Armed Train in the Apocalypse

A group of people, as if facing a formidable enemy, deployed all defensive measures, standing guard at the figure clad in exoskeletons.

Zhao Kuo raised his head coldly, both eyes already pierced by electricity, one mechanical prosthetic eye turned into a cold mechanical sphere, and the other flesh eye was nothing but a dark hollow.

He identified direction by relying on a miniature detection device embedded within his skull.

”Detected two Tier One Evolvers.”

”The main body should repair the damage as soon as possible, avoid combat, search for items nearby that can repair the damage.”

”Execute command: evade, search!”

Just as Haywood was puzzled, Zhao Kuo abruptly turned directions and ran towards the mountaintop, bypassing them.

Haywood’s expression changed.

Wasn’t Black Kite capturing Genetic Primordials at the foot of the mountain?!

Why did they also run to the top?

Could it be that they had dealt with the Armed Train and then came up to pick pears?

”Quick, all combat personnel gather at my location to block Black Kite from ascending the mountain.”

He just gathered his team, a total of five Tier One combatants.

If it weren’t for the damn Black Kite capturing one of his reconnaissance squads, he wouldn’t be so stretched thin. When establishing a branch, headquarters would mobilize ten Tier One Evolvers. In the early days of the apocalypse, this was already a massive force.

After all, they came to build a branch, not to wipe out other forces.

Back then, the Steel Council had just a little over a dozen Tier One Evolvers in total.

At this moment, the remaining members of the Black Kite Squad charged up from the foot of the mountain too, staring blankly at the Deep Blue Data people.

They were fighting desperately below, so what were the Deep Blue Data people doing hiding up the mountain?

Though they couldn’t figure out the logic straight away,

there was definitely something fishy!

Profile Specialist 428 waved a hand; the profiling ability activated, plunging her eyes into darkness as she shrilled, ”They’re searching for something up there!”

The investigation team was captured, though the superior went to negotiate, the ransom cost still had to be shouldered by their Acid Rain Zone branch.

If it hadn’t been for the news of bringing back the Genetic Primordial, he would’ve had a lot to answer for just because five Tier One Evolvers got captured.

Now it’s hard enough to grasp promotion clues, and Black Kite again plays spoiler?

This is the kind of credit that can give multiple levels of promotion instantly!

”Damn, fuck! Bitch!”

Haywood’s anger flared instantly, raising his hand to shoot at 428.

428 displayed astonishing flexibility with her hot figure, rolling several times to avoid the shots. Her willow eyebrows raised, ”Who are you calling a bitch?!”

But her voice didn’t carry out, drowned by gunfire.

Near the mountaintop, both sides fully engaged in combat while constantly shifting towards the peak.

Su Huan, leading the Armed Corps, wasn’t in a hurry, following from behind.

Spotting those who fell wounded, he’d clean up the battlefield, given he had more than enough manpower to control the situation, not worried about managing more captives.

Soon he’d captured seven or eight people from both sides.

Among them was Profile Specialist 428, who, due to lack of combat ability, was wounded and fell. If not for Su Huan’s timely rescue, she would’ve been a goner.

By now, the exoskeleton and the outermost loose combat suit were removed, leaving only a layer of tactical tights underneath. Her heavy chest was roped tight in a quite improper manner, while torrential rain hit her directly. The golden dye from her hair mixed with rainwater slipped from her undulating mountain profile, revealing black hair.

Though looking quite embarrassed, her eyes still carried an alluring charm, exhibiting a seductive demeanor.

The sight left many soldiers stunned.

Su Huan finally realized the giraffe had a decent skill in tying knots.

He Jie gave the giraffe a ”good luck to you” look and didn’t hesitate to lead the men in continued pursuit,

grabbing Xiaoba along the way.

The giraffe sensed some trouble afoot, catching Yu Yue’s slightly frowned look behind the conductor, leaving him regretful.

Focused on flattering the conductor, he’d forgotten the conductor’s wife.

