Armed Train in the Apocalypse

But Su Huan didn’t care about that.

It’s her that’s in a difficult position.

Aren’t you a high-value talent? Then you need to demonstrate your value.

”Weapons, I think what the train currently lacks the most are powerful weapons.”

Shu Wei thought for a moment, then firmly said.

He Jie nodded almost imperceptibly, and even Qu Hang, who was staring blankly beside them, gave the woman a second glance.

”The reason?”

Su Huan put down her chopsticks, leaned back against the chair with one hand supporting her face, looking somewhat weary, like a satiated black cat.

”There was a maintenance list for firearms in the report just now, the most powerful were just a few large-caliber machine guns. In previous battles, we’ve gained some understanding of the train’s weapons, mainly old-fashioned gunpowder weapons, which are enough against the current zombies and mutant beasts, but insufficient against major forces and deep-sea giants.”

Seeing that Su Huan had no intention of interrupting her, Shu Wei continued, ”As far as I know, there’s no permanent power in the Flood Zone, and there are numerous pre-apocalypse resources waiting to be tapped. Ningxi Province is a major energy province, with many cutting-edge electromagnetic laboratories.”

Hearing about the arsenal, Su Huan perked up slightly, ”Map.”

The Giraffe stood up to help Xiaozhao pull out the monitor attached to the wall, switched the surveillance feed, revealing a giant blue map representing areas covered by the flood.

”This is our current location, southwest of Ningxi Province, the nearest city to us is Guan Chong City.”

Xiaozhao pointed, and a dark blue dot appeared at the lower position of the screen.

Shu Wei walked forward, identifying while recalling relevant information.

A moment later, pointing to Xiushui City slightly left of center, she said, ”Li Xiuhua, a native of Xiushui City, was once affiliated with the International Institute of High-Energy Applied Physics, later secretly returned to China and established this electromagnetic weapon laboratory. He has profound knowledge in electromagnetic launch technology, pulse power systems, superconducting material weaponization application fields, and there should be a large number of electromagnetic weapons around the laboratory due to the military district.”

Su Huan looked towards Professor Ma and others.

Director Xu shook his head, ”I know of this person, but our fields are vastly different, not familiar.”

Professor Ma pondered, ”When Professor Li first returned to the country, I attended his lecture. He once participated in the development of the first prototype of the ’Electromagnetic Railgun’ and made a breakthrough in the composite system of the ’Victor Electromagnetic Coil Cannon + AI Trajectory Correction’, achieving a test precision of 0.05 mrad, which is at sniper level. I didn’t expect Professor Li to be from Xiushui City...”

Seeing the two validate this information, Su Huan believed it a bit more.

Currently, heavy weaponry is indeed a significant shortcoming of the armored train.

Now the defense and survival capabilities have reached his initial goals, and without friction with major forces, merely heading north, facing natural disasters and mutant beasts, is also sufficient for now.

But to uncover secrets, battles are inevitable.

Enhancing the train’s output capabilities is imperative.

”Then the next target is Xiushui City, are there any other suggestions?”

Understanding the cause and effect, Su Huan made a decisive decision.

Everyone quietly shook their heads, as the direction of the armored train’s advance was naturally controlled by the conductor.

Noticing the discussion time was about to end, Lao San quickly winked and gestured, ”Conductor, about that...”

Su Huan helplessly tapped her forehead, this fool, so many haven’t brought it up, yet you had to jump out.

A glance outside the car window at the pitch-black scenery.

”It’s too late, we’ll discuss other matters tomorrow.”

Everyone glanced at Lao San’s face, which had turned beet-red, and seemed thoughtful.

...

Storm Zone, Deep Blue Data’s declared headquarters.

Under the pitch-black night, the storm advanced like massive waves, carrying not only sand and gravel but also large amounts of industrial products and metal debris, which, as they moved with the storm, struck the cement piers like bullets.

Leaving behind a mass of debris and pockmarked piers, the storm continued onward.

Passing through multiple 50-meter-high spiral wind-guide walls, the storm was reduced to fine sand, pattering against two towers resembling inverted hourglasses.

The twin towers, constructed from 12 layers of nested concentric circular steel frames, were covered in self-cleaning photovoltaic glass that could absorb ample light energy during the day in the Storm Zone for nighttime electricity generation. The lower internal part was hollow, containing a dark blue cooling liquid.

Above, a dozen corridors crisscrossed, with the sides featuring conventional meeting rooms and various studios, and large spaces left unused, populated with greenery and coffee machines. Small groups of employees sat around, fingers flying across their notebooks.

Accompanied by a secretary’s hurried footsteps entering, a stunned low growl suddenly emanated from an office on the top floor.

The Vice President of Business Development stood up in shock, snatching the communication device from the secretary’s hand, and questioned word by word.

”You’re telling me that you and Black Kite’s special forces team not only failed to capture that Genetic Primordial but were also made to dig trees all night in the mountains with your heads down?”

A voice came from the opposite side, Haywood awkwardly replied, ”Though some details differ... we almost got drowned by the flood too.”

The vice president’s eyebrows furrowed deeply, his voice low, ”Didn’t Black Kite send a Tier Two? How were they beaten like this, did they send a Tier Two pig?!”

Opposite, Haywood, repeatedly reviewing the intelligence sent back by Tong Zizhan, braced himself to recite.

”...Based on the messages reported by our collectors, the train’s conductor advanced to Tier Two on the spot and took down Black Kite’s Tier Two Evolver in one strike.”

The vice president sucked in a breath of cold air, ”Are you telling me a story?”
