Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 343: Chapter 223: Geeta Wants to Challenge the Grass Trial?

Geeta felt this was the case, but then her thoughts turned to the spectacular scene she had witnessed yesterday—the Grassy Terrain covering the hills, with thousands of blades of grass swaying in the wind, resembling a sea of green.

A Gogoat of Championship Level was battling a Trainer passing by the ranch.

Grass Trial, she wondered?

Geeta, curious, asked, ”Can you introduce me to this Grass Trial?”

Upon hearing this, Naoki paused slightly, wondering what Geeta intended to do.

Geeta smiled and explained, ”I’m just a bit curious, wondering what kind of trial it might be.”

Naoki: ”...”

He thought about it, then decided to tell Geeta the details of the Grass Trial.

”The trial consists of three stages: the first stage is battling one Gogoat, then you can challenge the second stage by battling two Gogoats at the same time, and similarly, the third stage requires facing three.”

”Trainers who pass all stages can receive a special dish prepared by me.”

After hearing that, Geeta’s eyes revealed a look of interest.

She wasn’t particularly concerned about the trial’s prizes; she just wanted to see what the result would be when her Gogoat battled these Gogoats.

”Can I give it a try?” Geeta asked.

Naoki opened his mouth, feeling helpless, ”...Sure.”

It seemed that at this point, Geeta had just recently become the Champion, and neither her character nor presence was as mature and imposing as in the games.

Naoki called over the three Gogoats and asked Indeedee to prepare a meal for significant recovery, then led Geeta to the simple battlefield.

Geeta took a Poke Ball from her waist, and with a flash of white light, a Gogoat just as strong appeared before her.

Geeta said, ”This is the Gogoat I raised, let’s have a match between them!”

Seeing the Gogoat, Naoki suddenly felt a headache and quickly said, ”Wait, wait!”

Geeta looked over in surprise, ”What’s wrong?”

Naoki pointed to Geeta’s Gogoat, ”May I ask, what is its ability? If it’s Sap Sipper, then there’s no need for this battle.”

Because one of his Gogoats also had the Sap Sipper ability.

Sap Sipper: When hit by a Grass Type Move, no damage is taken, and the Pokemon’s Attack is boosted.

If the battle proceeds with these abilities, it might just end up as ”Stop fighting, go fight in the dance studio.”

Such a battle doesn’t need to happen.

Indeed, Geeta had already thought of this.

She nodded, saying, ”That was my oversight. In that case, I’ll switch to another Pokemon!”

With that, she recalled the Gogoat into its Poke Ball and took out another one.

Watching this, Naoki was curious.

Geeta’s Pokemon...is it Espathra or Glimmora?

With a flash of white light, a Kingambit with a sharp gaze, radiating the aura of a general, appeared in front of Geeta.

Naoki: ”...”

Alright, it’s neither.

Kingambit, a Pokemon with Steel and Dark types, evolved from Bisharp, excels at suppressing opponents with brute strength.

”Are you ready?” Geeta stood at one end of the field.

Naoki nodded, signaling one of the Gogoats to step forward.

The other two Gogoats stayed behind to watch; both Naoki and they were quite familiar with this routine.

Seeing this, Geeta paused, ”Aren’t you going to step forward to command?”

Naoki: ”...Gogoats can battle on their own.”

He’s really just a rancher, ah!

Geeta frowned slightly, murmuring, ”This isn’t the kind of battle I wanted!”

She pondered briefly and then took a few steps back, with a hint of regret, ”So be it; if Gogoat doesn’t need your command, then I won’t command Kingambit either. That’s fair!”

With that, Geeta’s eyes sharpened, and she looked at Naoki, ”Let me see your talents, shall we? Kingambit, fight autonomously!”

”Hmph!” Kingambit glanced sideways, nodded slightly, then focused all its attention on its opponent.

The battle officially began!

In an instant, Gogoat started moving.

Immense Grass Energy flowed naturally from its body, and almost instantaneously, it formed a Grassy Terrain beneath its feet.

The next second, a massive and sturdy Vine Whip shot out from its body, aiming high at the Kingambit below.

Geeta’s eyes narrowed.

Is that...Vine Whip?

In her impression, weren’t Vine Whips supposed to be slender and flexible, like the ones from Snivy? But why was this Vine Whip so thick, like a giant python!

”No!” Thinking of the Grassy Terrain beyond common understanding, the Champion quickly judged internally, ”You can’t gauge that Gogoat with common sense!”

On the battlefield, Kingambit watched calmly as this unfolded, and then the huge sword atop its head emitted an intense white light.

The thick Vine Whip struck down, instantly being sliced in half.

The first round of confrontation, neither side backed down.

Kingambit’s eyes locked onto Gogoat.

At the same time, Gogoat gathered more thick Vine Whips, hurling them towards Kingambit.

Faced with such an extreme scene, Kingambit didn’t panic at all; it simply stood up suddenly, its claws transforming into sharp blades, charging straight out.

The massive Vine Whips intertwined, attempting to attack Kingambit.

With green light flickering, Kingambit’s claws swung quickly and continuously, instantly slicing through the huge Vine Whips.

Gogoat seemed never to have encountered such a situation; it stayed rooted in place for a moment.

Yet, in the next moment, Kingambit broke through the encirclement and arrived before it.

Raising its arm, turned into a blade, high, the last Fury Cutter slashed down directly.

Gogoat was struck hard, collapsing to the ground.

Upon seeing this, Naoki felt a twinge in his heart.

”As expected, there is still some gap between Gogoat and Champion Level Pokemon, and its battle experience is far more lacking compared to Kingambit.”

Kingambit silently looked at Gogoat.

Seeing this, Naoki murmured, ”It’s going to lose.”

Will the first trial of the Grass Trial finally be passed?

However, in the next second, the situation on the field surpassed his expectations.

Suddenly, a surge of intense energy erupted from the Grassy Terrain, drawing Kingambit’s attention, alertly turning to scan the surroundings.

And that energy flowed entirely into Gogoat’s body.

Subsequently, Gogoat recovered its stamina, its determined gaze locking onto the Kingambit standing tall before it.

Powerful energy burst from its body, causing its pair of huge, sharp horns to suddenly grow larger.

”Meh ah!”

The next second, Horn Leech pierced into Kingambit’s body, beginning to siphon its strength.

Kingambit sensed something was wrong and quickly retreated from its position.

It attempted to fall back, but Gogoat had already locked onto him.

Gogoat lowered its body slightly, shooting out like an arrow from a bowstring, a flash of white light, reaching Kingambit in the blink of an eye.

And in its mouth, a massive, gleaming blade of Grass had appeared out of nowhere.

Before anyone could even catch up with the sight, that blade of Grass had already sliced across Kingambit’s body.

Kingambit was struck powerfully, its strong form flying backward through the air.

The violent impact forced a bit of drool from its mouth, and it emitted a guttural sound from its throat.

At that moment, time seemed frozen.

After a brief daze, Naoki quickly snapped back to reality.

Again with that move, closing the distance with an Aerial Ace and pursuing with Leaf Blade!

Turned the tables? Naoki paused slightly, then a thought that he could hardly believe emerged in his mind—Gogoat defeated a Champion Level Pokemon?

Not just him, even Geeta, witnessing the instant reversal in the situation, stood bewildered.

She gazed at the Gogoat, her mind replaying its attack with that massive Grass blade in its mouth.

What...move was that?

A question mark appeared above Geeta’s head.
