Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 246: Volume 4, Chapter 29, Betrayal (9)

On the other side of the fighting arena, a short, stocky man seized the opportunity. During the fight, he grabbed his opponent’s hair, and after his knee strike was blocked, he swiftly swung his leg upwards, hitting his opponent in the groin. The kick was brutal and venomous, causing his opponent to collapse with a scream. The short man showed no signs of mercy; in plain view of everyone, he grabbed the limp opponent’s head and twisted it with both hands, breaking his neck.

The gruesome scene in the fighting arena further fueled the nobles’ fervor. On the stands, they clapped in celebration or shouted angrily, creating a tumultuous roar. If the entire fighting arena hadn’t been reinforced with a full steel frame, with crucial parts thickened and strengthened using Superhard Alloy, it would have already collapsed from the immense vibrations.

Since there was only one match on Saturday, the prison had made careful arrangements. Many ”coaches” didn’t even know their fighters. Various prison factions with deep-seated grudges had gathered for this match. Besides the five deaths and six injuries caused by Gino’s faction on Tuesday, this fight was even more thrilling than all the matches from Wednesday to Friday combined.

Up to this point, five people were already lying down in the fighting area, and the prisoners who surrendered all had broken arms and legs. In the final battle, these two prisoners who each killed two others had no reason to show any mercy. Their clash would be as spectacular as a collision of planets.

The two prisoners fighting to the end were completely exhausted. According to the rules, they were allowed five minutes of rest before the final showdown. The guards in the central control room were about to activate the temporary rest signal light when the images on the monitor left them dumbfounded. At that moment, the previously boiling fighting arena suddenly fell silent,

The nobles looked at each other in shock, horror, confusion, and bewilderment. The scene before them left them unable to describe their feelings.

The Fatty who had been lying on the fighting arena from the beginning was actually standing up again! Wasn’t he clearly beaten to death? Moreover, at the time, his death was so gruesome that everyone saw the tattooed man knock him down and then kick him in the head repeatedly until he died!

Bloodstains still lingered at the corner of his mouth and a large puddle of vomited blood remained where he had lain. Being able to stand up after being beaten this badly—what kind of logic was this, how could anyone play like this, who designed this, what was left to believe in the world, what is justice, how do our bets count, who will compensate for the torn Fatty’s betting slips?

The most emotional were the two girls, Ann Lei and Susan. When they saw Fatty, whose body seemed already stiff, suddenly revive, their emotions were like riding a roller-coaster with a thousand-meter elevation difference. After a vertical drop, they were suddenly lifted skyward.

Seeing a dead man suddenly come back to life in front of their eyes, the irrevocable despair turning to joy—it was enough to drive anyone mad!

Susan hugged Ann Lei while crying and jumping, as if only by doing so could she express her current joy. The previous experience had completely immersed her emotions into those of Ann Lei and Zhang Yuan, feeling their sorrow and their joy. She even felt as though all of this was happening to her, watching her beloved rise from the dead in her own despair, the extreme change between sorrow and joy made her unable to control her emotions.

In the utterly silent fighting arena, the tattooed man couldn’t believe his eyes. Over an hour ago, he had personally beaten the stark white Fatty to death, but now, an hour later, this dead man was crawling up shakily in front of him.

The tattooed man quickly made a decision. From the look of Fatty, even though he could stand up, he had no strength left to fight back. He rapidly approached Fatty; he was going to kill this confused Fatty once more.

”It’s not my fault, you originally had a chance to be carried out alive. Who asked you to be stupid and stand up at this moment?” The tattooed man sneered as he charged at Fatty. With one punch, this Fatty would fall again!

The swiftly swung punch did not land on Fatty’s face as anticipated. In mid-air, a chubby hand tightly grasped his fist. Following that, the tattooed man felt as if his face had been hit hard by an iron shovel, and his tall body was knocked several meters away! He couldn’t even feel any pain, as the side of his face that had been hit quickly swelled and turned numb.

”Ugh,” the tattooed man involuntarily opened his mouth and spat out several teeth mixed with blood.

”Boom!” The fighting arena erupted like an explosion and then plunged into deathly silence.

No one dared to believe they were not dreaming, the nobles stared with their mouths open, wide-eyed, as if nailed in place.

Everyone clearly saw that the Fatty who had just seemed powerless to fight back, with a single slap, sent his opponent flying. That slap was terrifying; everyone in the arena felt as if their own face had been slapped hard.

The sound of the slap was so loud, so crisp, so shocking!

Shaking his dizzy head, the tattooed man got up. Fatty stood there quietly, showing no intention of pursuing his victory. The tattooed man stood up, glaring at him with a venomous look. The tattooed man wasn’t foolish; he sensed the danger from that slap. The left side of his face was already completely swollen and deformed, his hearing impaired, and he could even feel blood flowing from his ear.
