Armed Train in the Apocalypse

In this situation, the most sentimental among the crowd was Miao Qi.

At some point, the phrase ”that Su guy” and the oldest batch of passengers had completely disappeared from the train.

Now, most of the passengers were newly recruited from the Steel Council Headquarters and Shun’an.

She was already the oldest passenger on the train, arriving a day after Yu Yue and her daughter.

Only two months had passed.

But it felt like two years had gone by, everything had changed dramatically. They crossed Mojiang, escaped the High Temperature Zone, and reached the northernmost part of the Acid Rain Zone.

Battle after battle, personnel changes, and expansions and reforms...

Su Huan’s fame and power had seeped into the depths of the armed train like water, into every component, and into everyone’s heart.

Even the most arrogant people harbored a deep fear for the title ”Conductor”.

Even the ambitious man beside her who wanted to replace Su Huan had unwittingly become a supporter of the conductor.

Why did she want to kill him back then?

Was it because of her ex-husband or the situation that led her to her current predicament?

It sounded ridiculous.

She could hardly remember what her ex-husband looked like.

Even Gao Zhe and his group became just a symbol in her memory.

They existed, but were blurry and indistinct.

Only the man before her was just like before, not in appearance, but in demeanor.

Because of evolution, everyone had become vastly different from their former selves, with significant changes in demeanor.

Except for Su Huan.

His demeanor hadn’t changed from the early days of the apocalypse.

However, that feeling of not fitting in with the world had diminished a lot.

More accurately, everyone on the train now resembled him.

The wind and rain lashed, the raindrops stinging slightly on the skin, but the soldiers trained by He Jie to withstand such pain didn’t mind at all.

Only everyone was a bit puzzled as to why the conductor hadn’t spoken yet.

Su Huan stared blankly at the soldiers of the corps before him.

Internally torn between two choices.

What would be the appropriate first words?

’Welcome to the reserve force?’

Too ordinary, this was the first day of the official formation of the Armed Corps, destined to be recorded in the conductor’s log.

How could such a mundane sentence be used?

Su Huan rubbed his fingertips in frustration.

’Thank you, everyone, for your hard work?’

That’s not right either, their hard work is expected. If they don’t work hard, it will be me who suffers.

Forget it, I’ll just revise the log entry tonight if need be.

History from the past is lost, and the future’s history is determined by whoever writes it.

Just say something with a little flair and provide some motivation.

So on this gloomy and turbulent day, as the train sped up to 120 km/h.

Su Huan showed what he thought was the warmest smile and said, ”Nice weather today.”

The chaotic cold rain slapped wildly on their faces, and Yu Yue felt the corners of her mouth twitch involuntarily, lowering her delicate brows in some embarrassment as she transmitted the words to everyone.

The group fell into deeper silence.

Only the sound of the wind and rain howling.

The soldiers were well-trained. Su Huan was very satisfied and continued.

”There are mainly two things today, I’ve just finished talking about one, the rest concerns our upcoming goals.”

”In an hour, we will reach Guangren City’s Wangjiang Peak. When you fight in the city, you’ll face more zombies and a small number of Mutant Beasts, mostly common ones like bloodhounds and terror claw cats. But on the mountain, your main enemies will be Mutant Beasts and mutant plants.”

”But likewise, the more enemies there are, the more merit you’ll earn. The Armed Corps is currently in its infancy, and many positions are still empty, reserved for you guys. Wasn’t someone aiming to surpass He Jie before...”

Su Huan’s gaze roamed the crowd and fell on the mongoose’s face.

The latter stood up straight, raising his head, and shouted, ”Here!”

”Very spirited, but—” Su Huan smiled, his narrow eyes containing a trace of chill as he scanned the faces of the crowd, ”There are many opportunities on the train. Don’t target your superiors, and don’t have crooked thoughts during battles.”

”Backstabbing, stealing credit, failing to provide support, shifting blame...”

Su Huan listed more than a dozen actions.

These were tactics he used in his past life, but he didn’t hope for them to happen in the newly formed Armed Corps.

”So here’s a reminder: I don’t usually rely on evidence when passing judgment.”

A surge of Pan-energy swelled from Su Huan, unconverted, and dominantly occupied the space on the deck.

Seeing the slowing raindrops and wind, the crowd was visibly terrified.

Evolvers, aside from using Pan-energy Crystals, primarily rely on absorbing Pan-energy from the air, naturally sensing the sudden spike in Pan-energy density in the air.

The sensation was like falling into a deep pond, with their internal Pan-energy extracted amounting to only a handful of clear water.

While the conductor in front of them was like a waterfall, with rich Pan-energy flooding them unapologetically like pond water.

Lin Jin slightly opened his eyes, feeling he could extend his flame control by thirty percent under this concentration of Pan-energy.

As for the regular soldiers, they had lost the desire to compare.

When you have a bucket of water, everyone might compare, but with a pond, there’s no point in comparing at all.

It was the soldiers’ first direct encounter with the conductor’s immense power.

”Clap clap!”

Su Huan clapped his hands, ”That’s it for today, you can go and prepare.”

The crowd, as if waking from a dream, entered the train.

He Jie gave Qu Hang and the others a look, signaling them to go down, leaving only him and Su Huan above.
