Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

”Uncle, are you serious?”

”I, Quentin Blackwood, never joke. Besides, didn’t you call all these people here as witnesses? Do you think I’m the type to go back on my word?”

Every word from Quentin Blackwood hammered at Silas Blackwood’s heart.

’All those shares in DG... Is Uncle really willing to give them all to me?’

’Is it because he slept with my fiancée and can’t face me, so he’s using this as compensation?’

Thinking this, Silas Blackwood was certain that was the case.

’So many reporters saw what happened. Quentin Blackwood must be terrified of losing face, so he’s trying to buy my silence.’

’If Quentin Blackwood really gives me DG, then him sleeping with Ivy Sherwood for a night isn’t such a big deal.’

”Fine. I accept the bet.”

”I trust everyone here heard that.” Quentin Blackwood’s gaze once again swept over the crowd.

The others nodded. Then, Quentin Blackwood spoke. ”Let’s get this straight, just so you don’t try to weasel out of it when you lose. I don’t have time to argue with you later, so this bet is only valid right now, with everyone here as a witness.”

Silas Blackwood’s lips moved. ”Fine.”

Quentin Blackwood’s hand slid from Ivy Sherwood’s wrist to her waist, pulling her out from behind him.

At that moment, Ivy Sherwood lifted her head, her face coming into full view.

She had just washed her face and wore no makeup, yet her stunning beauty instantly captivated everyone.

Her skin was translucent, like the finest white jade, without a single flaw. Her eyes were clear and lovely, with a slight, upward tilt at the corners. The contrast between her dark pupils and the whites of her eyes was striking. Her lips were naturally crimson and glistened with a hint of moisture. She looked like a fox, both bewitching and winsomely naive.

It was a face so beautiful one couldn’t look away. The slip dress and high heels she wore seemed tailor-made for her. Though her beauty was of an innocent sort, she projected a commanding aura. Standing beside Quentin Blackwood, she showed no trace of fear. These two seemingly contradictory qualities blended in her with an extraordinary harmony.

Ivy Sherwood had just been livestreaming the day before; everyone knew what she looked like. She wasn’t ugly, but she was certainly plain.

Her skin was quite dark, and her face was covered in freckles. She was the type of person who would disappear in a crowd.

The Ivy Sherwood they knew had no such aura and didn’t seem this tall. She was just an ordinary girl, as plain as they come.

The woman beside Quentin Blackwood, however, was an absolutely peerless beauty. A face like that could have outshone all the legendary beauties of ancient times.

Everyone else was so mesmerized by her beauty they forgot to blink.

People had often wondered what kind of woman could possibly stand beside a man with an aura as powerful as Quentin Blackwood’s—someone who could be his equal, not overwhelmed by his presence. Now, seeing these two together, they looked like a match made in heaven.

As for Silas Blackwood, he simply stared, his eyes wide. He completely forgot about his bet with Quentin Blackwood, captivated by Ivy Sherwood’s beauty.

’How... How could it be her?’

’Isn’t that the young model? The one I’ve been sending flowers to?’

Ivy Sherwood leaned gracefully against Quentin Blackwood’s side. She remembered his instruction not to talk, so she didn’t say a single word.

Quentin Blackwood’s gaze was cold. ”I told you. She isn’t Ivy Sherwood.”

”So it really isn’t Ivy Sherwood,” the reporters murmured.

”Impossible!” Silas Blackwood still couldn’t believe it. ”How could it not be Ivy Sherwood? I’m going inside to look.”

Silas Blackwood went inside and searched, but he found nothing. There was no other woman hiding in the room.

”You...” A thought seemed to strike Silas Blackwood. He looked at the woman in horror, his face a mask of disbelief. ”Don’t tell me... you’re Ivy Sherwood?”

’This woman had all but vanished,’ Silas Blackwood thought. ’I turned Lustre upside down trying to find her. And I remember... she was at the Blackwood Family banquet too.’

’Could it be that Ivy Sherwood can change her face? That she suddenly turned into a beauty?’

The absurdity of the thought scared even Silas Blackwood himself.

Ivy Sherwood’s lips curled into a faint smile, a sight that seemed to momentarily stun the people around her, leaving them captivated.

”Ivy Sherwood? Is she as beautiful as I am? Does she have a figure this good? Is she as tall as me?” Ivy Sherwood deliberately pitched her voice higher, making it sound different from her usual tone.

Now that she mentioned it, Silas Blackwood realized this woman did seem taller and had a better figure.

The light in Silas Blackwood’s eyes dimmed, and Ivy Sherwood finally breathed a sigh of relief.

’Thank goodness I usually wear loose-fitting clothes,’ she thought, ’unlike this little dress, which cinches my waist.’

’And I usually wear flats. These heels are very high, and standing next to Quentin Blackwood, of course I look taller.’

Just then, Quentin Blackwood spoke coldly, ”I told you, she isn’t Ivy Sherwood.”

Silas still refused to believe it. ”This... How is this possible...”

’The tip I got was clear,’ he thought frantically. ’Ivy Sherwood was getting a room with another man, and I was supposed to come catch her in the act.’

’So how did it turn into my uncle getting a room with some other woman?’

Silas Blackwood grew desperate. ”I’ll have someone pull the security footage!”

’The footage will definitely show something. It’ll prove whether it was Ivy Sherwood who came in last night.’

’I have to prove it was her! Otherwise, am I supposed to just hand over all my shares in the Blackwood Group?!’

However, the result came back quickly: the security footage had been deleted.

Silas Blackwood thought he’d found some leverage. ”You had the footage deleted, didn’t you? If it wasn’t Ivy Sherwood, why delete it?”

Quentin Blackwood’s lips curled as he looked at Silas Blackwood like he was an idiot. ”I’m not like you. When I, Quentin Blackwood, get a hotel room, I never leave any evidence behind.”

The reporters covered their mouths. ’So that’s how it is,’ they thought. ’No wonder no one’s ever gotten a picture of Quentin Blackwood with a woman. It’s not that President Blackwood is abstinent—it’s that he has all the records of his hotel stays erased.’

Ivy Sherwood was speechless.

’Uncle really goes all out,’ she thought. ’He’d even say something that damages his own reputation.’

Ivy Sherwood had no idea when the security footage had been deleted.

Still unwilling to give up, Silas Blackwood then checked the hotel registration records, but Ivy Sherwood’s name wasn’t on them.

The room had been registered under the name of that punk from yesterday.

At this point, Quentin Blackwood finally spoke. ”Why go to all this trouble? If you want to prove it’s not Ivy Sherwood, why don’t you just call her?”

Silas was self-aware enough to admit, ”She won’t answer my calls.”

Quentin Blackwood handed over his phone. ”Use mine.”

Silas Blackwood took Quentin Blackwood’s phone and dialed Ivy Sherwood’s number. His eyes were fixed on the woman in front of him, trying to spot any movement.

But when the call connected, Silas Blackwood’s eyes widened in utter shock.

”Put it on speaker,” Quentin Blackwood said.

Completely under Quentin Blackwood’s control, Silas turned on the speaker. A woman’s voice came through the phone. ”Hello, Uncle?”

It was, without a doubt, Ivy Sherwood’s voice.
