Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 74: Chapter 73: Just Calling Dad Is Enough?

”Go to Hong Kong University Hospital. I know a doctor there and I’ve already called him. Let’s head over now.”

Liu Junfeng sent a message in the group chat.

Lin Chu had Gao Haitao turn the car around and head for Hong Kong University Hospital.

’I should be fine, but I’d better get it checked out. Otherwise, it’ll just keep nagging at me, and that’s no way to live.’

On the way, he reflected and summed things up in his mind.

At this point, he wasn’t short on money or time. He had the whole playboy package: looks, money, time, and stamina. The only thing he lacked was the patience for games.

’Hanging out in trash heaps like nightclubs all the time is pretty low-class, and dangerous too.’

’It’s really time to upgrade my tastes.’

He thought about it the whole way.

When they arrived at the hospital, they found the doctor they knew.

Since it was a referral from a friend, the doctor didn’t ask many questions. He just followed procedure, writing out the orders for blood and urine samples to be tested.

They were all too used to this sort of thing.

It happened every year, every month.

While waiting for the test results, the guys sat in the waiting area, looking at each other in a slightly awkward silence, not quite sure what to say.

”Man, what a mess. But hey, it’s a wild world out there, this stuff is normal. We should all be fine.”

Liu Junfeng broke the ice with a relaxed smile. After a pause, he added, ”This is perfect, actually. Time for a change of battlefield. And on that note, let’s have Brother Kai say a few words.”

Li Kai also smiled. ”Brother Chu, I’m getting ready to open a maid cafe.”

Hmm? ℴ

Hearing this, Lin Chu looked at him. After a moment’s thought, he understood what Li Kai meant. This was how he was planning to spend that five million. Lin Chu nodded. ”Sounds good.”

’Go ahead and open it.’

’That sort of thing could be pretty interesting.’

’At least it’s definitely cleaner than a nightclub.’

”Lately... I guess I really have been a bit too wild,” Li Kai said with a wry smile.

Just last night, he was at Sky City, drinking with Liu Junfeng. Then the two of them left with a couple of girls.

Now, he was seriously freaking out.

He knew the logic, he knew it was a low-probability event, but a shadow of doubt definitely remained in his mind.

Lin Chu nodded and couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh. ”Alright, that’s enough. Let’s not create a panic. Just wait for the results.”

And so they waited.

For over an hour.

And that was with the doctor putting in a word to rush the tests.

When the results were in, the doctor personally came over with a stack of sealed envelopes, handing them to each person by name. ”You’re all fine, everything’s negative. Except for you, Junfeng, your uric acid is a bit high. You need to watch your diet and try to drink less. Otherwise, it could lead to gout, and that’ll be a real pain.”

Liu Junfeng gave an embarrassed smile. ”I know, I know. I’ve basically stopped drinking beer already.”

The doctor smiled. ”You should cut back on hard liquor and wine too... Alright, I won’t lecture you.”

Lin Chu took his report and looked over it in detail. Every indicator was either negative or normal. He let out a long sigh of relief.

’All clear.’

It wasn’t just Lin Chu. As the others looked at their own reports, they all let out long sighs of relief. Safe. Healthy. That feeling was something money couldn’t buy.

They looked at each other, the tense and awkward atmosphere vanishing completely. They couldn’t help but laugh.

”So what do you say? Should we go back? Hahahaha... Don’t hit me, I’m just kidding,” Liu Junfeng said with a cocky grin, getting carried away by the good news.

Lin Chu shot him a look. ”I already blacklisted the promoter. Let’s go. I’m going home to sleep. Let’s lay low for a couple of days.”

They chatted all the way to the parking lot before splitting up and heading home.

On the way back, Lin Chu felt a lingering sense of a false alarm, a feeling that was both funny and frustrating.

’I’ll just take it as a warning from fate.’

’I guess I really have been getting carried away lately. See a pretty girl with a good body, and I immediately want to get to first base. It’s like revenge spending.’

