Picking Up a Gorgeous CEO for a Wife

9: Chapter 009: Feigning Retreat to Trap the Enemy 9: Chapter 009: Feigning Retreat to Trap the Enemy Liu Jian was somewhat disappointed, he had hoped that Qin Yu would be suitable for the job, having witnessed his combativeness.

However, he was also satisfied with Guan Peng.

This man was quite straightforward and honest in dealing with things.

Gathering his emotions, Liu Jian looked at Guan Peng with a smile.

“Mr.

Guan, shall we sign the contract now?”

“Yes, yes, sign the contract.”

Guan Peng was extremely excited, he had foreseen the beginning but not the end.

Life’s great ups and downs came too fast, truly making it hard to digest in a moment.

“Xiaoxiao, you’re a top student from the architecture department of Luo University, why would you want to apply to be a model?

The entertainment companies are very complicated, and if you’re not careful, you might be devoured to the bone.”

Qin Yu swept his caring gaze over Chu Xiaoxiao from head to toe.

Chu Xiaoxiao was a bit taller than Su Ziyan, with good body proportions and a pair of beautiful long legs, exuding the vibrancy of youth.

Only, she was much more naive than Su Ziyan and needed some cultivation before she could become a real charmer.

Of course, Qin Yu was willing to provide that cultivation.

“I also want to pursue a career that is related to my major.

I am confident in my area of study—as the champion of this year’s Luo University architecture department design competition.

But after inquiring at several architecture and decoration companies, they all required work experience.”

Qin Yu nodded, showing he understood.

Qin Yu had been strolling in the talent market for over a month and was familiar with the recruiters here.

Cheng Yuan took Chu Xiaoxiao’s hand and headed towards one of the recruitment booths.

“Mr.

Qin, where are you taking me?”

Chu Xiaoxiao did not struggle despite her hand being held, because Qin Yu was very handsome, utterly overshadowing those so-called male idols.

Chu Xiaoxiao was a true beauty enthusiast, and at this moment her little heart was thumping wildly.

How wonderful it would be if she could have a boyfriend like Mr.

Qin.

“I am well acquainted with people from Xiangyu Construction Company.

Perhaps you can showcase your talents there.”

Qin Yu smiled lightly, appreciating this kind of innocent yet self-reliant girl.

Cough cough…

Actually, what’s most important is that Chu Xiaoxiao was a beauty.

Xiangyu?

Chu Xiaoxiao’s eyes lit up!

Although Xiangyu was a new company, its growth momentum was very swift.

If it continued to develop at this pace, going public was inevitable.

Chu Xiaoxiao hesitantly asked, “Mr.

Qin, do you really know people from Xiangyu Construction Company?”

Qin Yu nodded, Xiangyu Construction Company belonged to Liu Tian’s family business.

Liu Tian had repeatedly invited Qin Yu to help, but Qin Yu had always withheld agreement.

He did not want to live off the charity of his brother, maintaining his own dignity.

“Yu, you’re here?”

Sitting on the recruiter’s side were a man and two women.

The manager responsible for recruitment clearly recognized Qin Yu.

Qin Yu nodded and said with a smile, “Zhou Xiaobei, I’d like to introduce you to a future great designer, Chu Xiaoxiao.

Xiaoxiao, this is the HR manager of Xiangyu Company, Zhou Xiaobei.”

“Manager Zhou, hello, we’ve talked just now.”

Chu Xiaoxiao was a little nervous, unconsciously twisting the hem of her clothes.

“Xiaoxiao, you’re wrong here.

How come you didn’t mention knowing our brother Yu earlier?

Xiao Li, give Xiaoxiao a form to fill out.

You can come to work tomorrow.

Since you haven’t graduated yet, start as a designer’s assistant, any objections?”

Huh?

She got into Xiangyu so easily?

Chu Xiaoxiao couldn’t believe her ears.

It took Chu Xiaoxiao a good while to come back to her senses, bowing nonstop to Zhou Xiaobei.

“Thank you, Manager Zhou, for giving me this opportunity.

Assistant designer is great!

I’m on it!”

After filling out the contract, Chu Xiaoxiao’s cheeks flushed as she looked at Qin Yu.

“Thank you, Brother Yu.

I definitely won’t let you down.

I’ll surely become a great designer in the future!”

Brother Yu?

Qin Yu’s eyebrows twitched, a sense of satisfaction rising in his heart as his relationship with the girl stepped up a notch.

If it were an ordinary person, at such a time, they’d surely climb up the pole.

They might take this chance to invite Chu Xiaoxiao out for a meal, follow it up with some singing, and if lucky, get her drunk and take her to a hotel for this and that.

But Qin Yu didn’t.

He considerately said, “You’re starting work tomorrow, so go back this afternoon and prepare well.

Opportunities are for those who are prepared.”

An unusual glint shimmered in Chu Xiaoxiao’s eyes, feeling a deep sense of care in Qin Yu’s words.

At this moment, Chu Xiaoxiao’s heart was filled with gratitude and emotion.

If Qin Yu made any demands at this point, she would likely agree without hesitation.

Seeing the soft, adoring look in Chu Xiaoxiao’s eyes, Qin Yu cracked a slight smile.

That old pervert’s “Flirting Techniques for Dummies” was indeed effective.

“Xiaoxiao, I still need to look for a job, so I must excuse myself first.”

Clearly, this was the “play hard to get” tactic from the Flirting Techniques for Dummies.

And sure enough, Chu Xiaoxiao fell for it.

Chu Xiaoxiao looked at Qin Yu with expectant eyes.

“Brother Yu, may I have your number?

Once I’m settled in the company, I’ll treat you to a meal.”

“Oh, I almost forgot to leave my number for Xiaoxiao.

It’s 136xxxxxxxx.”

Qin Yu slapped his forehead, feigning an almost-forgotten act.

The guy was smug as hell inside.

The old pervert was right; it’s cooler when the girls ask for your number themselves.

Wasn’t Qin Yu afraid of overplaying his hand?

What if Chu Xiaoxiao forgot to ask for his number?

Of course, Qin Yu wasn’t worried at all.

Xiangyu Company was the property of his little brother, Liu Tian.

With Liu Tian looking out for him, did he really need to fear Chu Xiaoxiao slipping away?

If he wished, he could create lots of coincidental encounters down the line.

Chu Xiaoxiao, unaware that she had become Qin Yu’s prey, thanked him over and over.

With a glance back every three steps, she bid a reluctant farewell to Qin Yu.

After saying goodbye to Chu Xiaoxiao, Qin Yu’s expression soured.

Dammit!

For the sake of wooing a girl, I’d let an easy job slip right through my fingers.

Was it easy for me?

Now what am I supposed to do when I get back?

Mom is definitely going to nag me to death.

Qin Yu wandered aimlessly around the job fair, but unfortunately, he couldn’t find a suitable position.

As the hiring companies left their booths one by one, Qin Yu could only regretfully head for the exit.

“Brother Yu, if you just gave the nod, being General Liu’s little brother, you’d at least get a vice president position.

Why bother job hunting so hard?”

Zhou Xiaobei looked puzzled, finding Qin Yu a real oddball for not leveraging his solid connections.

“I am a man.”

Qin Yu chuckled self-deprecatingly and turned to walk out the door.

I am a man?

Zhou Xiaobei felt as if all his pores had exploded!

From the confident, indifferent tone of Qin Yu’s voice, Zhou Xiaobei was sure that Qin Yu was bound for unimaginable potential in the future!
