Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 99: Chapter 98: The Feeling of Conquest

”Ahem...”

Hearing Lin Chu tease Lu Ming, Fang Weidong started coughing from laughing so hard. ’Big Brother is hilarious.’

He wasn’t exactly a free-spirited person. This was mainly because he grew up poor, and his father was a tyrant, which directly led to him developing more of an introverted, homebody personality.

Even though he later became rich overnight from demolition compensation, his personality had already pretty much set.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have lost three houses in a failed marriage.

When parents are too overbearing, their children often turn out this way.

Lin Chu also grew up poor, but in his case, a roguish, carefree father had produced a son with a couldn’t-care-less attitude. His dad hadn’t taught him anything good, but he also hadn’t restricted Lin Chu’s wild growth.

”Brother Chu, I... HAHAHA, I still have to ask, what’s the deal with this card?”

Fang Weidong asked with a shameless grin. He had to get a clear answer.

Lin Chu finished ordering and looked at him with a faint smile. ”What? You don’t like it? I just happened to have them on hand, so I figured I’d give you two a little bonus.”

”It’s just a damn card. Take it and be done with it. Why all the bitching and moaning?”

Fang Weidong: ...

He instantly felt an overwhelming aura of dominance, just like being at home, getting chewed out by his rough-around-the-edges, gangster-like dad.

This made him a little annoyed.

However, it was also a very familiar rhythm and feeling.

He put on a slightly awkward and fawning smile.

Jin Jiaying completely understood the situation now, and she was a little shocked. ’President Lin is really a big shot. These two look like his underlings.’

’It’s... also pretty strange.’

’Giving cards worth over two million to his underlings?’

’What’s he after?’

’Or does he really not see money as money?’

’Or maybe, he’s one of those gangster bosses?’

For a moment, a subtle curiosity about Lin Chu bloomed in her heart.

A short while later, the food and drinks arrived.

For wine, Lin Chu once again ordered Romanée-Conti. He got two bottles. High-end restaurants all carry this stuff, just at different prices. Here, it sold for 210,000 a bottle, the king of the wine list.

As for food, he just ordered a few random dishes.

This place specialized in seafood and even had gooseneck barnacles of the highest quality, priced at 12,000 per jin.

Lin Chu vaguely remembered eating them once as a child, but they were rare now. So, he went ahead and ordered two jin to try something new.

In addition, he ordered a serving of leopard coral grouper, one black gold abalone, one portion of bamboo shrimp, some green vegetables, and a soup.

This standard of dining was a real eye-opener for Jin Jiaying. It wasn’t a business dinner; it was a boss, his underlings, and herself. Four people having a meal that cost several hundred thousand was truly impressive.

Even for a business dinner, a budget like this would be outrageous.

According to the tutorials from her company training, for a meal standard of over one hundred thousand per person, the host’s net worth should normally be over a billion.

’A billionaire big shot?’

She picked up a pair of serving chopsticks and began eagerly placing food on Lin Chu’s plate, occasionally putting on gloves to peel shrimp for him.

Her main focus was providing attentive service, absolutely on point.

’If she weren’t afraid President Lin would find it distasteful, she would have fed him while lying in his lap.’

...

”Oh, right. I have something to tell you guys. Help me keep an eye out for a suitable plot of land, or maybe a former factory building. The location can be a bit remote, that’s fine. Plan for the scale of a five-hundred-person factory. Let me know if you hear anything.”

”If there’s really nothing in Peng City, the surrounding areas like Guan City, Hui City, or Yang City would work too.”

As they were eating and drinking, Lin Chu suddenly remembered something and mentioned it casually.

They were both locals, so they should have sources for this kind of information.

A welfare home.

Lin Chu was, of course, thinking about opening his own welfare home.

But he had to secure the land first. For a facility housing several hundred people, renting a place wouldn’t cut it. It wouldn’t show he had the means, and the Civil Affairs Bureau might not even approve his application.

’You’re still renting a place yourself, and you want to save the world? Are you kidding me?’

Hearing this, Lu Ming’s interest was piqued. He smiled and asked, ”Planning a new project already? Sure, I’ll ask around for you. You’re not planning to get into manufacturing, are you?”

