Armed Train in the Apocalypse

In this regard, Professor Ma and Director Xu, the old-timers, were more certain than the younger ones like Lin Jin and Xiaozhao.

The group of young people still thought they were survivors and refugees under the natural disaster.

But now, the armed train entering the Flood Zone had already turned the tables.

The situation of offense and defense had shifted.

”The second matter is the situation we are about to face next, Shu Wei.”

Su Huan said calmly.

He had died too early in his last life, never mind not knowing about the Storm Zone; even the Flood Zone was beyond his understanding.

Everyone’s eyes fell on Shu Wei, thinking the conductor was testing the new secretary.

Shu Wei thought the same.

In an instant, countless thoughts flashed through her mind. Under normal circumstances, she could have let the words roll off her tongue easily, but knowing she only had one chance, she became much more cautious.

After rapidly analyzing all the situations, she calmly analyzed.

”The current crisis facing the armed train can be divided into two types: natural disasters and man-made calamities.”

The clear voice was like a dark river beneath a glacier, carrying the magnetism of colliding ice shards.

Upon hearing this, Su Huan also concentrated slightly.

”The man-made calamity comes from Black Kite and other unknown major forces. For some reason, the information of the armed train possessing dual genetic primordial hasn’t been spread but kept hidden, known only after the Battle of Wangjiang Peak at headquarters.”

”Then why are there unknown forces?” He Jie frowned and asked, ”Isn’t it just a Black Kite and a Deep Blue Data?”

Shu Wei’s gray-blue pupils focused on He Jie’s face, scrutinizing as if trying to print his face into memory, showing no superfluous emotions, only an almost ruthless concentration.

”The issue lies with Deep Blue Data, who initially seemed unaware of the genetic primordial matter, only curious as to why Black Kite would overstep.” —

”Here’s an insert: every major force has its territory, like the Steel Council in the Acid Rain Zone, the headquarters of Black Kite and Deep Blue Data in the Storm Zone. Currently, each force is exploiting the internal resources of its zone. If not for the high value of the genetic primordial, we wouldn’t have traveled across the Flood Zone to the Acid Rain Zone to capture people.”

”The genetic primordial, although attractive to Deep Blue Data, doesn’t provoke unnecessary conflict with other forces. After the armed train wiped out the Steel Council, it met the criteria of a ’small force,’ but it doesn’t mean they would keep the train’s secrets. In their style, the train’s possession of dual genetic primordial and life-enhancing mutant plants has spread across multiple major zones.”

”And Black Kite, suffering a major blow at Wangjiang Peak, losing a special operations squad, surely won’t let it rest. They won’t delve into the Flood Zone, but outside it, they must have already set up a blockade network.”

Lao San considered, ”With the train’s current defense capability, there’s no fear of a blockade, right?”

Sitting next to him, Boss wanted to speak but hesitated, having seen the weapons seized from Black Kite Squad, the latest set of electromagnetic equipment, almost devoid of traditional gunpowder firearms except for some spares.

The blockade mentioned must not be simple.

”Black Kite inherited all the assets of a military district, not just a few guns...”

Shu Wei’s eyelashes lowered, casting a sharp shadow under her eyelids.

He Jie gasped in astonishment, his eyes wide, ”A military district? My goodness, isn’t this cheating!”

”Tsk, it sure is cheating.” Su Huan’s eyes were profound, a cold smile on the corner of his mouth, ”But I’m more curious about how many major zones are there and why you consider natural disasters as the train’s main threat?”

”It’s said there are twelve, but Black Kite has only encountered Flood, Storm, Spore, and Gravity Zones so far. If not for this operation, they wouldn’t have met the Acid Rain Zone.”

”Do you all notice, that the intensity of natural disasters isn’t uniformly arranged?”

As Shu Wei spoke, the confidence and professionalism of a listed company’s leadership slowly returned, her tone and every word carrying a convincing presence.

If temperament is a blend of personal knowledge and attire, her aura uses that temperament and language to influence those around them.

When listeners are captivated by such aura, even if she speaks nonsense, they’re willing to believe.

As for certain failed artists, they can’t be called aura; it’s the fusion of personal and era’s willpower, inciting cheers and madness without a word spoken.

Yet Shu Wei’s level of aura clearly couldn’t sway the rebellious conductor.

”Are you asking me?”

Su Huan faintly asked back.

Just do the debrief properly, why add a rhetorical question?

Am I listening to your speech?

Seeing the indifferent, deep-blue light in Su Huan’s eyes, Shu Wei recalled the infernal experiences in the room, her pupils quivering, hastily recovering.

”Natural disasters are arranged alternately strong and weak; for instance, Qingchuan’s Acid Rain Zone is clearly gentler than the Flood Zone. Even ordinary people can survive cautiously in such a disaster zone, but not in the Flood and Spore Zones.”

Listening to her words, another enigma in Su Huan’s mind unraveled.

No wonder the high-temperature zone in Yundu is so intense, while the Acid Rain Zone is excessively mild.

It turns out there is such a pattern.

If the Flood Zone is strong, the subsequent Storm Zone would be peaceful, then the Spore Zone more intense.

Strong then weak...

This is more like human intervention.

”Excuse me, could you explain the situation in the Gravity Zone?”

Sitting beside, Professor Ma suddenly raised his hand, asked with a cheerful smile.

”Regarding the Gravity Zone, it’s mainly learned through another force; Black Kite knows little, just that the major disaster is gravity imbalance, with some areas having greater gravity and some lesser.”

Following that, several researchers from the Huang Sea asked further about the disaster zones.

Su Huan didn’t interrupt either, sitting beside, eating spicy edamame, listening.

He gained an understanding of the Flood Zone too.

The horror of the Flood Zone isn’t just in the turbulent floods, but also in irregular whirlpools, waves, and terrifying mutated beasts connected to the deep sea.

If on land, humans may still rely on civilization’s legacy to dominate the initial stages, but in the sea, mutated beasts have already become absolute rulers.

Like those large seabed creatures, their enormous bodies require astounding energy for evolution.

A Tier One blue whale could effortlessly crush hundreds to thousands of bloodhounds just by rolling over.

Also, the deep seas unexplored by even prosperous humanity, who knows what ancient creatures lie within.

Now, with the explosion of abundant energy, they might all surface.

Having reviewed lots of data earlier, Shu Wei, understanding the armed train’s basic situation, believed they had a high chance of safely passing through the Flood Zone without staying, focusing on Black Kite and other organizations beyond it.

Su Huan was more or less in agreement with this conclusion.

But he thought quickly passing through wasn’t a good suggestion.

He now sees every zone as a treasure, like numerous zombie resources in the high-temperature zone, various supplies not preempted by major forces.

The Crown Pear trees and talents left behind in the Acid Rain Zone.

The armed train needs to better face the doomsday and future dangers.

They shouldn’t just flee; they should seize every opportunity to enhance their capabilities, fatten themselves up.

Fatten up until their enemies can’t consume it, fatten up so that seeing them strikes fear!

”What do you all think the armed train lacks the most now?”

Seeing the discussion wind down, Su Huan suddenly asked.

The group fell into thoughtful silence.

Su Huan’s gaze circled around and landed back on Shu Wei.

Biting her lip, she hadn’t thought it through, but she knew if she couldn’t come up with a good answer or gave a worse answer than others, Su Huan wouldn’t let her off.
