Picking Up a Gorgeous CEO for a Wife

Chapter 1155: Chapter 1155: Rest Well

”Time really is a killer!”

Li Xiuyi said with a face full of concern, ”Second brother, don’t talk! The doctor said you just had surgery and need to rest.”

”It’s okay, I know my own body. Is that Qin Yu? Qin Yu, come here, let your Second Uncle have a good look at you.” Li Zhimin struggled to turn his head to look at Qin Yu.

Qin Yu frowned slightly. Although he was indifferent to relatives, he did not despise this Second Uncle. He could feel that his Second Uncle genuinely liked his mother and him.

”You’re right, Mom. You just had surgery, so don’t talk. You shouldn’t get emotional; what you need most now is rest, so that you can recover fully.”

”Good! Good! Good! My sister has a good child; your Second Uncle will rest now!”

”Mom, let’s go. Let’s not disturb Second Uncle’s rest.”

Li Xiuyi nodded her head, turned to look at Li Zhimin, ”Second brother, rest well, I’ll come to see you another day.”

After leaving the hospital room, Li Xiuyi once again turned her attention to Qin Yu, ”You rascal, ever since you got a wife, you’ve forgotten your mom. Tell me, how long has it been since you last came home?”

”Cough cough... My wife’s place is closer to the company; it’s inconvenient to stay at home and go to work.”

”I don’t want to hear your excuses. Here’s the rule: from now on, you have to come home once a week, or else, be careful or I’ll kick you out of the house!”

”Mom, I can’t right now. I have to go on a business trip tomorrow; I might not be able to come back for a month. How about this, when I’m back from the trip, I will bring Ziyan with me every weekend.”

”A business trip? For a month?”

”The company is expanding some new business in Capital City.” Qin Yu didn’t want to worry his mother, so he told a kind lie.

”I see.” After pausing, Li Xiuyi said in a heavy tone, ”If you run into any trouble, you can seek help from the Houtu Sect.”

”The Houtu Sect? I don’t recognize anyone from the Houtu Sect aside from my Second Uncle!

Mom, have you forgotten about the incident from ten years ago?

It was clearly the child from Third Uncle’s family who broke the vase, yet they blamed it on me, and you got scolded because of it too.”

”Xiao Yu, no matter what, you’re still blood of the Houtu Sect. Mom was wrong back then; I brought shame upon the Houtu Sect’s reputation, which is why they targeted us, mother and son. Blame me if you want to.”

”How could I blame you? Mom, you really don’t have to worry about me. I’m doing fine; we can live well without the Houtu Sect! It’s getting late; let me take you home.”

Li Xiuyi sighed, not trying to persuade Qin Yu anymore, knowing he was as stubborn as a mule.

Under Qin Yu’s lead, they stopped in front of a black luxury car.

If she were an ordinary housewife, she might have marveled at the Mercedes, but Li Xiuyi looked as nonchalant as if the two-million-yuan Mercedes Maybach was no different from her husband’s taxi.

”Xiao Yu, isn’t it inappropriate for you to use a company car for personal use? After work, try not to use the company car for personal affairs.”

Qin Yu grinned, ”Mom, don’t worry, this is your daughter-in-law’s car, not some company car.”

Li Xiuyi raised her eyebrows but didn’t say anything, settling into the passenger seat.

With a roar, the luxury vehicle started up and headed towards Mingdu Garden. Qin Yu parked the car downstairs, and after going upstairs, he took a short rest in his own little nest.

Of course, before sleeping, he set his phone alarm for 23:00.
