Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 155: Chapter 154: Restless Ambition

In the days that followed, Lin Chu suddenly felt his life was starting to get a little more exciting.

Objectively speaking, a portion of his personal freedom had been squeezed.

Yang Huixian and Liao Meili were both what you would call truly rich and beautiful heiresses. One was a local powerhouse, the other an international player. Sleeping with them for free came with risks, and besides, he didn’t want to break things off—whether for emotional, carnal, or financial reasons.

Fortunately, with Yang Huixian, he held an extremely dominant position, one that was only growing stronger.

With Liao Meili, on the other hand, he was carefully cultivating the image of a ”workaholic” whose time was precious. ’Don’t bother me unless it’s important.’

At the same time, both women had their own jobs and careers.

Lin Chu made a few simple adjustments to his routine.

At night, he would sometimes sleep in the presidential suite at the Wanhao and other times at Swan Castle. It wasn’t fixed; there was no pattern. Sometimes, he would even sleep elsewhere, like at Liang Jieyu’s place. He was unpredictable, spreading his attention evenly.

In the mornings, whenever he had time to work out at the Wanhao gym, he would call Liao Meili over to join him. They would be affectionate for a little while and have breakfast together.

His mornings were free.

His afternoons were free.

He would occasionally have a meal with one of them, staggering the times.

In this way, his life paradoxically became much more orderly.

...

Gu Jiayan and the brokerage firm in Xiangjiang had already reached an agreement. They were now going through the procedures and negotiating with the local authorities, mainly hashing out the price and the initial investment amount for development.

Normally, when selling a small island like this, the local government would require guarantees in the contract regarding the investment amount and the extent of development.

For instance, hard requirements like getting running water within a year, electricity within two years, and establishing basic tourist travel routes within three years.

Of course, none of this was an issue. It was merely a matter of money.

And all this money was eligible for rebates.

The contract should be finalized soon.

’I don’t need to go to Daber Island again myself. Now’s not the time; there’s nothing on the island yet.’

However...

There were other places, such as Yang City and Xiangjiang.

They were all within the same bay area circle, just over an hour’s drive away. You could take a nap in the car and be there.

A normal business expansion would proceed this way. It was very reasonable.

Tsk.

’This reason for my restless ambition is a little absurd, but it doesn’t matter.’

’The more choices I have, the more freedom I have.’

Lin Chu was unwilling to have his freedom restricted, nor was he willing to give up the two heiresses, so naturally, he had to find a way to have it all.

Lin Chu felt his thinking was becoming more and more meticulous. Although there were more and more things to consider, he felt increasingly in his element, like a fish back in water.

...

And so, Lin Chu took the initiative to find Hou Chengjin and discuss the matter of micro-dramas.

This was the best entry point Lin Chu had chosen for his business expansion.

Hou Chengjin was a bit surprised that Lin Chu had approached him, but it was exactly what he had been hoping for.

Micro-dramas were the centerpiece of his company’s current transition. If Lin Chu didn’t invest, he was already in talks with other investors, but that would take time.

He really couldn’t get his hands on the secret ”Buddha Jumps Over the Wall” recipe.

The old man’s stubbornness was impossible to change.

It was even harder than securing an investor.

He felt quite helpless about it.

「In Lin Chu’s office.」

Hou Chengjin, still dressed head to toe in a trendy white brand, sat across from him.

This time, he brought six micro-drama scripts with him. They were all based on popular online genres, and the scripts had been written for some time.

Since Lin Chu wanted to discuss the matter, he had naturally come fully prepared.

Lin Chu glanced through them casually, treating it as a bit of fun.

Rebirth: *Rebirth: The Grand Era of 1992*.

Apocalypse: *My Apocalyptic Zombie Girlfriend Army*.

Romance: *After a Whirlwind Marriage, I Discovered My Husband is a Golden Core True Master*.

Precocious Child: *My Dad is an Almighty Hero*.

Angst: *My Lady, She Seems to Be My Sister*.

