Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 198: Chapter 187: Tough and Cunning Lin Chu

Yang Huixian was only told about Lin Chu’s social media post when her dad, Yang Guangrong, called her.

She was engrossed in an order for a piece of jadeite jewelry and had been working with intense focus for more than four hours.

”Ah Xian, have you seen it?”

”Xiaolin took over that golf club in Xili. He even posted it on social media.”

”This must be why Xiaolin was borrowing money everywhere a few days ago. Your Uncle Nine called and told me. The whole thing caused quite a stir in Peng City today. You didn’t know?”

Yang Guangrong was quite surprised himself and was probing his daughter for information.

Thinking back to the money-borrowing incident a few days ago, a faint sense of foreboding had already started to grow in his heart.

A father knows his daughter best.

He knew his daughter’s personality like the back of his hand. She was rational, clear-headed, and a strong career woman. In her mind, a man definitely ranked lower than money.

And there was nothing wrong with that.

After all, she didn’t need a man to support her.

It’s just...

This current situation was still pretty awkward.

They were a couple, yet something this major had happened to her boyfriend, and she had no idea?

But then again, you get what you give.

A couple of days ago, when she mentioned Lin Chu borrowing money, she had specifically instructed that while she could waive the interest, the principal had to be guaranteed and a contract had to be signed.

Yang Guangrong himself was a fairly traditional man.

He could understand his daughter.

But he could also understand Lin Chu now.

A man like Xiaolin wanted a woman who would worship and trust him completely, unconditionally, and absolutely.

He had been the same way when he was young.

After listening to her father, Yang Huixian quickly scrolled through Lin Chu’s social media feed and took a deep breath.

She understood.

She understood everything.

’Lin Chu really hadn’t told me.’

’I hadn’t heard a single whisper about it.’

’He hadn’t even been back to stay at Swan Castle recently.’

”Okay, Dad, I get it. I still have work to do, so I’ll talk to you later.”

”He did mention it to me, actually, but I was just too busy to get involved.”

”With this kind of thing, you can never be sure until the dust settles. We’re fine, so don’t worry,”

she said, her voice calm and tinged with a smile.

After hanging up, she glanced at Lin Chu’s post again, then tossed her phone onto the sofa and couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh.

Her desire to work was gone.

She knew that for any couple, the brief honeymoon phase was inevitably followed by an adjustment period filled with conflict and arguments.

It was a power struggle between two people.

Her choice had been to cede power in the domestic sphere in exchange for autonomy in her career and financial independence. Of course, it would be even better if the man could help with her career.

It’s just...

Now...

Yang Huixian couldn’t help but think of that night, the first time they drank together at that little tavern in Overseas Chinese Town.

Lin Chu’s character had been on full display.

He was too headstrong.

As hard and unyielding as a stone in an outhouse.

’Now... how am I supposed to act? How can I face him?’

Yang Huixian ran a hand through her hair, suddenly plunging back into intense internal turmoil.

...

The same thing was happening with Liao Meili.

Lin Chu hadn’t notified her about the acquisition either.

In this matter, Lin Chu had treated all his women equally—he hadn’t told any of them. ’What would be the point?’

’They couldn’t help in any way.’

Liao Meili only saw it when she was slacking off at work and scrolling through her social media feed. The moment she did, she was completely stunned.

’Something this big?’

’What was going on?’

She had thought Lin Chu was just messing around, but a quick search on short-video sites revealed people were already talking about it. At the same time, the official business registration website showed that the change of ownership was already complete.

Lin Chu.

He had really bought a golf club!

She knew of the golf club in Xili; it was quite high-end. Parts of its food and beverage and guest room operations were outsourced, with a public tender held once a year to find a suitable hotel partner.

Wanhao had won the contract once, four years ago, but she hadn’t been working there at the time.

Last year, it was the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts Group.

For the hotel industry, a client like this was top-tier, largely because of the club’s prestigious reputation.

”Baby, congratulations! I know I wasn’t any help, but I’m so, so happy for you. I’m going to show my dad to rub it in his face.”

She carefully chose her words and sent Lin Chu a message.

A moment later, she received his reply: ”No need for that. Keep a low profile. I’m with a client right now, I’ll talk to you later.”

Liao Meili: ”Okay, you focus on your work then. Kisses.”

...

Back at the reception, Lin Chu was indeed very busy.

Fortunately, no one was pressuring him to drink, so his mind was still clear. However, after greeting and chatting with so many different people, his throat felt raw.

He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

’Shit!’

’Didn’t I want to be social?’

’Well, this is about as social as it gets.’

He had made his rounds and added dozens of new contacts on WeChat, so many that he triggered the app’s ”excessive friend requests” security alert.

At the moment, Lin Chu was chatting with his industry peers.

Even though people in the same business are often rivals, certain formalities had to be observed at an event like this. Naturally, Lin Chu had sent invitations to Mission Hills and the other clubs in Peng City.

They had all observed standard business etiquette and most had shown up, though the seniority of the representatives varied.

The representative from Mission Hills was Zhu Yizhen, Zhu Yixian’s older brother.

There were also people from the Sha River golf course, the Xiangmi Lake course, Yunhai Valley...

Lin Chu was seated and had already been chatting with them for a little while.
