Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 313: Volume 4, Chapter 61 Cultivating Secret Techniques

Fatty was greatly impressed by how ”Monkey Stealing Peach” could be developed into such a sturdy and fierce martial arts skill. As he continued to read, he found hidden within it other extraordinary skills, such as ”Old Tree Root,” ”Heavenly Strike,” ”Lady Blows Flute,” ”Dragonfly Water Dipping,” ”Ice and Fire Ninefold Heaven,” and so on. Thinking about the peak of the indecent and obscene tricks from the predecessors, he couldn’t help but feel excited and captivated.

The more Tian Xingjian delved into research and study, the more obsessed he became with this martial arts manual.

As a mechanic, a mechanical warrior, Fatty could completely understand the weight of this so-called manual before him! If he hadn’t grasped the secrets of Mecha Martial Arts during the confrontation with the Desic Empire’s Hunter Mecha Group, solely relying on the mere twenty movements per second, he would have already been wiped out.

Even a shallow understanding of martial arts could save his life at critical moments, let alone this manual, which extracted the essence of Chinese Martial Arts, merged it with Eight Diagram principles, and systematically conducted scientific synthesis and analysis to establish true Systematic Mecha Martial Arts. Each move and style within it is incredibly delicate and powerful, how could one not be obsessed and enchanted?

If he could master these seventy-two moves, regardless of achieving Yin Yang Balance and reigning over the world, Fatty believed that, just by the continuity of martial arts, using forty movements per second with Mecha Combat that exceeds fifty movements per second, he could place himself among the ranks of true mecha combat masters! If his hand speed could breakthrough further, challenging top Level 11 even Level 12 mecha warriors like Aistrazzi wouldn’t be entirely impossible!

Fatty learned and practiced page by page, figuring out how to exert force with this move, how to defend with that move, whether the footwork should follow Qian or Kan position, and how to inconceivably shift to Li position. He meticulously considered how to command control, where to maintain the mecha’s center of gravity, and how to follow with the next move. When he encountered brilliant points, he clapped his hands in praise. When he didn’t understand, he would ask the little kid beside him.

This so-called manual was originally compiled by the little kid anyway, so there was nothing it didn’t understand. Though it had deficiencies in inner strength and Qigong aspects, confusing robots with humans, the moves were indeed the martial arts essence studied over thousands of years. Seeing Fatty’s humble eagerness to learn, naturally, the little kid gladly played the role of a mentor rather than misleading Fatty.

One who accepted preconceived notions and another who saw the exquisite creation developed over thousands of years finding a test subject, both engrossed in relentless tweaking and teaching beneath the ground, inside the cave, having a great time.

Without Albert’s encrypted communication device, Fatty had no news from outside in the underground. Thinking of Ann Lei every day, he worried in his heart, fearing that the Hunter Mecha Group might finally find a way to catch up with the troops or that the base couldn’t contact the Federation for unstoppable rescue...

[Logic] couldn’t be repaired in a short time, all worries instead spurred Fatty to work harder and diligently, making a silent vow that if anything happened to Ann Lei, he’d learn the manual, go out, and turn Gazalin upside down, even if it meant risking his life.

So, he continued to immerse in practice. Initially, he tied Bonnie twice a day, let her out, fed her a bit, but later on, laziness crept in, and [Logic] needed repairs. He also needed [Logic] for Mecha Martial Arts training. Tian Xingjian pondered if he might as well lock Bonnie in the vacant room of the battleship.

On this day, Tian Xingjian finished learning the tenth move in Tai Chi Boxing, experiencing the essence of using calmness to counteract movement, using slowness to counteract speed, and achieving beforehand by reacting later. He moved his hands in circles repeatedly, fists connecting continuously, feeling ecstatic and eagerly wanting to use [Logic] to practice ”use intention instead of force, Tai Chi turns around, never interrupt. When attaining the right opportunity and position, let the opponent’s foundation break on its own. Each move must be consistent and flowing like the Yangtze River, surging ceaselessly.”

Stepping out of the battleship and reaching the cave entrance, he saw Bonnie, still imprisoned between [Logic]’s legs, her face flushed, her jade teeth biting tightly.

Seeing Fatty come out, Bonnie angrily said, ”Fatty, let me out immediately!”

Fatty was surprised and said, ”Isn’t it not the time for letting out yet? Can’t we be a bit reasonable?”

Bonnie spat vehemently, shouting, ”Who wants to reason with you? Let me out now, I...” She was urgently needing to relieve herself, yet it wasn’t convenient in the confined space of her imprisonment. Being a girl, this embarrassing matter was hard for her to express.

