The Strongest Urban Son-in-law

Chapter 35: Chapter 33: You’re the One I’m Beating

Ye Feng nodded, looking at Zheng Yonggang, ”Not bad, pretty early...”

Ye Feng had expected Zheng Yonggang to seek out Lin Shiyu just today, guessing that he wouldn’t be able to join the company until at least ten o’clock. However, Zheng Yonggang had already joined the company.

Zheng Yonggang explained, ”With Mr. Ye’s consent, I was too excited. I went to see Miss Lin yesterday, and she agreed as well. But she insisted that she wouldn’t just let me be an ordinary security guard and so assigned me to work alongside Zhao Ziming as a security supervisor.”

Zhao Ziming said, ”Today really is a good day, huh? The company has welcomed two big shots!”

”Oh?” Ye Feng revealed a hint of curiosity.

”Feng, you don’t know. Apart from Zheng, there’s a new HR Director who’s joined the company. They say he’s coming to inspect our Security Department soon!” Zhao Ziming explained.

If anyone else called Zheng Yonggang ’Zheng’, he would naturally be displeased.

But Zhao Ziming was one of the few friends Ye Feng had. A friend of Ye Feng’s was naturally a friend of Zheng Yonggang’s, so he didn’t mind and instead felt a sense of warmth.

”Right!” Zhao Ziming looked at Ye Feng, ”Feng, do you still remember the layered pancakes that we loved to eat back in our school days? You haven’t had breakfast yet, right? I bought you a portion and left it in the office. Why don’t you go and have it?”

”Oh?” Interest immediately flashed in Ye Feng’s eyes.

In truth, Ye Feng didn’t have many hobbies, but his interest in food was stronger than in anything else. Remembering the layered pancakes that he and Zhao Ziming used to buy every morning, he felt a deep nostalgia and went to the office to get them.

”Click~~~”

Just as Ye Feng left, the door was pushed open.

Wu Kexin, the receptionist, walked in with a young man in a blue suit and a slick-back haircut.

The young man, around twenty-six or twenty-seven, stood before the trio of Ye Feng, looking down on them from his height.

Wu Kexin hastily introduced, ”Chief Zhao, Supervisor Zheng, Brother Ye Feng, this is our company’s new HR Director. He has come for an inspection.”

After saying this, Wu Kexin returned to her work at the reception desk.

”Liu Bing!” Yet, at that moment, Zhao Ziming shouted out in shock, utterly astonished.

Upon seeing Zhao Ziming, Liu Bing’s mouth curved slightly upwards in disdain, ”Oh my, isn’t this my old love rival, Zhao Ziming? What a coincidence. It’s funny how this world works, isn’t it? Back in school, you were a basketball club member, and I was the club president. We fell for the same girl.

And after she was with you for a week, she came to me. Now, here we are: you’re a low-level manager and I’m a director. It’s just so incredible. I overshadowed you in school, took the girl you liked and now I’m still one step ahead. Doesn’t it just irk you?”

Hearing Liu Bing’s words, Zhao Ziming’s eyes filled with anger, and he clenched his fists tightly, glaring fiercely at Liu Bing.

”Damn!”

With a roar of fury, Liu Bing’s voice boomed, filled with scorn, ”What is that look? I’m your superior. Is that the respect you should show to your superior? Do you want to quit that much? If you want to quit, get the hell out now. No one will stop you!”

Zhao Ziming felt an overwhelming sense of frustration. His entire family depended on this job for their livelihood, and Liu Bing had the complete authority to dismiss Zhao Ziming. Zhao Ziming had no choice but to endure.

Zhao Ziming bit his lip, his eyes showing a glimpse of rage, yet he still managed to hold back, stuttering, ”So... sorry... I apologize...”

Liu Bing finally nodded in satisfaction. ”That’s more like it. As my subordinate, you should toe the line and keep your tail between your legs. You’re happy to work? Work. Not happy? Get the hell out of here anytime!”

Zhao Ziming’s face was iron blue, his expression extremely ugly as he forcibly endured it.

Zheng Yonggang couldn’t stand watching it any longer, yet when he thought about his first day at the Lin Family company, he realized he already knew about Lin Shiyu and Ye Feng’s relationship. Zheng Yonggang had learned about Ye Feng and Lin Shiyu’s connection that day at the casino.

On one side was Lin Shiyu’s company, on the other, a friend of Feng’s, so Zheng Yonggang decided it was best to wait for Ye Feng to appear.

Just then, Ye Feng walked out of the office and saw Zhao Ziming’s terribly ugly face, so he asked with a frown, ”What’s wrong?”

Zhao Ziming clenched his teeth and shook his head, indicating nothing was wrong.

Liu Bing, with hands behind his back, wandered around the security department. At that moment, he cast a glance at the half-eaten mille-feuille left on the table.

”What is this?” Liu Bing asked with a darkened face.

”It’s my breakfast, I haven’t finished it yet,” Zhao Ziming explained.

”Idiot!” Liu Bing cursed outright. ”Why didn’t you finish your breakfast before coming to work? Why bring it to the company?”

Zhao Ziming replied through his seething anger, ”I’ve brought it before, and Mr. Lin never said we couldn’t bring food into the company.”

”Slap!” As soon as Zhao Ziming finished speaking, Liu Bing delivered a harsh slap across Zhao Ziming’s face.

Instantly, a clear slap mark appeared on Zhao Ziming’s face, leaving him completely stunned, his eyes reddening.

Liu Bing raged, ”What the fuck do you think you are, talking back to me? Now Mr. Lin has put you under my charge, what I say goes. If you dare to talk back to me today, I’ll make you...”

”Slap!” But before Liu Bing could finish speaking, Ye Feng delivered a resounding slap of his own.

The heavy slap distorted Liu Bing’s facial features, as if they were kneaded into a ball, sending his whole body off the ground, flying backward and crashing heavily into the wall.

”Wow~~” Liu Bing tumbled to the ground. He then spit out a mouthful of fresh blood along with a few loose teeth.

Ye Feng said calmly, ”Zhao Ziming, people like him should be taught a lesson. Why put up with it?”

”Ye Feng!” Zhao Ziming looked at Ye Feng, moved. It wasn’t the first time Ye Feng had stood up for him.

But Liu Bing was furious, his words slurred as he shouted garbled, ”Fuck, you bastard, how dare you hit me!

”It is you I’m hitting!”

As soon as the words left Liu Bing’s mouth, Zheng Yonggang roared with anger. He had been holding back his desire to act.

Now that Ye Feng had made a move, there was nothing left to hold back.

”Bang!” With one punch, Zheng Yonggang directly smashed it into Liu Bing’s face.

”Ah~~” Liu Bing let out a pained howl, blood gushing from his nose as his nasal bridge was shattered with a single punch from Zheng Yonggang.
