Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

”Ivy Sherwood, it’s my birthday today. Silas had too much to drink with me. He’s in room 1314 at The Voss Hotel. I left the room key in the fire hydrant box. You’re his fiancée, so you should be the one to take care of him. It wouldn’t be appropriate for me to do it.”

There was no reply from Ivy Sherwood. A smirk touched Anna Nash’s lips. Then, unhurriedly, she took off her clothes and lay down naked beside Silas Blackwood, even draping one of her legs over his body.

Then, Anna Nash sent a message to the media.

Late that night, the hotel room door was thrown open, followed by a barrage of camera flashes.

The blanket had mostly slipped onto the floor, with only a small portion covering Silas Blackwood’s legs.

The two of them were stark naked, their bodies captured clearly by the cameras.

”Look, it’s Young Master Blackwood! The tip from Miss Sherwood was right. Young Master Blackwood is cheating on his fiancée and getting a room with another woman.”

”Young Master Blackwood, you’re getting married next month. Would you consider this cheating?”

”Young Master Blackwood, what is your relationship with this woman? Have you been sleeping together for a long time?”

All Silas Blackwood could register was a deafening noise. He had drunk too much, and the voices were a blur. When he finally forced his eyes open, he saw a crowd of people pointing cameras at him.

”AH!” The shock was enough to sober Silas Blackwood up. ”Who are you people? How did you get in? What do you want!”

Silas Blackwood’s sudden movements were so jarring that Anna Nash pretended to have just woken up. Seeing the scene, she quickly hid herself under the blanket.

”Miss Sherwood was the one who told us,” the reporters said. ”She said you got a room here and even told us the key card was in the fire hydrant box.”

”Miss Sherwood? Ivy Sherwood?” Silas Blackwood clenched his fists.

The reporters shook their heads. ”We don’t know. She only said her last name was Sherwood.”

”Young Master Blackwood, will this affect your wedding with Miss Sherwood?”

”Young Master Blackwood, is this the first time you’ve cheated? If you get married, will you continue to act like this?”

Just then, the hiding Anna Nash poked her head out. ”It’s not like that! Please don’t blame Silas.”

The cameras swiveled to Anna Nash’s face. ”Who are you? Did you know Young Master Blackwood has a fiancée? Are you the other woman?”

”I’m not the other woman! I’m not!” Anna Nash tried to explain. ”Silas and I are the ones who are truly in love! We’re the real couple.”

Facing the media, she appeared especially helpless and fragile.

”What does that mean? Are you saying Miss Sherwood is actually the other woman?”

”I remember we’ve gotten photos of you and this lady before. Are you two together by mutual consent? Did Miss Sherwood come between you?”

Sensing a huge scoop, the reporters weren’t about to give up.

”Enough!” Silas Blackwood’s face was livid with impatience.

He grabbed the nearest object and hurled it at the reporters. ”Get out!”

His expression was thunderous. Anyone would look the same after being photographed by the media in such a state.

The reporters, of course, wouldn’t let an opportunity like this go, bombarding him with all sorts of pointed questions.

”Which media outlets are you from? Be careful, or I’ll have your companies shut down!”

Seeing that Silas Blackwood was truly enraged, the reporters finally grabbed their cameras and scurried away.

After all, in Lustre, the Blackwood Family was arguably the most powerful and influential of all.

They couldn’t afford to offend Silas Blackwood.

”Silas, what was all that? How did this happen?” Anna Nash asked, a terrified expression on her face.

”Was it really Ivy Sherwood? Why does she keep doing things like this, again and again? Is she trying to use the court of public opinion to ruin us?”

Despite his anger, for the first time, Silas Blackwood actually used his head. ’How could it be Ivy Sherwood? She didn’t know we were here, and she didn’t have a room key. Anna Nash, what exactly happened here?’

When Anna Nash heard Silas Blackwood use her full name, her hand tightened on the bedsheet. He usually just called her Anna.

And now, he was even defending Ivy Sherwood.

Anna Nash said, ”You were drunk, so I brought you here. I figured that since Ivy Sherwood is your fiancée, I should let her be the one to take care of you. I sent her a message with the hotel and room number, and I told her I left the key card in the fire hydrant box.”

”But I waited for a long time, and she never showed up. You were too drunk to be left alone. Silas, you don’t suspect me, do you?” She widened her eyes, feigning innocence.

”Wasn’t it you who took my clothes off? Why would you undress me for no reason?” Silas Blackwood stared into Anna Nash’s eyes, trying to read her expression.

Anna Nash had already prepared her excuse. ”You threw up later. It was all over your shirt and pants, and it got all over me, too. So I had no choice but to take your clothes off.”

”Silas, are you really suspecting me? I was photographed, too! Those people called me the other woman! Why would I do something that hurts me just as much as it hurts you?” As she spoke, tears began to stream down Anna Nash’s face.

Silas Blackwood was already furious about what had happened, and Anna Nash’s crying only made him more irritated.

”Stop crying!” Silas Blackwood roared.

He stood up abruptly. ”I’m going to find Ivy Sherwood and get to the bottom of this!”

”But what about all the reporters outside? They’re definitely still waiting out there.”

”I’ll call someone to handle it. I refuse to believe I can’t even deal with a few reporters!” Silas Blackwood immediately called his secretary.

...

Ivy Sherwood was woken up by a call from Nina Scott.

”Hello, Nina?” Ivy Sherwood was so sleepy her voice was groggy.

”Ivy, you have to check the trending topics! Anna Nash and Silas Blackwood were caught in a hotel room by the media, and they got close-ups right by the bed!”

”What?”

”And the media is claiming you were the one who leaked their room number and key card! The internet is in an uproar. And that shameless Anna Nash even said she and Silas Blackwood are the ones truly in love, so the media is writing that you’re the real homewrecker.”

To get clicks, the media ran with headlines like: ”Woman Interferes in Relationship to Marry into Wealthy Family, Forcing Out Original Partner to Seize Her Place.”

Feuds among the rich and powerful were already a spectacle many loved to watch. Add in a story that defied morals and ethics, and the number of onlookers grew even larger.

But Ivy Sherwood hadn’t done this; she knew nothing about it at all.

She hadn’t even seen the message from Anna Nash; it was still unread.

Just then, someone started pounding violently on Ivy Sherwood’s front door. BANG! BANG! BANG!

Silas Blackwood’s furious voice came from outside. ”Ivy Sherwood, get the hell out here!”

Silas Blackwood was banging on the door with such force that the neighbors upstairs and downstairs could probably hear it.

Anna Nash was still trying to hold Silas Blackwood back. ”Silas, please don’t be so angry. Don’t be so harsh with Ivy, you’ll scare her.”

”Even if she did do it, I can understand. I’ll forgive her. She must have done it because she’s angry with me. Or better yet, just blame me. I shouldn’t have asked you to come over for my birthday. It was greedy of me to want you to celebrate with me. And I shouldn’t have taken it upon myself to look after you.”