Though no one explicitly said, anyone could tell from Yu Yue’s and the conductor’s relationship.

Besides, Yu Yue held several roles and had a gentle disposition, earning her respect among the ”conductor’s wife”.

Su Huan calmly asked 428, ”How did Black Kite learn about the Genetic Primordial?”

428 tilted her face to Su Huan, without a moment’s hesitation, exposing Black Kite’s bottom line, ”Mr. Shu’s ex-wife is Wang Yi, a board member of the Steel Council.”

Su Huan was slightly surprised, not expecting to obtain crucial information from a casual question.

”Your identity.”

”I am a Black Kite Special Service Copper Kite Level personnel, a Tier One ’Profile Specialist’. With an assistant, I can rapidly visualize past events occurring within a site. It just so happens I know some secrets Mr. Shu had for this mission.”

Su Huan’s expression softened a bit, ”Good, you didn’t waste my time.”

428 breathed a sigh of relief.

Having helped Mr. Shu reconstruct the Steel Council Headquarters battlefield, she’d gathered plenty of intel on Su Huan, naturally understanding him.

The conductor placed great emphasis on value, and as long as she demonstrated her worth, she could survive.

After all, it’s the battlefield where anyone could face summary execution or burial to save trouble.

Faced with dozens of gun barrels, nobody wanted to try their luck.

As for loyalty to Mr. Shu...

Please, she was merely borrowed by Mr. Shu, not responsible for the mission failing.

But her life was her own, dead meant dead.

Su Huan waved his hand, instructing someone to take 428 away, giving her a chance since she showed value and a willingness to cooperate.

Now, he needed to move towards the final capture.

HT-426 and Haywood had long noticed the Armed Train trailing behind, but both parties couldn’t stop at this point.

If one side ceased, how could they be sure the other wouldn’t fire a sneaky shot?

And even if the other stopped, could one refrain from firing a sneaky shot?

Considering each other, both couldn’t do it.

They had no choice but to watch their teams dwindle, leaving Su Huan to effortlessly capture what was left.

Wangjiang Peak’s summit had turned into an apocalyptic scene.

Dark rain clouds hung overhead, within reach, while distant mountains shrouded by darkness and heavy rain, with the storm-wind lashing rain causing people to squint, the pine forest swayed wildly behind.

Vivid floodlights illuminated the entire mountaintop.

Jagged rocks like skeletal remains jutted out, washed by rain emanating a damp cold glow.

Layered armed soldiers clad in dark green raincoats stood at the mountaintop, aiming their gun barrels at the center with iron-like expressions.

HT-426 and Haywood finally halted with grim faces.

Su Huan’s gaze swept over the mountaintop, especially the hiding experts under Haywood’s command, his expression growing darker, ”Have you found it?”

The experts behind the cover exchanged uncertain glances.

This moment, Haywood emerged with raised hands, awkwardly smiling, ”Hi, didn’t expect to meet again here, Mr. Su... Could you perhaps spare a life for the sake of our past transaction?”

Su Huan wore a faint smile, ”Of course.”

Haywood’s azure eyes immediately brightened.

Before he could speak, Su Huan’s low and resonant voice reached his ears, ”Let’s make another deal.”

Inside, Haywood exhaled softly; as long as there was a deal to be made, there was hope for negotiation.

Today’s Crown Pear plan failed. Losing his life wouldn’t be worth it.

No matter how enticing the superior painted it, he needed his life to enjoy it!

”The bargaining chip is your life.”

Ignoring Haywood’s stiff smile, Su Huan continued, ”The same goes for Black Kite’s people. If you locate the Crown Pear Tree, I’ll let you live, if not, I’ll send you down the mountain one by one.”

”Time is an hour; every five minutes exceeding it, I’ll send one.”

The giraffe pulled a large folding chair from the backpack, setting it up behind the conductor.

Su Huan sat on it dominantly, accepting the timer handed by Bai Lu.

”Alright, you can start now.”
