Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1565: Chapter 45: Mistake (2)

In the special forces battle with the opponent, he gained no advantage. The challenge planned before the battle backfired. The opponent’s shameless and strong performance made him always think that the special forces camp appearing at Sunset Mountain was Fatty’s most elite unit.

He desperately launched attack after attack on this camp, at any cost. Like a gambler who had lost his senses, not knowing what he was doing at all.

By the time he came to his senses, only forty Judgers were left out of the two hundred. While the opponent, having lost more than two hundred Mech Knights and three hundred Mechas, and the remaining ones covered in scars and barely standing, still stood firm at the frontline.

All the Chuckna officers and soldiers watched them with reverence, inspired by them, fighting valiantly. That low mountain peak seemed unsurmountable for a moment.

Reinhardt didn’t regret losing almost all of his forces in this attack.

These three hundred Judgers were initially Sobel’s probing stone. Whether thrown at Sunset Mountain or into a pond, he didn’t care. Though Judgers were valuable, assessing the combat power of the bandit army was even more valuable for the entire war situation.

The alliance between the bandit army and Hastings had caught Sobel’s attention. Reinhardt also knew that General Binart, who held a grudge against Hastings for losing to him thirty years ago, was determined to have a showdown in the Southeast Star Domain.

The sacrifice of the three hundred Judgers would only show its value when Sobel personally led his army to the Southeast Star Domain!

His only regret, which also enraged him, was failing to see through Fatty’s tactics. Before they even met, he had already lost.

The Sunset Mountain campaign meticulously planned by Bellif would for a long time be a classic example of failure.

And Fatty, who led a daring large-scale outflanking maneuver to turn defeat into victory, would become an idol worshiped by countless soldiers!

This battle will be included in textbooks!

The thought that his name might be a key focus in the battle example, possibly mentioned repeatedly by long-winded professors as someone who was highly anticipated but ultimately failed to help the Su Jie Alliance Army break through Sunset Mountain and led to the final failure, made Reinhardt gnash his teeth in hatred.

There were two roads ahead.

Based on the current intelligence, Bellif was attacking the third section of the No.5 Resource Highway between Seven-star Town and Xiushui River Town.

That was a strategic point intersecting with the intercity highway. Capturing it, even if it didn’t break the situation, at least Bellif could rescue part of his forces, avoiding the main force’s total annihilation.

Fatty should be there!

”Since he wants to come in, let’s oblige him!”

Inside the brightly lit Command Mecha, Fatty stared at the electronic sandbox, humming, ”Once he’s satisfied, I’ll tighten my legs and let him come in but not get out!”

Several Alliance generals were left speechless. After a moment, Bonnie angrily spat, causing an uproarious laugh among everyone.

”What did I say wrong?” Fatty looked puzzled.

The atmosphere inside the Command Mecha was light and cheerful. The generals, already used to Fatty’s nonsensical talk along the way, didn’t bother with him, gathering around the electronic sandbox, discussing the plan that Fatty, the old rogue, had just proposed that stayed true to his usual crude style.

After taking Seven-star Town and Xiushui River Town, the entire western gate of the Sunset Mountain Basin would be fully under the bandit army’s control. The outcome of this battle was no longer in doubt!

The feeling of holding such a decisive victory in their hands was truly marvelous.

However, what nobody anticipated was Fatty’s unexpectedly large appetite. Beyond wanting to swallow Bellif’s main Northern Cluster at Sunset Mountain in one bite, he was also planning an even larger scheme.

Now, the plan was laid out in front of everyone, and just looking at it made hearts race!

”Sir,” a staff member’s report broke the discussion at the console. Everyone looked up to see this bandit army staff officer quickly approaching Fatty, handing over an electronic document, ”This is the intelligence just sent from the Chuckna Military Department.”

”Intelligence?” Fatty took the electronic document, opened it, decrypted it, and was startled as he turned to look at Bonnie.

”What’s wrong?” Bonnie’s charming smile held a hint of curiosity. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

”Reinhardt, he became a Judger,” Fatty scratched his belly, hesitantly saying, ”He’s here.”

The smile on Bonnie’s face vanished. Reinhardt, the proud and arrogant man, had actually undergone the humiliating human modification and was here?

Before she could recover, another staff member quickly approached Fatty, handing him the Sunset Mountain battle statistics report.

Bonnie glanced at the statistics, and her heart skipped a beat.

As she expected, Fatty’s face immediately darkened. Pale and grim, his teeth clenched audibly.

The report was a casualty tally from the Sunset Mountain, showing Stiller’s special forces camp suffered 156 fatalities, 78 seriously wounded. Out of more than 400 Rangers, only 100 remained after taking down 160 Judgers, each of them scarred.

Although Stiller’s First Division Special Forces Camp wasn’t the bandit army’s direct special forces and couldn’t be called the core force, there were many more formidable than them among the 20 armored divisions of the bandit army. However, to the protective and vengeful Fatty, it still felt like a knife plunging into his heart.

Just from this data, Bonnie could imagine how brutal the battle at Sunset Mountain had been.

More importantly, she understood better than anyone else that if it wasn’t for Reinhardt’s presence, Stiller’s special forces camp wouldn’t have suffered such heavy losses!

Fatty would stubbornly believe he made a wrong judgment, resulting in Stiller’s losses. He didn’t realize Reinhardt was here, so he only sent one camp of Stiller’s to Sunset Mountain.

And it was only a madman like Reinhardt who would continue to attack even after losing over eighty percent. Anyone else, losing over twenty percent of the Judgers would choose to retreat!

No one understood better than Bonnie the kind of crazed and vicious heart that lay beneath Reinhardt’s refined exterior.

Even now, thinking back to what happened in Mezrich, she still felt a chill. If not for Fatty, she might already have been a pile of bones!

In any case, Fatty would never spare Reinhardt!

Every warrior in the bandit army was dear to his heart. They were only allowed to kill others, not allowed to be resisted. Anyone who dared to touch even one of them would pay a hundredfold price from Fatty and all the officers and soldiers of the bandit army!

It might be unreasonable.

But that’s exactly what Fatty and everyone under his command thought. To them, this was the eternal truth!

Fatty made one mistake, but Reinhardt made three.

First, he shouldn’t have slaughtered the field hospital during the attack on the Sunset Mountain position.

Second, he shouldn’t have gone all out against Stiller’s special forces camp. In Fatty’s eyes, 160 Judgers weren’t worth a strand of Stiller’s hair!

Lastly, Reinhardt shouldn’t have come at all!

Bonnie turned back to look at the SkyNet screen. On it, fifty kilometers away, the largest part of the retreating Suss’s troops was rushing towards them. The ubiquitous little kid and frontline reconnaissance units were closely monitoring the opponent’s every move.

And among the Suss’s troops, totaling over seven regiments, were four tiny red dots at the forefront.

Those were the remaining 40 Judgers, moving this way.

Reinhardt might be among them!

Beside her, Fatty was sneering, his voice squeezing out word by word through clenched teeth, ”Damn it! Order the direct special forces to assemble for me!”