Lin Chu glanced at him and waved his hand. ”Don’t ask for now. Just tell me if you find some land. You’ll know everything in due time. Nothing’s set in stone yet.”

It was a very complex project.

It involved buying land, constructing buildings, navigating government bureaucracy, opening, gathering people, screening them, operations... every step was complicated.

But since he had decided, he would see it through with determination.

A grand undertaking!

”Alright, I’ll keep an eye out too. There’s definitely something out there. The real estate market is in such a slump this year, it’s the perfect time to buy.”

Fang Weidong chimed in with a smile.

He was secretly thinking, ’Buying land is definitely big business. Once the land is bought, I can get more involved. I could probably invest a good amount.’

’With an investment in fixed assets like that, my trust in him would naturally skyrocket.’

At this moment, he naturally became even more attentive toward Lin Chu, toasting him repeatedly.

Lin Chu sensed it, but it didn’t bother him. ’All rivers flow into the sea; tolerance brings greatness. If people want to follow me, let them come. The more friends, the better.’

Of course, as he moved forward, the friends he made would have more self-interest involved, but that was unavoidable.

’If adults don’t talk about money, what is there to talk about?’

...

After the meal, Lin Chu went to pay the bill. The total was 630,000, and he received a rebate of 1,260,000.

He checked the time. It was just after nine, not even ten yet. With fewer people, the dinner ended quickly.

”Let’s go get massages. I’ve been tired these past two days. Let’s relax and get a spa treatment.”

Lin Chu said casually and headed straight for the underground garage.

His house wasn’t renovated yet, so he’d just make do for another night in the presidential suite at the Wanhao.

Lu Ming and Fang Weidong naturally had no objections.

Ever since Lu Ming started staying at the Wanhao, he went for spa treatments often when he had free time.

The experience was top-notch.

Jin Jiaying had had a few drinks, and her face was slightly flushed. Hearing this, she looked at Lin Chu with a gentle smile. ”President Lin, is there anything else you need me to do?”

Lin Chu put his arm around her fragrant shoulders. ”Come on, let’s go together. My treat. You worked hard today, too.”

She didn’t resist this level of physical contact at all, smiling gracefully. ”President Lin, it was no trouble. It’s what I’m supposed to do. But I haven’t clocked out for the day yet. The company has rules.”

Lin Chu, of course, knew she was asking for a reward.

It was normal.

A beauty of her caliber could easily earn a five-figure monthly income just by live-streaming; it really wasn’t that difficult.

Especially with those long legs.

A height of 178cm without shoes, she’d be 180cm even in sneakers. It really set one’s imagination running.

Lin Chu was actually a little curious. ’For caddies like her, is there a set price, or does it all depend on their own skills?’

He had just entered this circle and didn’t really understand it.

However, if there really was a set price, Lin Chu would actually find it a turn-off.

’Where can’t you find someone if you’re willing to spend money?’

’There’s no sense of conquest at all.’

”Alright then, you can go. It’s a long way, take my car.”

Lin Chu casually placed the car keys in her palm.

She froze for a moment. She hadn’t expected President Lin to do this—firmly telling her to leave, yet still showing a touch of warmth by lending her his car.

’But... President Lin, is it possible that I’ve been drinking too? I can’t drive, so I’d have to call a designated driver, and calling a designated driver is more expensive than taking a taxi!’

But she really couldn’t bring herself to say that out loud.

”That’s so embarrassing. I don’t want to be a wet blanket. How about... I just take a day off?”

Her thoughts raced as she spoke in a soft voice.

’The time has come to test my judgment and skill.’

’Will I be used and discarded by this big shot for free?’

’Or will I latch onto someone powerful and find a backer from now on?’

Both scenarios had happened before among her colleagues.

They all felt it was a gamble they were willing to take. ’Did anyone really become a caddy for the ten-thousand-something-a-month salary?’

’What they were after was an opportunity!’

’But now, this is the first time I’ve encountered such an opportunity and test... I’m a little flustered, but also a little excited.’

’At least, President Lin definitely isn’t short on money.’

’It all just depends on whether he’s willing to spend it on you.’
