Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 342: Volume 5 Chapter 1 Into Trouble Again

Wassim never imagined that the Commander who designed this precise plan was the Fatty standing next to him. And this shameless Fatty, who kept shouting about ”Monkey Stealing Peach,” turned out to be a student of the Great General Russell! To have such a disgraceful student come from such a renowned teacher, it really makes one want to cover their face and weep.

As the saying goes, ”the student surpasses the master.” If you had to find something that made Fatty more formidable than Russell, it was that he was more shameless than anyone in the world and cared even less about face or identity. This wretched man, inherently lewd and wanton, completely lacked the awareness of a strategist, a General, or a Commander. In his mind, he was just a Mechanic Soldier struggling to survive in a chaotic world.

Black cat, white cat... damn it, the one that’s alive is the good cat.

After Russell’s brutal case studies and forced memorization, tactical command had undergone a transformation from quantitative to qualitative change in this Fat Cat’s brain. He had learned how to view situations and make plans from the perspective of a military commander.

From a serious perspective, this operation was Fatty’s first demonstration of tactical planning, distinguishing him from ordinary Special Soldiers. Although this combat plan only involved the use of 120 Mechas, covered a distance of several kilometers, and lasted only an hour, Fatty very meticulously and carefully selected tactics from countless battle examples that best matched his personality and the battlefield situation. Terrain selection, timing, attack steps, target setting, combat power distribution, contingency plans—all were meticulously detailed by this cowardly scoundrel and transmitted to every warrior’s Mechanical Computer, for fear that any part of the plan might be inadequate and thus lead to their deaths.

With Fatty’s calculating ability, handling such a small battle involving just over a hundred Mechas was more than ample. He could even allocate each detail of the plan to the designated warrior! When Torick and his warriors executed this plan, they had only one feeling: clarity! Each warrior knew what they needed to do and the role they had to play in the operation.

In war, many excellent warriors do not fear a powerful enemy; they fear a stupid Commander. Especially those who only know how to constantly shout ”charge” or ”hold the line.”

An incompetent General leads to the death of three armies—this is a truth all warriors understand. So, this battle further strengthened the warriors’ confidence in Fatty. With Fatty’s perversion and baseness, even if they couldn’t gain an advantage, at least they wouldn’t suffer too much loss.

Fatty Tian was indeed considering how to gain an advantage!

In modern warfare, two Mechanical Armor Groups with 2,600 Seventh Generation Mechas and 200 Ninth Generation Mechas, without air superiority, were just a drop of water in the desert, ready to evaporate at any moment!

Therefore, Fatty felt very melancholic; the pressure of being a man was immense. Previously, when escaping, he usually ran alone and could run however he wanted. No army would go to great lengths for a small, despicable Fatty. A Patrol Team with one or two Mechas chasing him for a few minutes was already giving him a lot of face. But now, with two Mechanical Armor Groups behind enemy lines, facing countless waves of enemy pursuit and interception, Fatty knew that even if he used all his escape skills, he could not achieve a peaceful and safe space!

The human society in war is a typical world where the strong prey on the weak. Only the strongest lions have the luxury to lie under the sun and take a comfortable nap after feasting.

If Fat Cat wanted to become a lion, this Desic Mecha Force ahead of him could not be easily let go. Given the Desic’s military strength, even their Seventh Generation [Black Armed] had very strong offensive power. If they could acquire these Mechas and equip the Freedom Front that had fled into the mountains, it would greatly enhance the bandit army’s strength and effectiveness in enemy disguise and sabotage operations. However, Mechas were not like ancient warhorses that could be hauled away easily. All the warriors in the bandit army had their own Mechas, and the Freedom Front, which most needed Mechas, was nowhere to be found now.

From a distance, the sound of Desic Imperial Fighter and reconnaissance aircraft roared in the sky. Fatty knew there was no time to lose. According to the SkyNet Radar intelligence provided by Little Kid, the forces on the western side had already been successfully lured over and were advancing at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour through the jungle. If he couldn’t completely disarm this force and break contact within 40 minutes, another fierce battle would ensue!

Although the seven hundred Seventh Generation Mechas couldn’t be taken away, the [Listening] electronic mechas, [Royal Banner] medium-sized Mechas, and the three [Tide] heavy mechas were a hefty fortune. The [Antenna] and [Anger] of the Sharp Blade Company were configured with six to eight personnel each. If they weren’t in combat, some personnel could be assigned to take away twenty [Listening], twenty [Royal Banner], and three [Tide] mechas with no problem.

Having made up his mind, Fatty patted Wassim on the shoulder and said, ”Now, have your soldiers camp and prepare all Mechas for battle.”

Wassim secretly lamented. To camp meant to establish a temporary base, and to prepare for battle meant the standard procedure before large-scale combat for armored units. Either way, it meant ordering the 137th Division to disengage their Mechas from combat status and for warriors to leave their Mechas to gather and rest. Once they left their Mechas, they would be at the mercy of others.
