Picking Up a Gorgeous CEO for a Wife

Chapter 1185: Chapter 1185: Dismissal of the Meeting

Su Xinglei opened his mouth but found himself unable to utter a single word, as Qin Yu’s five percent of the shares, like a heavy hammer, had knocked him senseless!

“Vice Chairman Tian, General Manager Yang, Director Zhang, why are you still not leaving the conference room? Do you want to eavesdrop on our board’s secrets? If you don’t leave now, don’t blame me for being impolite.”

Su Ziyan let out a cold laugh, “You were all jumping around just now, weren’t you? Keep jumping then!”

The faces of Tian Peng, Yang Qian, and Zhang Junqing alternated between green and white. When had they ever been so humiliated?

The three could only grit their teeth and swallow their pride, quietly exiting the conference room without a word.

Watching the three leave, looking as dejected as if they had just been defeated in a fight, and seeing Su Xinglei resembling a beaten rooster, the shareholders’ gazes toward Su Ziyan grew fervent.

“Uncle, I have one more percentage point of the shares than you, making me the major shareholder of Su Group. The position of chairman should rightly be mine.”

“I agree!”

“Seconded!”

“+!”

The shareholders nodded in agreement, apparently forgetting that they had been on Su Xinglei’s side just moments before, forgetting all the promises Su Xinglei had made them.

“I disagree!”

Su Xinglei forcefully slammed the table, drawing everyone’s attention before speaking in a grave tone, “Let’s wait a month before we decide on the election of the chairman!

Didn’t my great-niece say she would make Su Group’s beverage factory profitable on its own within a month?

If my great-niece can achieve this, then I will acknowledge her as the chairman!”

“Deal! Let’s stick to that agreement,” Su Ziyan snapped up the proposal without any hesitation, fearing Su Xinglei might backtrack.

Su Xinglei was somewhat confused. What’s going on? How could Su Ziyan be so confident?

“Great-niece, is there anything else? If there’s nothing else, shall we conclude today’s board meeting?” Feeling the tide had turned, Su Xinglei’s interest waned.

“Wasn’t it you, Uncle, who initiated this board meeting? Then why are you asking me if there’s anything else? I should be the one asking you that question!” Su Ziyan’s smile bordered on a sneer as she looked at Su Xinglei.

Su Xinglei’s face darkened. Damn it, with everything already said by you, with you stealing all the limelight and reaping the benefits, what more do you want?

“No… nothing else. Let’s adjourn the meeting,” he said.

“Nothing else?” Su Ziyan let out a cold laugh. “Uncle, I really must criticize you! If there’s nothing else, then why did you call this board meeting?

Do you think all of us directors have nothing better to do?

Do you feel a sense of achievement by playing with us like this?”

I %&￥&…

Su Xinglei felt the urge to curse. He finally understood what it meant to be hoisted by one’s own petard, what it felt like to “boil dumplings in a teapot”—having grievances yet being unable to voice them!

Swallowing his anger, Su Xinglei responded, “Yes, great-niece, you are right in your lesson. I will never carelessly convene a board meeting again. I won’t waste the directors’ time!”

“Good! Since Uncle has recognized his mistake, let’s adjourn the meeting.”

Su Xinglei almost ran out of the meeting room with his face covered, feeling a stinging sensation on his back, keenly aware of the mocking gazes that must have been following him!

The directors bid their farewells one after another, leaving only Qin Yu and Su Ziyan in the room. Su Ziyan looked at Qin Yu with a grateful expression.

“Honey, I won’t say thank you. I’ll be waiting for you to come home!”

“Hmm, goodbye.” Qin Yu cast a deep glance at Su Ziyan, stood up, and walked towards the exit.

“Husband, shall I see you out?” Su Ziyan suddenly quickened her pace and grabbed Qin Yu’s hand.
