Picking Up a Gorgeous CEO for a Wife

24: Chapter 0024: I speak quite directly 24: Chapter 0024: I speak quite directly Having said goodbye to Qiao Anran, Su Ziyan took the initiative to link her arm through Qin Yu’s and walked towards the exit.

On the one hand, it was to prevent Qiao Anran from becoming suspicious; on the other hand, there was a tiny bit of warmth in her heart when Qin Yu had sworn his promise earlier.

Qin Yu nearly died of happiness, his beloved Yanyan was actually holding his arm voluntarily!

Unfortunately, Qin Yu’s excitement did not last long.

Just after turning a corner, Su Ziyan loosened her grip on his arm.

Qin Yu shrugged his shoulders, knowing that the road to revolution was still long and that he must continue to put in effort.

Qin Yu deliberately slowed his pace, observing Su Ziyan’s graceful figure from behind.

What puzzled Qin Yu was, wasn’t his obedient wife very disdainful of her?

Why then did she suddenly stop at the entrance of the civil affairs office?

“Qin Yu, what are you dawdling for?

Hurry up, I’m in a rush,” said Su Ziyan with a look of dissatisfaction.

In a hurry?

Qin Yu was taken aback, asking with a puzzled face, “Didn’t we just finish getting the license?

Why are you in a rush?”

“I have a banquet to attend shortly,” Su Ziyan explained with gritted teeth.

“Attending a banquet?

Then hurry along, I’ll head home,” Qin Yu replied.

Su Ziyan was so irritated by Qin Yu that she nearly snapped her teeth, she bit out the words, “Qin Yu, if you want your newly-wed wife to be snatched away by someone else, then go home!”

Having said that, Su Ziyan turned and walked away.

Qin Yu was taken aback.

Someone wanted to steal his wife?

This definitely would not do!

Qin Yu quickly caught up, exclaiming, “Wife, who wants to steal you?

Just tell me, I’ll break his damned legs!”

“Just follow me, and as long as you do, nobody will be able to steal me,” she said.

“Okay.”

The two got into the car, Su Ziyan started the Kaman, and drove towards the city center.

Fifteen minutes later, the Porsche Kaman pulled up at Luo City’s most luxurious pedestrian street.

Qin Yu was confused.

Weren’t they supposed to attend some kind of banquet?

Why had his precious Yanyan come to the pedestrian street?

Clearly, Su Ziyan had no intention of explaining, she just said coldly, “Get out of the car.”

Qin Yu shrugged his shoulders, obediently got out, and maybe the banquet location was hidden within this pedestrian street?

Qin Yu followed behind Su Ziyan who didn’t pay him any attention and just walked ahead on her own.

Five minutes later, Su Ziyan stopped in front of a Luo Mong franchise store.

Curiosity struck Qin Yu as he looked around but did not see any restaurant or the like.

“Come in,” said Su Ziyan, glancing at Qin Yu before striding into the Luo Mong store.

“Wife, I thought you were going to a banquet?

This is a clothing store, not a restaurant,” Qin Yu said, utterly confused.

“If I tell you to come in, come in.

What’s with all the questions?” said Su Ziyan, evidently annoyed.

If it weren’t for his shabby attire, would she need to bring him here to buy clothes?

Seeing Su Ziyan getting a bit angry, Qin Yu quickly entered the specialty store.

Perhaps his wife wanted to buy a set of clothes for the banquet.

With that thought, Qin Yu stepped into the store.

Upon entering, Qin Yu was dumbstruck.

Huh?

Why is everything here men’s wear?

Before Qin Yu could snap back to reality, Su Ziyan had already made a beeline for the counter.

As they walked, she picked out several business suits, which were much trendier than the tailcoat Qin Yu was wearing.

“Wife, what are you doing?”

“Take these, try them on for me to see.”

Su Ziyan had no intention of answering Qin Yu, instead, she stuffed five or six suits into Qin Yu’s arms.

When Qin Yu saw the price tags, oh my, a single suit cost several thousand!

All of these five or six suits came to almost twenty thousand.

Obediently, Qin Yu entered the fitting room and changed into a suit.

When Qin Yu came out, Su Ziyan’s eyes lit up.

The brand-new suit made Qin Yu look even more upright and handsome!

Su Ziyan couldn’t deny that her fake husband had a good figure.

“How is it?”

Having changed his outfit suddenly, Qin Yu felt somewhat awkward, adjusting his clothes and looking towards Su Ziyan.

“So-so, try on another for me to see.”

Qin Yu nodded and dutifully tried on the suits in succession.

For some reason, after a few changes, Su Ziyan deeply furrowed her brow.

She suddenly had a strange feeling; these suits looked alright on Qin Yu at a glance.

But upon closer inspection, something felt off, like there was something missing.

Why did this happen?

Su Ziyan couldn’t figure out why, when suddenly, she envisioned Qin Yu in that old-fashioned tailcoat he wore before.

While it looked very common at first glance, the more she looked, the more comfortable it became.

It must be an illusion!

How could such an outdated relic compare to Luo Mong’s latest designs?

“How about this one?” As Su Ziyan pondered, Qin Yu stepped out of the fitting room again.

“Wow, this gentleman is truly a natural clothes hanger; this suit looks as though it was tailor-made!

It fits perfectly!

So handsome!”

Before Su Ziyan could speak, the shop assistant nearby burst out with praise.

Although Qin Yu was a fake husband, Su Ziyan still felt very proud when he received complements.

Su Ziyan gave a slight nod, “We’ll take this one, check out, the password is six nines.”

Su Ziyan handed her bank card to the shop assistant, who accepted it with both hands and quickly walked to the counter to check out.

Suddenly, Qin Yu felt like he was being kept, and said with a sheepish laugh, “Wife, I know you treat me really well, but you don’t need to buy clothes for me.”

“Do you think I enjoy buying clothes for you?

I also have to buy you shoes later.

The banquet we’re attending tonight is of high caliber, and I don’t want to be embarrassed being seen with you.”

Embarrassed?

This word stung Qin Yu’s nerves.

Qin Yu laughed dryly, decisively turned around, and went back to the fitting room to change into his own tailcoat.

“Qin Yu, what are you doing?” Su Ziyan furrowed her brows.

“If you think I’m embarrassing, then I simply won’t go to the banquet.”

Qin Yu huffed, always considering himself excellent, he couldn’t accept being associated with the word embarrassing.

“Qin Yu, maybe I speak too plainly, I hope you won’t mind.

As I explained before, the banquet we are going to attend later is quite upscale, and it’s essential that we dress a bit more high-class, otherwise people will look down upon us.”

“Wife, a person’s caliber isn’t set off by their clothes.

Once you reach a certain level, even if you’re wearing rags, you can still set trends.

Besides, I’m already dressed very formally, with high caliber.”

Qin Yu’s statement wasn’t an overstatement, this outfit of his would suffice even for high-society gatherings in the United Kingdom, and if the Queen of England met him, she would have to be polite.

“Qin Yu, you are going too far!”

Su Ziyan was on the verge of feeling wronged, how did she end up with such an unreliable fake husband?

Wearing such an antique outfit and still having the nerve to say he was very formal and high-class?