Suspense: *After My Wife Disappeared in Southeast Asia*.

He had to admit, just looking at the titles made him a little curious. They were all mainstream genres with strong dramatic conflict.

Hou Chengjin’s strategy was to cast a wide net and cultivate the most promising ones. He’d produce one for each genre, then, based on traffic performance, quickly replicate the successful formulas.

”Alright, I think this is worth investing in.”

”However, it seems like Peng City doesn’t have any large film studios. Why don’t we set up in Yang City? The costs would be lower for everything.”

Lin Chu said in a steady voice, exuding an air of certainty.

Hearing this, Hou Chengjin was slightly taken aback.

This wasn’t an unreasonable demand; in fact, it was quite logical.

He had looked into it. Land in Peng City was worth its weight in gold. The film studios there were mostly indoor sets, and their prices were well above the national average.

”I was actually thinking of setting up in Hang City, since there are more resources over there—it’s the capital of internet celebrities. But of course, Yang City works too. It’s close, after all,”

he said with a smile, basically agreeing.

”Let’s film in Yang City first. When it does well and we’re making money, we can expand to Hang City. I looked it up. The more established places in Yang City are Nanhai Film and Television City and 1978 Film Town. Let’s go with the latter; it has more varied filming locations. The former is owned by a central state media company and focuses mainly on palace architecture,”

Lin Chu said casually.

’We can talk about Hang City later. Two locations are enough for now.’

Hou Chengjin gave him another look, slightly shocked. He hadn’t expected Lin Chu to have already considered all of this. It was clear he had done a lot of preliminary work.

”Alright, I have no objections.”

Anyway, setting up a new company and finding a new office location wasn’t a huge expense, and it would all be covered by Lin Chu’s incoming investment.

”Then it’s settled.”

”We’ll go over there tomorrow to scout it out,”

Lin Chu said, making the final decision.

Hou Chengjin naturally had no issue with that and let out a sigh of relief.

’Showing my face here often really paid off.’

Although he still hadn’t figured out Lin Chu’s new live-streaming model, the investment in micro-dramas was a done deal.

There hadn’t been any warning at all.

’I really don’t know what Lin Chu is thinking. He’s so mysterious, impossible to figure out.’

...

After finishing his chat with Hou Chengjin, Lin Chu called He Meng into his office.

”For the business segment you’re in charge of, I plan to lock in three locations for the initial phase. One, Peng City. Two, Yang City. Three, Xiangjiang. Peng City and Yang City will be responsible for content creation, while Xiangjiang will mainly be for entertainment and offline gatherings. You know the reason why.”

The moment He Meng heard this, she understood immediately. Oh, she understood perfectly.

’This is great!’

”Okay, but I’m not very familiar with Yang City and Xiangjiang. I’ll need to learn more about them to see how we should build things up.”

Lin Chu smiled. ”Find Old Liu. He’s familiar with them.”

He had already told him about the private board meeting matter two days ago when he picked them up from the airport after their return from Bohe Island. Old Liu had been extremely interested.

He Meng would be in charge of online matters, and he would handle offline. Each would have their own duties.

”Okay, I have no problem with that.”

...

After settling these two matters, Lin Chu thought for a moment, then gave Gao Haitao a call.

”Old Gao, bring two more reliable guys over. And go buy two more cars. We’re running short on drivers. They have to be absolutely trustworthy.”

Having more resources on hand made everything easier. These two drivers weren’t for his own use, but were intended for Yang Huixian and Liao Meili.

Controlling their schedules would provide an extra layer of security and prevent any ”collisions.”

It would also make him seem thoughtful.

’I’m a damn genius.’

Gao Haitao replied, ”Yes, President Lin. How about the two team leaders we took to Bohe Island last time? They were the ones carrying guns. Absolutely reliable.”

Lin Chu: ”Perfect.”

For now, everything was under control.

And Lin Chu currently believed that a man’s core ability was precisely that: control.

Control over his own mentality and emotions, control over his own body, control over his career, and control over all the various people around him.