’Thank fucking god nothing happened.’

’If I had really run into a bioweapon, not even Jesus could save me. The system couldn’t save me either!’

’I have to change my ways, level up!’

...

He mulled it over for half the trip. As he was nearing the hotel, Lin Chu sent a message to Wang Zhefei. He hadn’t come earlier, which was the right call for such a private matter. After all, he hadn’t been involved, so why would he show up?

”Buying a house.”

”If I buy you a house, will you call me daddy? (Grinning emoji)”

Wang Zhefei replied almost immediately: ”Just calling you daddy is enough? I don’t have to eat a few dozen piles of dog shit or something? Damn, who are you looking down on? I can do it all!”

emmmm...

’That response style is pure him.’

But he had obviously agreed.

He had always been enthusiastic about acquiring long-term assets like this.

A smile crept onto Lin Chu’s lips.

’Tsk, the 10x rebate is in the bag!’

’I’m such a moron!’

’To only think of this now.’

’Thank you, Resident Evil.’

”Which residential complex do you like? Name it. We’ll go buy it tomorrow.”

Wang Zhefei: ”Peng City Bay No.1, Daddy. It has to be Peng City Bay No.1!”

Lin Chu: ”I really can’t afford that one. Pick another.”

An apartment at Peng City Bay No.1 easily cost over a hundred million. He only had a little over twenty million on hand right now, so he really couldn’t afford it.

Wang Zhefei: ”Trash... You can’t even afford a measly Peng City Bay No.1. Then just buy a place with limited property rights. As long as it’s a place to live. I’ve looked into those channels before, you can get one for just over a million. A farmer’s collective housing unit. There’s a ton of them in Bao’an, and in Longgang too.”

Lin Chu: ...

”You’re acting like a fucking idiot. Can you not be so extreme? Going from one extreme to the other. Look for a house between 5 and 10 million. We’ll go buy it tomorrow.”

Wang Zhefei: ”Okay, Daddy. I’ll start looking right now. Will my services be required in bed tonight?”

Lin Chu: ”Get yourself cleaned up and wait. I’m going to buy a steel pipe and a steel wool ball first.”

He replied: ”...Don’t. I’ll stop messing around. I’m looking at houses now. Now this is more like it. When you have money, you should buy property. Buy a few dozen and collect rent. Are you planning to put it under my name? You’ve thought this through, right...? If you need me to do something, just say it.”

He had touched upon a sensitive issue. They were bros, but a house worth several million, or even close to ten million, felt pretty outrageous even to him.

’Buying a house and putting it in your bro’s name? What kind of move is that?’

The only reason he could think of was that Lin Chu had something like ”asset transferring” in mind, but that wasn’t a topic he could ask about directly.

Lin Chu never talked about the source of his funds, and Wang Zhefei was understanding about it. If Lin Chu really was working for some big shot, acting as a ”white glove” or something similar, then of course he couldn’t talk about it—someone like ”Huang Youlong,” for example.

”I don’t need you to do anything.”

”Just buy it and live in it.”

Lin Chu replied. The virtual panel had already appeared before his eyes. The condition for the 10x rebate had been met. It was just like with the car last time; for real estate, the condition would be fulfilled upon registration and title transfer.

Wang Zhefei: ”Okay. How about after we buy it, we mortgage the property deed to get you another lump sum of cash? It’s perfectly legal.”

This was also a standard move when buying a house.

Lin Chu: ”Not for now. We can consider it later if I’m short on cash.”

Wang Zhefei: ”Okay. Up to you. I’ll get back to looking at houses then.”

Ending the chat, Lin Chu smiled to himself, thinking about what Wang Zhefei had just said: ’When you have money, you should buy property, buy a few dozen and collect rent...’

Tsk.

’Collecting rent is hardly necessary for me. What good is that little bit of rental income?’

’The main thing is, one house is one wife.’

’I have to admire the precision of the ancients’ vocabulary.’