Additionally, knowing Fatty’s shamelessness, never able to explain well, he now wanted to reason with her when she was desperate and angry, her charming face flushed red with tears brimming, almost ready to cry.

Fatty, being keenly perceptive, understood Bonnie’s predicament and laughed heartily. He jumped on [Logic], started it up, and released Bonnie, grumbling, ”I’m letting you out, really never seen someone so unreasonable as you. Is being urgent to pee that amazing?”

Bonnie walked to the low wall made of stones at the entrance of the cave. Listening to Fatty’s teasing, she felt both embarrassed and wronged. Thinking about the inevitability of some noise during her relief, which Fatty would surely hear and mock, she finally burst into sobs.

As her tears had just begun to fall, she saw [Logic] making some mechanical noises and then stepping heavily towards the depths of the cave. The ground trembled, and within seconds it was far away. Bonnie’s heart relaxed a bit. Fatty did have some humanity in him, she thought, and oddly, a sweet feeling arose in her heart.

She silently cursed herself, not understanding why she had such a strange mentality. She kept reminding herself of the deep and irreconcilable hatred she had towards Fatty. Unbeknownst to her, after Fatty had displayed abilities stronger than hers, and the moment they had jumped off the cliff, she had already begun to develop a dependency on him, influenced by a sort of Stockholm syndrome.

As Bonnie walked out from afar, Fatty said indifferently, ”I found an ancient warship inside the cave, with several rooms. I think it might be more convenient to lock you in there.”

Bonnie was slightly surprised. Fatty had kept her confined in the depths of the cave every day for the past few days. She had vaguely guessed there must be something hidden there, but she didn’t expect it to be an ancient warship. Thinking silently, she slowly walked up to Fatty, stood in silence for a moment, and finally said, ”We are not enemies!”

Fatty was stunned, not understanding why Bonnie suddenly said this. But then he heard Bonnie continue, ”I once swore allegiance to this country. This is my motherland. I have been fighting for it and have not broken my oath. My loyalty no longer belongs to the Morton Royal Family. It is this family that has brought Gazalin to its current state. Besides...” Bonnie brushed back her long hair by her ear and smiled slightly, ”Now, His Majesty James is probably already in your country. In this country, I can’t even find someone worth my loyalty. As a woman, my only wish now is to personally ask Reinhardt if everything is as Philip said. Why is he doing all this?”

Tian Xingjian looked at Bonnie silently, secretly sighing. So much time had passed that even if Bonnie went out now, she wouldn’t pose any threat to the fleeing Mixed Army. Moreover, as she herself said, in a way, she was indeed a victim.

He himself had no real conflict with this woman. Everything was merely a matter of them serving their respective masters. Their confrontation was just a microcosm of the struggle between their two factions. On the battlefield, it wasn’t always a matter of life and death.

”So...” Bonnie said softly, ”Don’t lock me up anymore, okay? I promise I won’t escape, nor will I do anything to harm you.”

The current Bonnie no longer had the demeanor of the proud female commander of the Mythical Army. She stood there gently, graceful and pitiful, her snow-white face full of pleading and compliance.

Bonnie’s sudden change made Fatty feel a bit odd, with a touch of something eerie mixed in. After a moment of silence, he thought, ”In this cave, in terms of combat, this woman is no match for me. The weapons and Mecha are in my control, and the warship is completely controlled by Little Pi. No matter how capable she is, she can’t turn the tables.”

After weighing the situation, not finding any opportunity Bonnie could exploit, and seeing her pitiful look, Fatty softened his heart and finally nodded, ”Alright, you handle the cooking, and once the Mecha is repaired, I’ll take you out. Then we’ll go our separate ways.”

For the first time in his life, Little Pi saw a real woman, far more beautiful and captivating than any woman in adult films. He was stunned, seeing her as a goddess.

Noticing Fatty showed no pity or tenderness, Little Pi admired him. If it were himself capturing a beautiful female robot, he would have already lost control. That Fatty could maintain his chastity was indeed rare. Little Pi further believed Fatty’s boasting about being experienced and untempted by ordinary beauties.

Days passed in the mountain without track of time. Fatty, while learning and training, also hastened to repair [Logic] and scheduled the transplantation for Little Pi. Usually, when tired from training, he’d chat with Bonnie, discussing the situation, tactics, or Mechanical Control. Bonnie, seldom gaining limited freedom, seemed to cherish it doubly, doing laundry and cooking daily, turning the rations in [Logic]’s food compartment into various tastes, doing quite well.

While Fatty was arduously training with the secret manuals and occasionally peeking at Bonnie bathing with Little Pi, the Leray Federation, Gazalin Empire, and the entire human society were already in turmoil!
