Tinkatink, Grafaiai, Kricketune, and Tandemaus gathering nearby after hearing the commotion and softly said, ”Everything will be okay.”

Naoki checked their bodies, and seeing no significant injuries, he stood up and looked around.

Suddenly, he noticed one Pokemon was missing.

Bellibolt was in the Underground Cave, its body had already recovered yesterday and was fine.

And the one missing...

”Where’s Slakoth?” Naoki couldn’t find it after searching around.

At this time, Tandemaus squeaked, pointing in one direction.

Naoki walked over and soon saw Slakoth lying on the grass surrounded by berry trees.

A beam of sunlight filtered through the leaves, hitting the ground where Slakoth lay motionless.

Even though someone approached, it barely moved its eyes before lazily letting out a yawn.

Naoki: ”...”

It was clear that this Slakoth had fully adapted to its environment.
