Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 203: Volume 4, Chapter 5: I Am Not Willing to Settle

The Mecha was first tested by a Mechanical Test Master. Whether it was running, jumping, or dodging, the single-arm suspension system showed good condition. High flexibility, good shock absorption, and great support for Mecha combat movements. The researchers in the core laboratory wore smug smiles, mocking Fatty. If there was a problem with this suspension system, then the cause could only be the stupid Fatty’s brain!

The Mecha was constantly running and dodging in the testing ground, performing various technical movements. The place fell silent, filled only with the sound of the Mecha running, and the atmosphere seemed to harden. The better the single-arm suspension performed, the more displeased the researchers became. Being questioned and then proving their correctness gave them enough leverage to express their discontent in front of Reinhardt and George.

Midway through the Mecha testing, Fatty shouted to stop. Under the angry stares of Adrian and others, he shook his head and let the Mecha Test Master come down. He said to Reinhardt, ”The previous test has already proven the concealment of this flaw. In regular training, the Mecha indeed won’t malfunction. However, this is the scariest part. Now, I need someone to fully unleash the Mecha’s performance, to suddenly stop and turn at over 230 kilometers per hour! Make at least three sudden stops and turns; the result will be evident!”

With these words, the entire core research team was enraged. This Fatty was simply unbearable! Not only was the Mecha’s test result completely negated, but he also turned the tables, making the excellent performance of the single-arm suspension seem like a crime! Their faces turned pale with anger, teeth gritted, waiting to settle accounts with Fatty once the final result came out! Christina, who came with Fatty, was very worried. The people present were experts and acknowledged elites, enjoying wide connections and prestige in the Gazalin Technology Industry. If the facts did not align with what Fatty said, he would face the collective backlash of Gazalin’s tech community.

Reinhardt thought briefly and then prepared to have a platoon leader from the Mythical Army conduct the test. Bonnie, who was standing beside him, suddenly said, ”I’ll do it!” She raised her eyebrows, tied her wavy long hair into a bun with a hairpin, and coldly told Fatty, ”You better guarantee that everything you said is true; otherwise, the fourth sudden stop and turn will be done stepping on your body!”

Fatty looked at Bonnie foolishly, his eyes clear and full of deep affection. Bonnie was so angry that she snorted, turned, and entered the Mecha. What Bonnie could not understand was, this Fatty had already successfully dated Ann Lei at the ball, so why did he still act like an innocent boy when he saw her, with those watery eyes full of affection that gave people goosebumps all over? How could such a silly Fatty dare to woo one after another?

Bonnie started the Mecha, and with a few ”chug” sounds, the Mecha’s body extended under the support of the hydraulic system. The increasing roar of the engine became sharper and more piercing. Everyone held their breaths; they knew that once Bonnie issued the control commands, the engine would send the Mecha into high-speed operation in an instant.

The Mecha moved, and everyone felt a blur before their eyes. This modified heavy Military Mecha swept out in a magnificent posture. The sudden transition from a stationary state to full-speed motion shocked everyone! This was not an ordinary Private Mecha performance but the operation of a long-range heavy Military Mecha weighing around seventy tons! There was only one word to describe such a level of control: perfect!

Fatty thought inwardly, ”This woman has some skill! No wonder she can be a company commander in the Mythical Army without any objections.” Outsiders enjoy the spectacle, insiders appreciate the nuances, and he naturally knew how difficult it was for this temporarily modified long-range attack-type heavy Military Mecha to perform such challenging movements!

The heavy steps of the Mecha continuously shook the ground, and the overwhelming momentum during high-speed operation made it hard to breathe! Compared to a Space Battleship, seventy tons of Mecha is insignificant. In heavy Mechas, it’s not much either; even Vajra is a few tons heavier than this Mecha. Fatty and the Mythical Army warriors were observing Bonnie’s control, but in the testing ground, in front of the unarmed researchers, the speed of the Mecha was an absolute shock! The researchers who had never been on a battlefield stared at the Mecha, suddenly worried. This heavy Mecha required such high speed for close combat on the battlefield?!

The worry quickly became reality. The Mecha, reaching speeds of 230 kilometers per hour, performed an action that seemed inconceivable to these researchers: a sudden stop and change of direction. While moving forward at high speed, the Mecha seemed to crash into an invisible wall. One mechanical leg braced strongly on the ground, concentrating all its weight and inertial force on this leg. Amidst the dust, the Mecha abruptly turned, swinging back like a pendulum reaching the end of its arc.
