Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 371: Chapter 250: Divine Grace? Evolution!

The confidant hesitated for a moment, tentatively asking, ”Send her now...”

The Second Priest’s eyes flashed with a cold light, ”No need. After this ritual is completed, I want to see what this so-called chase is about. The Third Priest’s request must be fulfilled quickly. If we can find it before the ritual, that would be best.”

The three confidants’ expressions changed, and they quickly exited to carry out their tasks.

A commotion of footsteps arose from downstairs.

The Second Priest walked to the window, looked down, and saw a large group of people filing out of the resort hotel, each dressed variably but with a common large red cloth tied around their arms.

They looked like a motley crew, but all were composed of Evolvers.

Aside from the participants of the ritual, this was the entire population of the island.

All survivors who arrived on the island, whether ordinary people or Evolvers, had to participate in a ritual at least once and would be exempt from further participation after receiving the ”Divine Grace.”

If they did not receive the ”Divine Grace,” they had to repeat endlessly.

Until they either perished or evolved.

This was the reason Tide Watching Island had persisted until now.

The vast majority of the population was consumed through the repeated rituals.

Once this ritual is over, allowing him to rightfully annex the High Priest, the entire five hundred or so Evolvers on Tide Watching Island would fall under his control.

The Second Priest extended his hand, gazing at the smooth ruby in a deep contemplation.

”Do you think it’s possible that I am the one who chases the giant whale?”

Only his question remained in the suite, without a response.

Turning his head, he tossed the red crystal to the figure standing in the corner. As the crystal was about to hit the person’s face, a scarred hand caught it, stuffing it into the mouth. The sound of chewing glass shards echoed in the empty room.

”A puppet?”

A gentle female voice with a hint of puzzlement suddenly sounded in the room.

”Who!”

The Second Priest’s hair stood on end as he sharply turned around.

But he saw nothing suspicious.

On the coffee table, there was an unfinished card game; two towels lay on the sideboard; the bedside table was transparent, with the bottle of red wine he just opened sitting on top.

Even the air flow was steady and humid, without any anomaly.

The female voice he had just heard seemed like an illusion.

The Second Priest looked suspiciously towards the corner.

The tall figure made no movements. Usually, if anyone dared to enter within ten meters of him without permission, they would be instantly slaughtered on the spot by his ”Death God.”

But the voice was definitely not an illusion!

Someone had infiltrated the room using a method beyond his understanding!

Imagining that person now possibly standing before her or sitting on the sofa staring coldly at him, the Second Priest broke out in a cold sweat, waving to bring the puppet in the corner to his side.

Feeling the cold murderous aura from Death God, the Second Priest felt somewhat reassured.

He scrutinized everything around with paranoia.

But he didn’t ignore what was outside the window either.

Looking out, he couldn’t take his eyes back.

The small mountain on Tide Watching Island had been artificially altered into a crescent shape, with the resort hotel situated right in the middle.

The mountain was behind, with hills gradually extending on both sides to surround the hotel, forming a wall slightly higher than the outer island.

Due to the floodwaters all around, New Eden didn’t have the habit of setting up sentries, leaving a few to guard the door, who were probably now dozing off somewhere.

A strange group descended from the earthen slope ahead.

The person leading them was dressed in all black, with long hair, not looking like a good person.

From far away, eyes with a hint of a smile locked firmly on him.

The group was heading towards the direction of the resort hotel.

What concerned him more was that the High Priest and Ah Duo were following behind.

A thought suddenly emerged.

”Could it be she really found it?”

Impossible!

”Found it!”

The door was flung open, and a confidant shouted into the room.

The Second Priest was so startled that he jerked forward a few steps, glaring at him with a terrifying gaze, ”Impossible!”

The confidant retreated half a step, stammering, ”Truly, truly found it.”

”Just some survivors who stumbled into Jingchao Lake, they can’t possibly be the prophesied ones!”

The confidant saw the bloodshot eyes of the Second Priest and quickly realized what was happening, hurriedly explaining, ”I mean the things for the Third Priest have been found.”

Only then did the Second Priest breathe a sigh of relief, glaring at him viciously.

”Next time, make yourself clear. Come with me to meet the High Priest.”

Although success was imminent, he could not ignore the High Priest’s prophecy. Although he did not want to admit it, the majority of the prophecies had come true.

New Eden’s growth to its current state was inseparable from the High Priest’s prophecies.

Now that the High Priest brought back a group of strangers, he wouldn’t be able to sleep without getting to the bottom of it.

Su Huan’s arrival also caught the attention of the Evolvers downstairs.

But seeing the two High Priests behind him, although there was hostility, they did not attack immediately.

Yu Yue stepped forward a few steps, whispered something in Su Huan’s ear.

”A puppet similar to Yu Jing? How interesting.”

Su Huan licked his teeth, nodding with his chin towards the Second Priest dressed in a black robe coming from the front, ”That must be the Second Priest?”

Ah Duo was on high alert, cautiously watching the mask-wearing ”Death God” behind the Second Priest.

The Second Priest, however, didn’t pay her any mind, although he liked this body, the man in front of him was just... too eye-catching.

When he stood there, it seemed as though he should be the protagonist of this world.

An inexplicable magnetic field drew everyone’s attention.

Strangely, however, the Second Priest felt no threat from an Evolver on this person.
